‘I belong to Ogboni confraternity and CAN’ – Lagos Pastor confesses

A popular pastor, Solomon Oladimeji, who is founder of Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Orisun-Ayo, with branches at Alapere, Ketu, and Odogunyan in Ikorodu area of Lagos, has confessed to being a member of the Ogboni confraternity.

Oladimeji, 65, says that there is no stigma that should be associated with the cult which is rumoured to be a gathering of evil doers by most Nigerians.

In this interview with SUN, Oladimeji, who is also a member of the Christian Association of Nigeria talks about blood sacrifices, charms and his views on the misconceptions of practising Christians in Nigeria.

Excerpts:

When did you become a member of the Ogboni, and what were the circumstances that prompted you to be a member?

Although, my journey as shepherd for Jesus Christ’s flock is over 40 years, I became a member of theOgboni society over 20 years ago. Initially, I was initiated into the Aborigine Ogboni fraternity, that is the one they call Ogboni Ibile, but later I joined Saala Ogboni fraternity, and since I made that decision, I have no regret.

As a member of Ogboni fraternity, my life is having a meaning. I have prospered. My coast has been enlarged. Members of my congregation are increasing everyday. I also thank God that due to my diligence as a committed member, I have been able to rise to the enviable position of Oluwo within the Ogboni fraternity.

Are your members, that is members of your church aware that you belong to Ogboni fraternity?

What is there to be hidden? I am not ashamed of my association with Ogboni Society, and I don’t hide it from members of my church. They all know that I’m a leader in the Ogboni group. When you even come to my house, I openly display my regalia as Ogboni chief. Let me quickly tell you this, by making my members know that I’m Ogboni member, it makes me popular among them. They describe me as an open and honest person. For that, many of them have been voluntarily coming to me pleading to be initiated as a member of Ogboni fraternity.

Some people would think that you use charms on them?

Why should I use charm on them or to charm them as some people will say? God forbid. I’m a child of light; darkness or anything evil has no place in my life or church. Your member will like you, when they know that the power you are using to solve their problems is power from Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour. I have never committed evil in my life and I will never do so till the day my Lord calls me home.

Are you saying that charm doesn’t exist?

No. I’m not saying so. Charms do exist, but it depends on how you use it. I used herbs and leaves combined with other items to prepare soap, anointing oil for members and other people that are having spiritual problems.

It is unfortunate that today a lot of Christians are suffering out of ignorance. You see some saying it is what my pastor or what my prophet tells me I believe. I will never use any soap, cream, oil by just any minister of God, but only if those members know what those pastors are doing.

Some of these pastors and prophets come to people like me to acquire power to perform miracle and wonders. Some of them are even Ogboni members like me. But they are hypocrites. I will never deny somebody who is my benefactor, and that is why you see me wearing and displaying beads and other items being used by Ogboni fraternity. To me, what matters again is saving life, and it doesn’t matter where you get saved whether it is in the house of babalawo or any juju priest. We are all calling on the name of the same God.

In my neighbourhood, both at Alapere and Odogunyan, many residents know me both as a cleric andOgboni leader. In fact, Baale of Odogunyan, that is the community leader, knows me as the Oluwo ofSaala Ogboni. I’m highly respected in the community. I joined the Ogboni fraternity because I like their ways of life. They are decent people. Contrary to misconception some people have about Ogboni, that we are evil people. Far from it, rather I will say that Ogboni members are not only children of Light, but we are also messengers of the Most High God because, we don’t kill but only save lives.

But some people believe that Ogboni is evil, and that it is an evil association condemned by the Bible.

Those who say so are ignorant. They have been brainwashed by our colonial masters. But thank God, we are now in a different era, and we can all be reading the Bible without relying or depending on what the imperialist swould want us to believe in order to suit their own purpose. Some will tell you that Ogboniis evil because they use juju, they still carry out sacrifices of various forms by shedding blood of animals, and birds. Some even out of ignorance say we eat human flesh. Rubbish. May Almighty God forgive our traducers.

If you are talking about sacrifice, where did the Bible condemn sacrifice? Let our accusers point it out either in the old or the New Testament. Throughout my years at the seminary and the Bible school, I never come across such.

Then the sacrifice you are talking about, on several occasion especially in the Old Testament, sacrifices were carried out to atone for the sins of the Israelites.

It was also often carried out when the children of Israel were looking for one favour or another.

But coming down to the New Testament, don’t mind those confusionists who say that Jesus Christ, my own Lord and Saviour condemns sacrifice, what a big lie. If you can still remember when Jesus Christ himself was born the day His parents Joseph and Mary were taking Him to the Synagogue, Joseph has to sacrifice doves, and pigeon. He took the birds to the church. You can read in the book of Matthew and Luke.

So, if the parents of Jesus, my Master, the Author and Finisher of my Faith were involved in sacrifice, why would I say I want to distance myself from such?

Again, they accused us pastors of asking some people that have problems to go and bathe in a running stream, what is wrong with that, did such not happen in the Bible? Have we forgotten the story of Naman, the Syrian Army General who had leprosy and was looking for a cure, how Prophet Elisha asked him to go bathe inside River Jordan, and Naman was healed after complying with the prophet’s instruction, and this is why I said some people are dying due to ignorance.

Sacrifice is biblically ordained. I sacrificed animals and birds to offer prayers to cure and heal people of their ailments.

When I pray for you and it is revealed to me that I should kill duck, cow or even goat to offer prayers for you, I will tell you to make available such animals for sacrifice, and the moment we do that, you receive your healing.

When I kill fowl, goat, duck or even cow for sacrifice to heal somebody, I have not in any way transgressed. I’m only doing the will of Jesus Christ, who is my personal Lord and Saviour. Whatever is outside the Bible, you will never see me doing it.

Even in the book of Revelation, the use of leaves and herbs was recommended for healing. And for those who describe Ogboni fraternity as a cult, this is wrong. Ogboni is a society. We are transparent and honest people. Ogboni abhors evil. We are organized and disciplined. A cult is a group of people involved in secrecy, we are open to scrutiny. Let those who out of hearsay say evil about Ogboni be bold and come to our meeting and see whether it is true that we drink blood.

All those pastors saying rubbish about Ogboni are doing so to attract membership.
You say you sacrifice animals, if that is what is needed for someone’s prayers to be answered, but the Bible says Jesus has done that by His death, are you not going against the Bible?

