Sermon: TAKING THE RESPONSIBILITY OF RECEIVING

Sunday service sermon by Evangelist Y Pamdaya

Topic: TAKING THE RESPONSIBILITY OF RECEIVING

Text: 2 Peter 1:3 KJV
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

The only thing that is free brethren is your salvation, beside there are things you must do to be bless or to receive from the Lord, brethren am not talking of sacrificing to idol but self denying
So nothing is free.
The question we need to ask and have answer to is WHAT MUST I DO TO BE BLESS OF GOD? and that is our focus today

Gos created everything and make man to rule over them, so it mean that you have been provided for by the lord all that you need
2 Peter 1:3 KJV
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
This vers means all that you needs has already been giving you, name it, child, education, house etc
The question is WHERE US MY OWN BLESSING?
WHO IS HOLDING MY BLESSING ? Because the Bible say God has giving me, so God can't hold it away from me.

KEY TO RECEIVE FROM GOD

1. HAVE A HEAVENLY FOCUS.
Let your life center at the fact that you want to go heaven. So where is your focus
Matthew 6:33 KJV
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:19-20 KJV
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: [20] But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Colossians 3:1-2 KJV
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. [2] Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

2. FAITH
If the greatest prophecy is said in to your life if you lack faith nothing we happen, it is by faith you receive from God, every time we hear prophecies of blessing and miracle how many of it manifested in our life. How strong is your faith? The bible say if you have faith you can tell mountain to live and it shall be, its not a matter of running from one prophet to another
Mark 11:23-24 KJV
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. [24] Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them , and ye shall have them .

3. OBEDIENT
There is no anybody that has ever obey Gods word and lack, how obedient are you? If you disobey forget the blessing of God
Hebrews 5:9 KJV
And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
And again the Bible say if ye willing and obedient ye will eat the fruit of the land. Don't forget the sarephat widow, she use obedient to collect her blessing , she didn't refuse, she took care of Gods servant and was blessed, so many of us love to hide Gods blessing they are liars, the widow say this is all I have to the man of God when the man of God asked her, so many of us don't use to obey the alter call,

4. HAVING THE WISDOM OF GOD
Gods wisdom guide and help from falling into wrong hand, if you are not wise in this world you cant be blessed, because devil will make sure he deceive you, people will use you and dump you, and beside God can't entrust his blessing on fools who will mismanaging it.

5. YOU MUST ENLARGE YOUR CAPACITY

Isaiah 54:2-3 KJV
Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; [3] For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.
There are some miracles and Gods blessing that is too big for you and for your wisdom, so you need to enlarge your capacity, learn more, receive training of the word of God on how to manage Gods spiritual resources

6. ASK ACCORDING TO GODS WILL
1 John 5:14-15 KJV
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: [15] And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

IN CONCLUSION
God has already giving you all you need, including salvation, all you need to do is to reach your hand and get your, be save today and forever
Salvation is the gift of God. Gibe your life to Jesus

IOI CHRISTIAN MEAN. TITLE: ENEMY CAN BE DEFEATED

IOI CHRISTIAN MEAN
. . .CONTINUE FROM YESTERDAY

TOPIC: THE ENEMY CAN BE DEFEATED
TEXT: JOSHUA 9:22-27

A. 22 The Enemy Must Be Confronted - When Joshua found out what these people had done, he went straight to them and rebuked them and confronted them about their sins.

There is a lesson in that for the church this morning. We do not have to roll over and play dead while the devil molds us to his will! We need to be like the Lord Jesus, Who when He was tempted turned to the Word of God and confronted Satan with the truth of the Book and caused the devil to have to flee from His presence! Friends, Satan cannot stand in the presence of the truth! If you will confront him with the Word of God, he will leave you alone!)

B. 27 The Enemy Must Be Controlled - There is no question that Joshua and Israel made a mistake when they dealt with the Gibeonites. However, mistakes to not have to spell permanent ruin. Joshua realized the seriousness of what they had done and he immediately took the necessary steps to control the situation. They can't kill them, because they have given them their word, v. 19. but they can control them!

In your life and mine, there will be times when we will step out of the Lord's will and commit sin. That is just a fact! However, the mistakes we make in following the devil do not have to be permanent, neither do they have to destroy us completely! Thank God, the Lord has promised us complete forgiveness and restoration if we will return to Him in repentance, 1 John 1:9. We must face the fact that our sins carry consequences that must play out completely, Gal. 6:9, yet we can get right with the Lord and we can serve Him faithfully.)

We need to learn from our sins and our failures so that we do not fall into those same traps again! Either we will control our sins, or they will control us! Which it is depends on you and what you want from life. There is forgiveness where there is repentance!)