Far from it! Whatever I do as Ogboni Pastor is biblically ordained and inspired. If you read your New Testament very well, Apostle Paul who is regarded as one of the most dynamic evangelists of his era says that without shedding blood, that there is no redemption. Am I the one that put that in the Bible? Even when Jesus Christ was about to be dedicated, His parents, Joseph and Mary took pigeons and doves to the church which were slaughtered as a sacrifice.

You also read in several other places both in the Old and New Testament where blood sacrifice took place. You remember the case of Cain and Abel. I even read Bible before I carry out this killing of animals as sacrifice in order to save souls.

THE FACTS ABOUT GOD'S LOVE

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: THE FACTS ABOUT GOD'S LOVE

TEXT: 1 John 4:7-12

There is nothing like the love of God! It is the most overwhelming thing I have ever encountered in my life. It is the greatest thing God ever did for any of us! The reason I can say that is this, because He loved us, He was moved to do everything else that He has done. Allow me to say that John's epistle has a 4-fold purpose.

That our joy might be full. (1:4)

That we might not sin. (2:1)

That we might know that we have eternal life. (5:13)

That we ourselves might love others.(4:11)

1 John is the great book of love. It is mentioned 46 times in 135 verses. It was written to combat a heresy known as Gnosticism. The Gnostic believed that knowledge was power.
They felt that they had a special knowledge of God and His ways. John is writing to put them into their place! And, as he does, he tells the rest of us about a great God with a great love for great sinners. It's that great love of that Great God that I want to address for a few minutes. Let the Lord speak to your heart as we consider the thought, What Are The Facts About God's Love.

I. V. 7-11 THIS LOVE IS DESCRIBED IN THE CONTEXT

A. It Is Unspeakable -
I can't understand it, or why, but I know I have experienced it and I can never be separated from it - Rom. 8:38-39

B. It Is Unending - Jer. 31:3…
I have loved you with an everlasting love! God's love is eternal!

C. It Is Unselfish - Ill.
It asks for nothing in return! However, it leads man to repent and turn to God in love - Rom. 2:4; 1 John 4:19- We love him because He first loved us!

D. It Is Unmerited -
Cannot be earned or deserved!. (Ill. His love is based in His grace!) (Ill. Jesus and Jerusalem - Matt. 23:37.)

E. It Is Unconditional -
It is not based on what we can or cannot produce, it comes from the heart of God. Man can never reach a place when he will not be loved by God! God loved us first, He loved us anyway and He loves us eternally!

F. His love is Supernatural,
it is Sacrificing, it is Satisfying!

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME, LET YOUR LOVE SPEAK SALVATION, DELIVERANCE, FAVOUR, BLESSING AND BREAKTHROUGH IN TO OUR LIFE IN JESUS NAME

The Vatican Says Jesus Is Not Coming Back

I know many will not find this funny but if you are one of those expecting that Jesus Christ is coming very soon, then you may just have to shelve that thought because according to waterfordwhispersnews.com, the Vatican, the seat of the Roman Catholic Church Worldwide has admitted that Jesus is not coming in again.
The website quoted a spokesperson of the Vatican that it has officially announced that the second coming of Jesus, the only son of the God, may not happen now after all, but urged followers to still continue with their faith, regardless of the news.
It is reported that Cardinal Giorgio Salvadore told waterfordwhispersnews.com that this years 1,981st anniversary is to be the Vatican’s last in regards to waiting for the Lord to return to earth.

This is what the Cardinal Giorgio Salvadore said:
We just feel Jesus is not coming back by the looks of it.
It’s been ages like this. He’s probably flat out doing other really good things for people somewhere else.
Nearly two thousand years ago, Jesus promised his disciples that he would come again in chapter John 14:1-3 of the bible:
'There are many homes up where my Father lives, and I am going to prepare them for your coming.
When everything is ready, then I will come and get you, so that you can always be with Me where I am. If this weren’t so, I would tell you plainly.'

The Vatican defended Jesus’ 'broken promise', claiming 'he was probably drinking wine' at the time when he made the comments.
Having the ability to turn water into wine had its ups and its downs.
We all make promises we can’t keep when we’re drunk. Jesus was no different.
The church said it will now focus attentions on rebuilding its reputation around the world, but will keep an optimistic mind for the savior’s second coming.

So do you think the Vatican may be right after all?

Mysterious Snakes, Bees Attack Boko Haram Camp; Kill Many

What Nigerian Soldiers are finding hard to do, Snakes and Bees are coming to the rescue. Some Boko Haram members are now fleeing from their Sambisa Forest base to local government areas across Borno State due to the invasion of their camps in a mysterious manner, believed to be a spiritual attack.

One of the arrested sect members, Kolo Mustapha, confessed to Dailypost that snakes were attacking them in the forest and this is making their lives very difficult.

“They (our leaders) told us that it was the people of Chibok that are hunting us through diabolical means in the form of snakes.
Most of us are fleeing because there are too many snakes now in the forest, once they bite, they disappeared and the victims do not last for 24 hours...
“We were told that the people of Chibok local government are the ones turning into snake and attacking us in the forest,” he disclosed.
Nigeriaonpoint.Com gathered that Boko Haram are now trying to fortify themselves against spiritual attacks. lol!

Facts About Hell

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: 5 Facts About Hell

Scripture: “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.’ . . . and these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matthew 25:41, 46

The subject of hell is not as enjoyable as last week’s topic, Heaven. But Jesus didn’t ignore it, and we can’t either. Here are five things you need to know:

1. Hell is Real

Jesus spoke about hell often. He said, “But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.” (Luke 12:5) Jesus never hinted that hell is an imaginary place. Hell is real.

2. Hell is Eternal

“And the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” (Revelation 20:10)

Some people think that when Christians go to Heaven, non-believers simply won’t exist anymore. That isn’t true. The Bible tells us that we will either go to eternal punishment or eternal life. (Matthew 25:46)

3. You Can’t Escape Hell By Being Good

Many people believe that they are good enough for Heaven, and that only “really bad” people go to hell. But what does the Bible say? John 3:18 says “whoever doesn’t believe is condemned already.” It’s not about being good enough. It is about believing and accepting Jesus Christ.

4. There are No Second Chances

Some people believe they will get another chance to receive Jesus after they die. However, scripture doesn’t tell us we have another chance. Hebrews 9:27 says “people are destined to die once and after that to face judgement.” There isn’t a second chance to accept Christ. That’s why “. . . now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).

5. God is Always Right

Does it seem unfair that God would condemn someone to eternal punishment for their sins? Even the Bible writers asked: “What shall we say then? Is there injustice on God's part? By no means!” (Romans 9:14)

All of us have sinned against God (Psalm 51:4). But God freely offers us eternal life with Him. All you have to do is accept Him. Praise God for sending Jesus to die on the cross to cleanse us of our sins. God made a way for us to be cleansed and rescued from hell!

Now that you know what your two eternal choices are, tell your friends and family

LET US PRAY
ME AND YOU WILL ESCAPE HELL IN JESUS NAME. AMEN

GAINING GODS WISDOM FOR LIFE. HOW?

CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: GAINING GODS WISDOM FOR LIFE. HOW?

TEXT: Proverbs 2:1-7

A growing number of people in our world fail to seek God for His wisdom. Instead, they strive to satisfy their passions and desires without regard to their futures or to the consequences of their decisions.

This is a spiritually dangerous way to live. When we try to live apart from the counsel of God’s wisdom, we suffer disillusionment, fear, doubt, worry, and frustration. Our lives fall apart when we do not involve the Savior in our decisions.

The wisest approach to life’s challenges is to seek God for His plan, direction, and spiritual insight. But how can we do that? The next time you face a challenge or an important decision, seek God’s wisdom by doing the following:

• Seek Him—If you want to know God’s heart on a given issue or when you have to make a difficult decision, ask Him. Take time to pray—but in your times of prayer, don’t do all the talking. Listen for God’s still, small voice whispering His words of guidance and encouragement to you.

• Meditate on God’s Word—You will gain insight into God’s mind and heart by studying Scripture and meditating on its truth. Difficult decisions become easier to make when God is the One guiding you.

• Obey the principles of Scripture—When you set your heart on obeying God, He will teach you how to apply His truth in your life. Then you will know the way of wisdom.

• Observe the faithfulness of God—The Lord has never failed to keep a single promise He has made. The Bible is full of testimonies that celebrate His goodness and love. Learn to claim His promises as you read His Word.

• Heed godly counsel—God can use a pastor or trusted Christian friend to help you see beyond your weaknesses. Don’t hesitate to share your needs and fears with those who love the Lord and you.

• Associate with wise people—Choose your friends wisely. Include God in every relationship, and you will establish a strong, godly base of counselors to support you in making wise decisions.

Because God loves us, we have no need to worry about the future. He has a plan, not only for our lives, but also for every problem we face. Oswald Chambers said, “All our fret and worry is caused by calculating without God.” Take time today to renew your trust in God and His ability to provide the wisdom you need

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME, GUIDE US WITH YOUR DIVINE WISDOM IN ALL OUR LIVES IN JESUS NAME. AMEN

God can do anything!

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: God can do anything!

Scripture:”Because she thought, 'If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.' Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.” (Mark 5:28-29) “He said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.’” (Mark 5:34)

Do you sometimes doubt that God can do anything?

Stories like the one about the bleeding woman are proof that He can. So don’t hesitate to ask God about anything. He will provide for you in ways you may not even expect. If you’re having trouble trusting God the devil is just around the conner
Continue trusting him and he will prove himself in your life for good

Sudanese Court Orders Release Of Christian Woman Sentenced To Death

The 27-year-old was sentenced to death last month for converting from Islam to Christianity and gave birth to a daughter in jail. A Sudanese court has ordered the release of the woman sentenced to death for converting to Christianity, according to state media.

The case of Meriam Ibrahim, who is married to a Christian American, triggered an international outcry. She gave birth to their baby daughter while in prison.

She was convicted last month of apostasy and adultery and claimed she was a Christian, having been raised by her Ethiopian mother while her Muslim father had left when she was young.

The 27-year-old married Daniel Wani in 2011 and has refused to renounce her faith.

But a court in Khartoum insisted she was a Muslim, and in Sudan such interfaith marriage is forbidden.

Ms Ibrahim has been accused of converting from Islam to Christianity.

She was sentenced to 100 lashes for adultery and to hang for apostasy.

"The appeal court ordered the release of Meriam Yahya and the cancellation of the (previous) court ruling," Sudan's SUNA news agency said

STEPS TO TRUE REPENTANCE

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: STEPS TO TRUE REPENTANCE

Scripture: “If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” I John 1:8-9

Imagine that a well-known preacher has just spoken at your church service. The preacher is wearing nice clothes, and people are crowding around him so they can shake his hand.

Then just a few feet away, you spot a criminal who has recently been released from prison. He is poorly dressed, smells worse than he looks, and no one wants to go near him or talk to him.

As the preacher talks to his admirers, you are surprised to hear him say things like: “I am a really good person, because I preach really good messages and never break any of God’s rules.” “People should follow my example. I do not break the law, like that bad criminal over there.”

As you draw closer, you notice the criminal is crying. He buries his face in his hands and falls to his knees. He cries out to God and says, “Lord, please forgive me for all I have done! I am a terrible sinner, and I need You to change my life.”

Jesus told a story like this in Luke 18. He said, “this sinner, not the [preacher], returned home justified before God” (Luke 18:14).

Who would you rather be like: The preacher who showed up to God’s house bragging about his own goodness? Or the humble criminal who knew he was unworthy and desperately needed God’s forgiveness? Remember, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart…” (Psalm 51:17) God loves a humble heart.

If you want to repent, the first thing you have to do is recognize your sin. After you recognize your sin, humbly confess your sin to God and agree with Him about how serious it is. The last step to repentance is to thank God for His forgiveness, and ask Him for the Holy Spirit’s power to turn away from that sin.

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME, LORD JESUS DEAL WITH MY SELF GLORIFICATION AND GRATIFICATION AND ACCEPT ME AS YOUR CHILD IN JESUS NAME. AMEN

CONFUSION AMONG BOKO HARAM: Terrorists Fear Their Commanders; Flee Sambisa Forest

Nigerian Army soldiers patrol Sambisa Forest

Two Boko Haram terrorists have left the camps in Sambisa Forest for Bama local government area of Borno State out of fear of being killed by their commanders.

According to DailyTrust, Boko Haram leaders are neutralizing fellow members in every case they show resistance, inclusing those who joined the sect willingly and those who were forced to

Bama youths say the two fugitives are known for their ties with the sect, and, upon sighting them, tried to capture them. However, one of the suspect managed to flee.

Upon interogation, the caught terrorist has revealed they have run away from Sabisa Forest out of fears for their lives.