C. 27 The Enemy Must Be Commissioned - Notice what Israel did with the Gibeonites. They took them and they put them to work carrying water and chopping wood for the Tabernacle of the Lord. Joshua took his mistake and used it for the glory of the Lord! The Bible even indicates that these people eventually got right with God and were absorbed into the nation of Israel - 2 Sam 21:2-6. Joshua took his error and used it for God!

Will you and I fail the Lord as we go through life? Probably, and often! However, our sins and mistakes do not have to knock us out of the Lord's work! When we fail we need to allow the Lord to use that time of sin, chastisement, correct, repentance and restoration in our lives for His glory. What the devil meant for your defeat can be turned into the source of your greatest victories, if you will allow the Lord to have His way in your mistakes. You can't undo the things you have done, but you can bring them to Jesus and He can use them to help you grow in Him. What first looked like a curse to the people of God eventually turned into a blessing as these people were brought to the Lord and lived their lives serving God!)

Please do not misunderstand me, I am not trying to glamorize sin in any fashion. I am trying to tell you that your failures do not have to defeat you forever! God's grace is bigger than your mistakes! Let Him prove it this morning!)

Conc: Joshua and Israel thought they were making a treaty with people from a far away land. However, they found themselves shackled to a Gibeonite! Has this ever happened to you? Maybe you are in the middle of it right now. You listened to your flesh, or the devil and now you are in a mess. Why not bring that thing to the Lord and let Him turn you failure into something He can use for His glory? Maybe you are not even saved. The devil has you! Maybe you would like to come and give your life to Jesus right now and watch Him save your soul and transform you for His glory. If you need Him this morning you come as He calls!

PRAYER
Every of your past mistake that is meant to destroy your future is turn to miracle in Jesus name, all your enemy will turn to your servant and start serving you in Jesus name,

Sermon title: Where is my Helper

Message by Mr Sunday Salami at the evening service
Topic: where is your helper

Text: Psalm 121:1-2 KJV
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. [2] My help cometh from the Lord , which made heaven and earth.

Many of us as a Christian has helper and many people as well has helper and different kind of helper which we can't boast of in open place because some people helper are different to each other and God

Psalmist said I will look up to the hill, where comenth my help and he can boast of it that his own help come from God, and he began to say what God can do

Can you to say out laud that your helper is God indeed?

To some people their helper is herbalist, brothers, boss, friends which they look up to and this people can't help them but God

Use the word of the psalmist to put your trust in God as well, trust in God as your helper also

Mark 10:47-52 KJV
And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. [48] And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. [49] And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee. [50] And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. [51] And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. [52] And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

This is bathemeus he knows the only one that can help him is Jesus and that was why when he saw Jesus Christ he cry out to him, and Jesus didn't disappoint him, if you too can believe in Jesus to day and not man Jesus will be your helper too,

Daniel 3:17 KJV
If it be so , our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

This is the story of the 3 Hebrew who believe in God even when all hope is lost and God help them, where too is your help?
Daniel 6:22 KJV
My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.

Don't forget the story of Hannah as well, she call on God and cry to him and God change her barrenness to fruitfulness

Therefore brethren believe in God and make him your helper and he will help you

Conclusion: David trust in God that was why he was able to defeat Goliath, in all your endeavour trust Jesus and call him to be your helper he will hear you

Shocking: Reverend Father Arraigned for Defrauding Seminarians

A 29-year-old Rev. Father, Anthony Marie Wendji, was on Tuesday arraigned for alleged cheating before a Makurdi Magistrates’ Court. The prosecuting officer, Insp. James Zungwe, told the court that the case was transferred from ‘A’ Division Police Station, Gboko, to the State CID, Makurdi.

According to the transfer letter, one Simon Onyeabo reported that the accused dishonestly deceived him that he was a Reverend Father assigned to train seminarians for Holy Face Congregation.

The complainant stated further that the accused under that pretext, appointed him as coordinator and induced him to collect the sum of N70,000 each from Seminary Applicants for the training.

He disclosed that the total money collected was N840,000 from the 12 applicants and the “Reverend” who is said to come from Bangassou, Central African Republic, promised to take them to Cameroun after training.

Simon Onyeabo said that they later discovered while on training at Holy Face Community House established by the Reverend in Gboko that he was operating an illegal institution.

He said that the reverend had no approval either from the Corporate Affairs Commission or Diocese of Gboko to operate the institution.

The complainant stated that when the accused realised that they had discovered his secret, he sent them away without refunding their money or sending them to Cameroun as he promised, and he even went ahead to recruit new seminarians.

During police investigation, the Reverend Father was arrested for the alleged offence. The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 324 of the Penal Code.

When the case came up for mention, Rev. Father, Anthony pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, Mrs Theresa Wergbah, granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 and a surety. The case was thus adjourned to January 16, 2014, for trial.