Recall that a few days ago, aide to President Goodluck Jonathan on New Media, Reno Omokri, has shared some photographs of Nigerian Army soldiers combing the vast territory of Sambisa Forest.

The area is notorious for serving as a perfect hide-out for Boko Haram fighters.

ONE DAY YOU WILL MEET YOUR FATHER IN HIS HOME.

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: ONE DAY YOU WILL MEET YOUR FATHER IN HIS HOME.

TEXT: John 14:1-3 KJV
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. [2] In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so , I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

A preacher preached a sermon on hell and a woman asked him if he had any children. He replied that he did. "Do you love them?" she asked. "Oh yes," the preacher answered. "Well," the woman said, "what would you think of a father who could save his children from suffering and refused to do it?" "I would say that he was a tyrant and a monster," the preacher said. "That's what you're making God out to be. God would be a monster if He sent his children to hell instead of delivering them by his power." "But lady," the preacher responded, "you're making one mistake. God doesn't have any children in hell and he never will have. The people in hell are the devil's children. All of God's children are in heaven or on the way there. God has a home for His children and the devil has a home for his."

He was right. God is the Father only of those who believe in Jesus Christ....who have been born again. Too many people are presuming on the goodness of God as an excuse for sin. They say, "Let us live as we please. God is too good to punish us." One day they are going to have a rude awakening.

The Bible, God's inerrant Word, tell us that there is both a heaven and a hell. If we receive one and reject the other, we are reflecting upon the truth of God's Word. But we are not left to depend upon the opinions and speculations of men. We must rest upon the infallible truth of the infallible Bible.

You may deny the fact of hell, but that does not change the fact that it exists. Fire burns, whether you choose to believe that it does or not...poison kills, whether you believe it will or not. The world is round, whether you believe it or not....and hell is a reality whether you believe it or not. And if you reject the offer Christ is making today, you will go to hell, whether you believe you will or not

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME SAVE US FROM GOING TO HELL AND REDEEM US TO YOUR HEAVENLY KINGDOM IN JESUS NAME. AMEN

WHO IS GODS TRUE CHILD ?

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: WHO IS GODS TRUE CHILD ?

The Certainty of Hell

Today many learned men deny the existence of hell. We have come to a time when we talk glibly about the brotherhood of man and the fatherhood of God.

We imply that everybody loves everybody else and that all men are saved. We think of God as a great big beneficient Santa Claus, smiling down upon all. But God is not the father of all. He is the Creator of all, but not the Father of all. He becomes our father only when we come to Christ.

Jesus said in John 8:44, "Ye are of your father the devil...." He was thinking of lost people.
John 1:12 tells us that "as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God.....

" These are the ones who can claim God as Father. They are saved, and they'll never go to hell. But remember this, you are not a child of God until you come unto Him through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.
Accept Jesus Christ into your life today. God bless you

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME, LET YOUR BLOOD WASH ME AND MARK ME AS ONE OF YOUR CHILDREN FOR YOUR KINGDOM IN JESUS NAME
Amen

Reasons for Preaching on Hell,

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Reasons for Preaching on Hell,
(AWAKENING SLEEPING PREACHERS)

1. We must preach on hell because it's in the Bible. Do you want you preacher to preach his own ideas or the Word of God. You will reply, "Let him preach God's Word." Therefore he must preach the whole counsel of God. He must preach about heaven and delight in it. He must preach about hell even though he dislikes to do so. The preacher has not been called to tell what he believes, or what his church thinks, or what someone writes in a magazine. He must preach what God says. We know what God says is true. We know that there is a hell. We know that we must warn men to escape the "wrath to come".

So, let today's preacher preach on hell. But let him preach it in love. A great teacher once said, "Young men, you should preach on hell but let it be with a broken heart and tears in your eyes." We must tell men about the everlasting home of the doomed, but we must [sorrow?] over those who are condemned. And we must tell them of a loving Saviour whose death makes it possible for them to avoid hell.

2. We must preach on hell to awaken Christians. People all around us are going to hell. They are getting closer to the flames everyday. But we are asleep; we dont' realize what peril they are in. It may be someone very near and dear to you. If I can get you to see their lost condition and how hell is waiting for them, maybe you'll start praying and working for their salvation.

General Booth of the Salvation Army was speaking to a graduating class in the Army's training school. These young people had been there several years, learning how to work for God and win souls. The general said, "Young men, if I could have had my way, I would never have had you here for these years of training. But I would have put you in hell for 24 hours. I would have allowed you to feel the pains and pangs of the damned, to hear the weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. I would have caused you to see how they suffer forever. Then I would have sent you out into the world to warn men to flee from the wrath to come." General Booth was right. If we really knew what hell was like, nothing could stop us from urging men to come to Christ. So we must preach on hell, hoping that people will get concerned for their friends and loved ones who are going there.

3. We must preach on hell to warn sinners. It's an awful thing to remember that you could be in hell in another minute. No doctor can guarantee you of even one minute of life. David said, "there is but a step between me and death." (I Sam. 20:3) I have looked out into my congregation and seen someone in good health, well and strong, and before another Sunday they had gone to be with the Lord. It could happen to you; it could happen to me. What if you are not ready? What if Christ is not your Saviour? This means that you would be doomed forever.

Some people had no use for the Gospel. They hated preachers and laughed at Bible truth. Now they are in hell. Let's talk to one of them for a minute.

"Did you intend to come to hell?"

"No," he answers, "I meant all along to become a Christian and get ready for death. But I waited too long. Death slipped up on me and the next thing I knew I was in hell."

"Were you a wicked man? Were you a drunkard, or a thief, or a murderer or adulterer?"

"Oh no," he answers, "I lived a pretty good life, but I left out the main thing. I left Christ out of my life."

So today we have to preach on hell to warn men. Look all around you, lost sinner. People are dying every day. Your hour is coming. I want you to realize the seriousness of it and come to Christ. This is the only way you can escape hell.
. . . . . CONTINUE TOMORROW

KNOWING ABOUT HELL AND HOW TO ESCAPE IT

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: KNOWING ABOUT HELL AND HOW TO ESCAPE IT

TEXT: Luke 16:19-31

And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. [24] And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. [25] But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. [26] And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

We have come to a time when few people believe in a literal Hell. Yet it is still in the Bible, and it is still true because the Word of God is true. Men change their ideas but God's truth is always the same.
The great Eternal God tells us that there is an eternal Hell for all those who reject Christ and live without God. Preaching on hell has diminished.

We hear many light, fluffy sermons about peace, goodness, brotherhood, and the social gospel, but some congregations never hear hell even mentioned. Please don't miss this week of morning meal so as to be better informed about hell and reason why you must not go there
Some people brought a boy to church sometimes ago. When the boy reached home after the service,
his father asked him how he liked the sermon.
"I liked it pretty good," said the boy, "but the preacher used a bad word right there in the pulpit. He used the word 'hell' over and over again."
That boy had never heard the word used except in a bad sense. Yes, preaching about hell has cooled off, but hell is as hot as ever.
The Bible that tells us of a wonderful heaven also tells us of an awful hell. God created hell just as sure as he created heaven. One is just as real, just as necessary, just as lasting as the other.

Luke 16:27-31 KJV
Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: [28] For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. [29] Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. [30] And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. [31] And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
Brethren, are you willing to know about hell so as to run from it or you always keep away from such preaching and still continue in the act that will lead you to hell? Remember TO BE FOREWARN IS TO BEFORE HARMED

. . . I will continue tomorrow. Be informed HELL IS REAL ! YOU DONT HAVE TO GO THERE

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME, LORD HELP US TO ESCAPE HELL AND PUT YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS UPON US IN JESUS NAME

According to the fresh report by The Cable, soldiers of the 144 battalion of the Nigerian Army, Asa, Ukwa West Local Government Area, carried out the arrest along the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway.

It was provided that 33 buses conveying 486 people were stopped, while some more buses sped off and managed to drive away. Those detained are believed to be Boko Haram militants, however military are yet to establish a link between them and the sect. The people pleaded not guilty saying they had come from the country north in search for jobs.

Confirming the information to the journalists the battalion commander Lt. Colonel Rasheed Omolori said 2 buses escaped adding that the incident was reported to defence headquarters located in Abuja. No other details were provided by the military official.

The commissioner for information and strategy, Dr. Eze Chikamnayo, who also attended the briefing, wondered why such a "long convoy" had not been stopped before reaching Abia and considered the sheer size of the movement suspicious.

Military and state officials claimed that the investigation into the arrest had started.

It would be recalled that the yesterday's rumour said that the insurgents had planted explosives in trailers in Aba city of the state, which IEDs were discovered by local vigilantes. This caused panic among the residents that Boko Haram violence might have spread to the country south.

Boko Haram Kidnaps Prince; Kills More In Latest Deadly Attack

The madness is far from being over. the insurgency in the Northeast of Nigeria continue to claim more lives as the terrorists invaded a market in Borno State at weekend, leaving many dead and injured in their wake.

The Boko Haram members attacked Daku village in the southern area of the state yesterday and also visited Gumsa village in Yobe where they kidnapped a Prince whose father is the head of distract.
Eyewitnesses and security officials say that about 25 people were killed in the attack which occurred at about 11am on Sunday and was carried out by about 20 gunmen, some of whom were dressed in military uniform.

Those who survived the attack said they saw more than 20 of the gunmen who arrived at the village driving a Toyota Hilux vehicle and motorcycles...

The gunmen, according to an official of the Nigeria vigilante, killed about 25 people and set houses and shops ablaze after looting food items.

“They actually targeted food and other supplies during the attack, but they also shot at the people sporadically which led to the death of about 25 people and injuring many others,” said Muhammed Gava, an official of the Nigeria Vigilante who was quoting from a report he received from his members in Askira Uba.

Pastor & Wife Fight Over Who Owns Their Church

With the kind of strange events we see these days, it appears we are living in the last days, after all. How do we take this mess involving a Pastor and his Prophetess wife? It is really sad!

As you read this, Pastor Ralph Okebu (47) and his wife Prophetess Caroline Okebu (51) are at loggerheads over ownership of their church, Victory Pentecostal Ministries International Incorporated in Enugu state.

Things are so bad at the moment that the church is divided into two factions. The members who belong to the camp of Pastor Ralph Okebu turn up for worship in the morning while those who hold allegiance to his wife, Prophetess Caroline Okebu attend their own service in the afternoon, inside the same church.
In fact, before the worship arrangement was arrived at, worshippers on both sides had fought physically over the use of the church auditorium located at Km 1 Enugu/Onitsha Expressway. A source said it took the intervention of the police to restore some form of order in the church as they were stationed in the premises for two Sundays to avoid bloodshed...

Narrating how the crisis began, a lawyer who happens to be the church administrator, Chuks Okonkwo, told the SUN that, "problem arose in the Church about last year... it followed a prophecy that was released by the prophetess in the ministry, Prophetess Caroline Okebu.

Part of these prophecies touched on the general wellbeing of the Church while a part of it touched on certain members of the Church, including the head pastor, Pastor Ralph Okebu. But the personal message that touched on Pastor Ralph Okebu could be seen to be what led to the factionalisation of the Church.

In the Pastor's thinking, such a message by his wife shouldn’t have been revealed on the pulpit because the said message had to do with his amorous relationship with some female members of the church.

And that was how the war began!
Continuing, the lawyer said the police came in and the Enugu State Commissioner of Police personally took over the matter and was mediating. So, as this lasted, the police at some point, about three months ago, decided with the leadership of both factions that the Ralph Okebu led group should be having morning service to dismiss at 12noon while the Prophetess Caroline led group should have their own service thereafter.

Things are so bad that Pastor Okebu and his wife Prophetess Caroline Okebu are no longer living together.

THE BITTER TRUTH: 20 Questions About Boko Haram

1. Which of the PDP presidential candidate hopefuls is implicated as late NSA Andrew Azazi inferred, that after being deprived in the PDP primaries, went on to upgrade Boko Haram to its today level of sophistication? Atiku? IBB? Gusau? Saraki?

2. Was NSA Andrew Owoye Azazi truly killed for exposing the major sponsors of Boko Haram among the PDP presidential primaries contestants?

3. Is Boko Haram really a kill-yourself-to-win strategy of northern elite to occupy the presidential slot? If so, why did the northern elite, when they had the chance give the slot to southern Obasanjo?

4. Why has Boko Haram never crossed the Niger or Benue bridge and only limits its destruction and terror to the north and north residing Nigerians?

5. Why does Boko Haram exterminate and eliminate the farmers it lives near and that are its only source of food and sustenance?

6. What is their agenda? Judging by their only recognizable mission, are they set out to destroy farming in Nigeria and the north’s primary resource? Recognizing that in their four years of major carnage, they have almost exclusively targeted farmers in the north and farming villages killing over 80,000 farmers and displacing 3 million.