Teacher beats 4-yr-old pupil to death for being stubborn

Detectives in OndoState have detained a primary school teacher, Alade Adebayo, for allegedly flogging to death a four-year-old female pupil Elizabeth Wanogha.

The deceased pupil was a student of a private primary school, Falaye Memorial Nursery and Primary School, located at Fanibi area in Akure metropolis.

The teacher, according to report, accused the deceased of being stubborn in the class. He was said to have beaten the girl to a state of coma.

Cries from other pupils in the class reportedly attracted other teachers who rushed to the scene where they found that the girl had fainted.

She was said to have been rushed to a private hospital and was admitted but reportedly died later.

Police authorities, however, said that the pupil died two weeks after the beating by the suspect.

The father of the deceased, Mr Wanogha lodged a complaint at the Fanibi Police station, alleging that his daughter died as a result of the injuries sustained from the severe beating by her teacher.

Following the complaint, the teacher was arrested for interrogation.

Contacted, the Police image maker, Wole Ogodo, confirmed that the teacher had been arrested.

Ogodo however said that people should not jump into conclusion that it was the beating which took place about two weeks earlier that led to the death of the pupil.

He pointed out that the autopsy will determine the cause of the pupil’s death.

Ogodo said that the suspect is being quizzed at the state Criminal Investigative Department, SCID.

He explained further that the deceased was hospitalised immediately after the beating but died two weeks after.

Ogodo said that investigation into the death of the pupil continues adding that the findings would be made public.

The father of the deceased pupil insisted that the teacher should be prosecuted for murder.

Mr wanogho who lived at Adebowale street Fanibi vowed that the matter would be pursued to a logical conclusion to serve as deterrent to wicked teachers who vent their anger on innocent pupils put in their care.

He appealed to NGOs to take the matter up by ensuring that it was not swept under the carpet.

The proprietor of the school declined comment on the incident.

Senators seek life imprisonment for rapists

The Senate, yesterday, called for stiffer punishment like life imprisonment for perpetrators of sexual assault in the country.

Some Senators also canvassed for capital punishment in the Sexual Offence Bill sponsored by Senator Chris Anyanwu, which passed the second reading.

Senator Anyanwu, APGA, Imo had in her lead debate, said her bill chronicled incidents of high rate of immorality in the society and demanded the creation of a unit within the Nigerian Police Force where trained professionals would ensure the preservation of the rights of humanity.

She noted that sex tourism has been on the increase in the country and that it was imperative to create a unit in the Nigeria Police Force to handle such cases with good training, as she alleged that most times victims that take their matter to the police are always ridiculed by the police officers handling the matter.

AbiarapeShe further said that the bill makes provision for those who make false allegations or accusations of rape as it touches on fundamental human rights and human dignity and urged the senate to support the passage of the law to save the womanhood.

According to her, there were punishments stipulated in the penal code of states in the federation but said that deficiency in extant laws was being corrected in her bill including protection of witnesses and stigma of victims.

She said the establishment of a section of the police force manned by well trained investigators who will handle the matters with passion, would reduce rape incidents to its barest minimum.

Husband, Wife & His Wife's Mother Arrested For Stealing N13m From Popular Church

A security officer, Pius Edward, his wife Fausat and the wife's mother, have all been arrested by the men of the Nigeria police force, Oyo State Police Command, in connection with the theft of N13m from Bishop’s Court, a popular Anglican church located in the Bodija area of Ibadan.
“On November 9, at about 9am, an accountant attached to Bishop’s Court, Bodija, Ibadan, reported to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad office that on November 8, at 11.55pm, Edward broke into the office and made away with N13m which belongs to the church.
“Investigation revealed that the suspect was hiding in a hotel at Odeda in Ogun State. With the help of immigration office, Ogun State Command, the suspect and his family were allow to procure travelling document to Dubai without letting him know that he was being lured out of his hiding place. He was arrested thereafter at Idi-Iroko, Ogun State with two unregistered car he had purchased with part of the money.”
Edward, a security officer at the church was said to have broken into an office where the money was kept and made away with it. It was alleged that he woke his wife the following morning and told her to prepare for a journey with the children.

After the theft was reported by one of the reverends in the church, the police were, however, able to trace his movement and nabbed him at after a diligent intelligence operation. The corrupt security officer was planning to relocate his family to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ndabawa, said Edwards’ in-law’s involvement was helping the family disappear from Nigeria by facilitating the procurement of their travel documents.

Also recovered from him were N656,000 and $2,300, while Edward said he tore a N7m cheque belonging to the church for fear of being arrested while attempting to cash it. In a chat with Punch, Edward claimed that he only stole N2.5m and that he purchased N1.8m cars from the loot.

“I pushed my wife into the crime. My mother in-law was involved because she introduced me to the immigration officer that helped us procure the travelling document,” he insisted.