7. Is there any truth to the claims that Bill Gates and other Monsanto and GMO related big corp. in cooperation with Nigeria’s Agriculture Minister are behind Boko Haram for population control and to take over indigenous farming in Nigeria?

8. Is there any truth to Dauda Ojobi’s claim that it is a CAN conspiracy identical to the Maitatsine of the 70s and 80s, one who several accounts say was a Christian acting covertly, twisting Islam with acts like promoting three instead of two prostrations? Is this the reason why they hastily killed Sheikh Albani Zaria right after he publicly interviewed Dauda Ojobi?

9. Why does President Jonathan protect Boko Haram sponsors? Why has he dodged bringing a single one to book despite of international disgrace and 4 painful years of deaths to Nigerians in the north?

10. What is the connection of Vice President Namadi Sambo with the group? Recalling his links to major sponsor, Alhaji Nuhu, arrested in 2012; and Senator Ndume’s sworn court testimonies implicating him.

11. Why did PDP Party Chairman Bamanga Tukur, one of President Jonathan’s best friends and confidantes in PDP in 2012 say, “Boko Haram is fighting for justice; Boko Haram is another name for justice?” What justice did the PDP chairman refer to? Did the farmers of Nigeria’s north do anyone an injustice? Did the traders do anyone an injustice? Does the extermination of farming and trade in the north of Nigeria bring justice – for who and how? Further to this question, why did President Jonathan fight to keep him as PDP party chairman despite these statements in support of Boko Haram terror? Why did Jonathan hire this Boko Haram supporter to his position today as Chairman Nigerian Railway corp?

12. Why did the government seize the guns the people of Borno used to defend themselves with in the beginning and now ignores their demand for the right to bear arms to defend their communities from Boko Haram’s endless onslaught?

13. Why is the Nigerian military systematically arming Boko Haram with their tanks, Armored Personnel carriers, APC’s and all other weapons when they allow Boko Haram to easily pick these up from their Barracks’ and the army never goes after them to retrieve these or bomb and destroy them?

14. How is it possible for Boko Haram to continue for four years to drive in 50 hilux truck, APC and slow moving tank convoys, spend hours destroying villages and drive comfortably home without Nigerian gun choppers and air force jets ever bombing them?

15. What helicopters have been giving Boko Haram cover and supplying them food and weapons in their hideouts and at their areas of attack? Are these personal copters or as some have reported in global media, choppers of the Nigerian army?

16. Why did/does president Jonathan use billions of the nation’s money to finance a Niger Delta ex-militant terrorist, Tompolo to build a private citizen army to supposedly protect the oil pipelines which are today, despite this initiative, more vandalized than even in Nigeria’s history; yet Jonathan denies similar arming and equipping of Nigerians who wish to tackle the insecurity crises and wage war against Boko Haram in the jungles of the north east, including arming the tested and rather successful Civilian-JTF (who are not unrepentant terrorists like Tompolo and Dokubo), who have used sticks and knives alone to contribute tremendously toward the security in Borno, many dying in this ultimate patriotic sacrifice.

17. What is that truth that the Borno state governor said his ‘political responsibility’ is stopping him from exposing about Boko Haram? Which heads did he imply will roll if he confessed? Is this about the sponsors of the terror or about the deliberate government failures in abating it which also amount to sponsorship of the deadly menace?

18. Why does the current administration support and promote libel against ex-President general Buhari despite knowing that when he challenged their spokesperson, Reuben Abati and the Guardian newspaper to court for associating his words with terror, in an out-of court settlement, Rueben Abati and the Guardian were forced to apologize and published this apology and retraction of the now globally spread libel in the Guardian of Thursday, 11th July, 2013?

19. Why do Boko Haram bombing activities coincide with political wars, most especially tribulations for the ruling party? And why has the ruling party and the national security service and top office been unable to get any reasonable hand on the terror despite the nations abundant wealth, and all the means available to the security department?

20. Why is Special Assistant to the Nigerian President on New Media, ‘Pastor’ Reno Omokri, a.k.a. Wendell Simlin still a free man?

Pastor Impregnaté Choir Girl Secretly In Lagos, Now She's Dead

These days, many men are deceiving themselves séxually. This is the shocking result of self-deceit:
As you read this, the family of a young woman who was impregnated by a Christ Embassy pastor in Lagos is now insisting that he must perform all the necessary marriage rites and marry her despite her death.

28-year-old Vivian Ndukwu, a choir member in one of the Christ Embassy church in Lagos was said to have been in a secret affair with the pastor simply identified as Hillary and he eventually got her pregnant.

The pastor planned with Vivian to lie to her parents and relocate to a safe place where she could have the baby. She hid the pregnancy from her family and told them she was going to Abuja.
But she and the pastor arranged and she went to Agbara in Ogun where she delivered the baby, a girl, with the connivance of a woman who runs a orphanage.
But unfortunately, a few days after giving birth, Vivian developed some serious complications and before she could be treated she lost her life...

Vivian stayed at the orphanage until she was delivered of a baby girl on May 3, 2014. It was learnt that eight days after the delivery, Vivian was taken to a hospital after she complained of fever and headache.

She died in the course of treatment and her remains had been taken to Badagry General Hospital morgue.

According to Punch, the orphanage owner, Mrs. Grace Kato, claimed that Vivian never stayed at her place.

She said, “Vivian called me three days after the birth of her baby. She said she wanted me to help her with the hospital bills, that she was stranded in the hospital. Out of compassion, I went to the hospital to help.”

She claimed she took Vivian home after delivery to rest at her place for 2 days before returning to her parents.

She added that Vivian, however, ended up staying at her place for five days before she died.

In the word of the Madam Grace Kato:
“I brought her to my house to rest for a day or two before taking her to her parents. In the process, I had to travel for my uncle’s burial. That was why she stayed that long because she was waiting for me to return. I came back on Saturday night, May 10, and the next day, she complained of a slight headache and we took her to another hospital nearby. That was where she died.”

But the hospital where Vivian died claimed that she was rushed to the hospital unstable and restless.

A doctor in the hospital said the people on duty stabilised her condition and referred her to a general hospital.

The hospital source, who preferred to remain anonymous, said:
“She was brought in on May 11, at about 1.20pm, unstable and restless. The story was that her complaint started that morning. Her blood pressure was also high. Being that we were not in possession of her past medical records, we acted based on clinical situation and referred her to a general hospital.

“The people that brought her left and so there was no one to take her to where she had been referred to hours after stabilising her condition. Several calls to the number they gave us were replied with one story or the other. At some point, the lady started gasping, and eventually died. It was not until the following day that they came to pick up her remains.”

The father of the deceased, Emmanuel Ndukwu.
He told Punch on the telephone that the orphanage founder had agreed with her late daughter to take custody of the child after delivery without the consent of the family. He said he and his wife knew nothing about the pregnancy, adding that his daughter left his house and told the family that she was going to Abuja.

He said, “After telling us that she was going to Abuja, we did not hear from her until her death. But we later learnt that Grace (orphanage owner) and her husband had organised a naming ceremony for the new baby without informing us."

Mr Ndukwu said he was not aware of the relationship between his daughter and Pastor Hillary until her death.

He said, “My family and the pastor’s family have met and we agreed that Hillary will perform all the marriage rites for my late daughter according to the tradition of our people. We are doing this because a child is involved. The pastor did not deny his responsibility, so the normal thing must be done.”

The police in Lagos said they are investigating the sad incident and all the parties involved.

EXPOSED: Naija Babes Now Sell Their Private Parts & Wombs

Hmmm...things are happening these days! The Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) on Thursday in Abuja revealed that some Nigerian women now sell their private parts, wombs, ovaries and human eggs as commodities in the global bio‑technology market all in a bid to make quick money.
“Some scientists and dubious businessmen use members of the National Assembly to gain legal access to the wombs and ovaries of women and young girls.
“It is becoming increasingly clear to us that even in Nigeria, our women have become the targets of all manners of intrigues, especially as their fertility is concerned.
“Personal private parts of women, ranging from wombs, ovaries and human eggs risk being put up as commodities for sale at the global biotechnology market-places.”

President of CBCN and Archbishop of Jos, Most Rev. Ignatius Kaigama, disclosed this at the International Family and Pro‑Life Conference tagged: “Witnesses to the dignity of every human life” in Abuja.

Speaking on the topic: “Catholic Church in Nigeria and the imperative of scaling up pro‑life activities across the country,” the Bishop revealed that most of the transactions were done with people who hold influential positions in the society.

“Regrettably, human life has become cheaper than a loaf of bread. From hijacking and loss of airborne planes to the avoidable mishaps of sinking of ships and ferries loaded with passengers, to the mindless wars and avoidable military conflicts, human lives are wantonly wasted everywhere, everyday in Nigeria,” the respected bishop cried out.

10 Things that Kills a Relationship Slowly.

10 Things that Kills a Relationship Slowly.

1. {Issues not discussed}– There could be some areas you desire to have your partner change or get better at. If you choose to keep mute about it and you such keeps receiving your attention and you just can’ ignore, it kills relationships slowly.

2. {Lies}– Well, this cannot be overstretched. The more you lie to your partner, the lesser he/she trust you, and when trust is gone in a relationship, that’s trouble!

3. {Not sharing}– No one forms a relationship by themselves. It takes two to get at it. A balanced relationship demands the effort of the-two involved. It’s about what you-two bring to the center. The pressure would be one-sided if one person chooses to be greedy. Sharing is one of many things that powers a relationship and makes it balance.

4. {Romance Wanted}– Absence of romance in a relationship makes it boring, Romance is sensual and not always sexual. Identify those things that could create an intimate moment, things that sponsors good connection between you-two and starting doing them. The importance is simply to keep the attraction alive.

5. {Blaming Your Partner}– Yes! Keep blaming your partner for everything that’s wrong in your relationship and watch it die slowly. When you see more of his/her faults, there will always be something to complain about and the more you blame the more the relationship would lose its value.

6. {Lack of Communication}– Not in the area of phone calling or text messages though also important but specifically in the awareness of things to do or how to do them. Both parties must be kept abreast of what’s coming. Make your moves, schedules, work or some family related details clear to your partner. Always keeping them in the dark brings about uncertainties that could cause regular misunderstanding in a relationship.

7. {Cohabitation}– It’s one of the easiest ways to make your partner get fed up with the relationship. When you become too regular, so many things could lose its value and get lost accordingly.

8. {Pretense} – You seem to be too cool at everything because you want to impress him/her, that’s trouble! Whatever happens to being you should be reversed. Your partner could take it as being nice or tolerant. In a real relationship, no one is a cell- mate, you just be you!

9. {Poor Timing}– Whatsoever is sharing your quality time with your partner needs to be transferred on another time slot. Having the space for regular conversation strengthens your relationship and if it’s an LDR, you either could talk regularly on phone or pick a day or two in every week for this. Good time spent together reveals a lot, strengthens the bond, secures the relationship and it helps in no little measure.

10. {Too Many Expectations}– You want him/her to know what you want without saying it? You expect him/her to remember almost everything even when he/she has got several matters demanding his/her attention? Yes, we are in love and you sure mean a lot to us but we are human as well. Expect more and see more faults, expect less and you will be able to appreciate your partner more. If there are issues not discussed in a relationship, it could make both partners keep hurtful secrets and in turn produce beautiful lies. Blaming your partner while you appear to be without fault doesn’t make you in-charge but out rightly discharging the strength of the union. Cohabiting, though allowed in many countries is one major reason relationships will always lose its value quickly and another reason men and women would be used and abandoned. Somethings do NOT go together with a relationship and do remember that the best of relationships comes with several sacrifices made. THANK.

DEDICATED TO MY WIFE AND ALL GODLY WOMEN

DEDICATED TO MY WIFE OMOLOLA ISRAEL
and all the Godly women in the world.
I CELEBRATE YOU SWEETHEART

WOMEN HAS A DESTINY
And their destiny is divine, it is from the lord
And it is indirectly for them because it is directly for their husband.
That was why the Bible says " he who find them (woman) fine Gods favour"

THAT IS TO SAY WOMEN ARE TWO THING
1. Gods favour and
2. Help meet

Hummm, talking about a "Help meet"
It is every woman divine destiny to be a helpmeet.

YES women are helper to men and that is their destiny, that is why if you have a woman from God you have a everything you need,
Be it riches, wealth, health, life, prosperity, reproduction, and all short of goodies of life can come through Woman of God to her husband.

No wonder every good and Godly woman everywhere, on the mountain, in every praying center etc, always seek the wellbeing of their husband and children first even before themselves, (because that is their destiny)

Can you see why some men (husband) who molest their wife and beat them, cheat on them or useless them will never sees Gods favour or divine help. (It is not a course, it is women's destiny)

And all woman who are wicked and evil only don't know whom God made them and don't know their destiny and the power God has endow them, hummm.

THAT MAKES ME TO KNOW THAT WOMEN HAS POWER

*Because they are world mother

*Because they are the source of human life (reproduction)

*Because of the birth pains and the shedding of birth blood, labour and travail during giving birth

*Because they decide whether the baby in their womb will be born or should be aborted (despite God will judge them, they must have carry out the act)

That is why despite they are helpless no one cheat them unjustly will go scot-free.

According to my own analysis 90% of woman who are so called "bad" are made bad by their husband or men somehow,
because women are so soft in mind that you can twist them as you like and they won't ague,
They are physically not fit to fight, but spiritually are strong and emotionally are able to cage any man under their power.

No wonder many men are under the captive of women without physically tie them or cage them. (That is women power on men)

When next you see a woman, treat them well, love them, help them, care for them and cherish them.
Women are not punching bags, they are our mother, they are lovely, Gods eye, Gods favour and our helper

That is why I cherish my beautiful and lovely wife Omolola Abosede Israel, my heart, my love, my jewel, Gods favour Gods help meet for me.
The mother of my children, she who gives me joy no one can give, who feed me with love and endless care which no one has and can never do for me,

I DEDICATE THIS ARTICLE TO HER, MY LOVE, MY HEART OMOLOLA ABOSEDE ISRAEL, if eventually its possible to marry in the next world (millennium of Christ) I will still propose marriage to you.
Am proud of you,

thank you for coming to my world,
I love you.
Your loving husband

Sudan apostasy woman: Meriam Ibrahim 'to be freed' after death sentence for marrying Christian man

Meriam Yahya Ibrahim, who was sentenced to death in Sudan after she married a Christian man, is to be freed, a Sudanese foreign ministry official has said.
The decision comes after the Sudanese government faced mounting pressure from the international community over her “barbaric” treatment.
Abdullahi Alzareg, an under-secretary at the foreign ministry, said the county was committed to protecting the woman and guaranteed religious freedom.
Ms Ibrahim, raised a Christian by her mother, was ruled by a judge to have turned her back on Islam and convicted of apostasy, because her father was a Muslim.
As well as marrying a Christian man, the 27-year-old doctor had refused to renounce her Christian faith.
Sentenced to death while eight months pregnant, Ms Ibrahim gave birth to her baby daughter Maya this week while shackled in heavy chains in the hospital wing of Omdurman Women’s Prison.
The judge annulled the Christian marriage and Ms Ibrahim was sentenced to an additional 100 lashes for adultery because her union was deemed illegitimate under Islamic law.

Boko Haram Arms Linked To 10 Guilty Generals

Though the military insisted there was no truth in the reports, several Nigerian newspapers said Tuesday that 10 generals and five other senior military officers have been found guilty in courts-martial of providing arms and information to Boko Haram extremists.
The newspaper reports follow months of allegations from politicians and soldiers who told The Associated Press that some senior officers were helping the Islamic extremists and that some rank-and-file soldiers even fight alongside the insurgents and then return to army camps. They have said that information provided by army officers has helped insurgents in ambushing military convoys and in attacks on army barracks and outposts in their northeastern stronghold.
One of our correspondents quoted one officer saying that four other officers, in addition to the 15, were found guilty of “being disloyal and for working for the members of the sect,”.

Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, who last week denied reports saying senior officers were being investigated, reiterated in a statement on Tuesday that defense headquarters “wishes to state once again categorically that there is no truth whatsoever in the report.”
He called it a “falsehood” concocted by those who “appear hell-bent on misleading Nigerians and the international community to give credence to the negative impression they are so keen to propagate about the Nigerian military.”

Nigeria’s military often denies substantiated reports, such as on extrajudicial killings of civilians and detainees. It is accused of such gross human rights violations that the U.S. efforts to help in the rescue of nearly 300 abducted schoolgirls have been limited by U.S. law restricting sharing of some types of information and technology with abusive security forces.

The alleged sabotage by senior officers could explain the military’s failure to curb a 5-year-old Islamic uprising by Boko Haram that has killed thousands despite a year-long state of emergency in the northeast.
Boko Haram has attracted international condemnation and U.N. sanctions since its April 15 abduction of more than 300 schoolgirls, of whom 272 remain captive.
Nigerian activists pressing the government to rescue the schoolgirls filed a complaint Tuesday against a police ban on protests.
“We filed a complaint that the police don’t have any right to stop people from expressing themselves,” said community leader Pogu Bitrus of Chibok.

The protests have “degenerated” and are “now posing a serious security threat,” Abuja police commissioner Joseph Mbu said in a statement Monday banning all protests in the capital related to the topic.
The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, said such a ban violates basic rights under the Nigerian constitution.
However, Nigerian police on Tuesday said they had not ordered a ban on peaceful assemblies or protests in Nigeria.

“The Police only issued advisory notice, enjoining citizens to apply caution in the said rallies,” the statement said. “Citizens are strongly advised to reconsider their positions on the issues of rallies and protests” given the current threats by militants.
The kidnapping crisis has highlighted Nigeria’s failure to curb Boko Haram’s uprising.

At Least 100 Killed By Boko Haram Members Disguised As Soldiers

Boko Haram insurgents disguised as military men have killed at least 100 men in the Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno state.

No fewer than 100 people have been killed in the latest of a series of attacks by Boko Haram insurgents in Borno state.

The attackers who struck in four different villages - Attagara, Agapalawa, Ngoshe and Aganjara all in the Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno state were reportedly carried out by Boko Haram members who were dressed in military uniforms. The men were also reported to have destroyed the telecommunication masts in the area during the attack.

The men were said to have come into the village under the pretext of protecting the villagers, only for them to turn around and begin shooting at the villagers. Those who attempted to run into the bush were gunned down by the men who reportedly came in terrain vehicles, motorbikes and armed with Kalashnikov assault weapons and rocket-propelled grenades.

Speaking on the attack, Hon. Peter Bive, the House of Reps member for Gwoza LGA said many were left dead in the attack.

According to him:

«“There were deadly attacks on these villages by Boko Haram insurgents who killed a large number of people and destroyed homes. We are still trying to compile a toll of the dead as people on the ground are still counting the number of casualties.Boko Haram have hoisted their flags in at least seven villages in the area which they now claim to be under their control,” he said.