His wife, Fausat said she did not know that her husband had stolen the money. “He threatened to leave me with the children if I did not follow him. So I followed him. He did not tell me that he stole money from the church,” she cried.

Lagos Spiritualist Rapés Lady Who Went to Him for Deliverance, Now She's Pregnant

A popular spiritualist, Ifatade Elegbeleye, has been arrested by men of the Nigeria Police Force in Lagos and charged before an Ojokoro Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for defrauding a woman seeking husband. He allegedly swindled the gullible woman of N2m and forcefully slept with her in his 'chamber'.

31-year-old Temidayo Akinwale, a businesswoman who is now pregnant, suffered the ugly fate when she went to the spiritualist to deliver her from strange spirits that prevented her from getting a husband.

Funny enough, in his response, Ifatade told the court that he indeed delivered her of spiritual husband. Asked if he slept with her and got her pregnancy, the spiritualist said:
"No comment." But the incident allegedly happened right inside his 'chamber' located at Ayobo in Lagos.

The accused was arraigned on a six-count charge of fraud, stealing and obtaining sex under false pretences.

Elegbeleye who is cooling his heels in prison custody, according to the police, lured his victim to a shrine and told her that he needed to perform some rituals to deliver her from spiritual husband that prevented her from getting a husband all these years.

The 65-year-old mother of the victim, Mrs. Mary Akinwale, while testifying before the court, narrated how the accused lured her daughter to his shrine, raped and impregnated her.

The distraught mother told the court that Elegbeleye prophesied to her daughter that she was possessed with a spiritual husband that would prevent her from getting married and asked her to pay some amount of money for spiritual cleansing.

She said that her daughter who was afraid of the prophesy, paid the money and was taking to a river in the midnight at Ipaja area, where she was bathed with spiritual soap, adding that after the bath, she still could not get a husband. She said the accused invited her daughter again to his shrine and rapéd her, adding that she is now pregnant.

The presiding Magistrate, O.A. Layinka granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties. The matter was adjourned till 21 December for continuation of trial. #FakeSpiritualistOnTheProwl

The enemy can be destructive IOI CHRISTIAN MEAN

IOI CHRISTIAN MEAN

TOPIC: THE ENEMY CAN BE DESTRUCTIVE
TEXT: JOSHUA 9:14-21

A. 14 Their Ability To See Clearly Was Disrupted - Notice that in verse 7, Joshua initially was a little skeptical of these so-called ambassadors. He questioned them about their origin again in verse 8. Joshua is to be commended for his caution, but he gave up just a little too soon! When the Gibeonites showed him their clothes, their food and the broken wineskins, Joshua was more than impressed and he believed their story!

If the Lord has done anything for His children, He has given us a perfect Book and powerful Spirit. These two items give us a distinct advantage when it comes to fighting the devil! Using the Bible and the inner leading of the Spirit of God, we can do what 1 Pet. 5:8 says and we can be "sober and vigilant". These words carry the idea of being in control of ourselves and of being watchful. You do not have to fall for everything the devil tells you! He is a liar and the father of it, John 8:44. Hey folks, we do not have to fall into his traps! Thank God ,we can walk in victory over the devil if we will be sober and vigilant!)

My friends, when your spiritual vision gets dim through neglect of the Word of God and prayer, you are very susceptible to the tricks and traps of the enemy. It is impossible to have the victory over him when we neglect the very things which are designed to make us strong! The Bible tells us in Eph. 4:27, that we are not to give "place" to the devil in our lives. This word refers to a beachhead. If we give the devil room in our lives to attack us, you can count on the fact that he will! We must always be on guard to avoid his attacks. Don't even let him have so much as a foot in the door!)

B. 14 Their Ability To Seek Counsel Was Disrupted - Notice that Israel ate with the Gibeonites and did not even take the matter to the Lord in prayer. To break bread with someone in that day was considered to be a sign of unalterable friendship. But what they considered to be the right thing to do turned into a problem because they did not take the time to take the matter to the Lord in prayer first and neither did they take the time to wait on His answer. As a result, they stepped out of the will of God and had to suffer the consequences!

How many times has this been true in your life and mine? We look at what the devil has to offer us and we join up with him without even seeking the Lord's will in the matter. At other times, we stack the deck in our favor so that even the Lord's attempts to speak to us and change our direction are made to appear like His blessings on our decision. I am trying to tell you this morning that you need to be sure that it is the Lord's voice you are listening to and not the devil's or even that of your own flesh! God will is that we seek His face and that we give Him time to give us His answer! What does the Lord say? Ex. 14:13; "Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord..."; Isa. 40:31, "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."; Psalm 27:14, "Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD." Well, you get the idea! God expects His people to seek His will and wait on His answer!)

C. 15-21 Their Ability To Stay Clean Was Disrupted - In these verses, we see that the Israelites ability to be a separate people before the Lord was marred by their decision to make a league with the Gibeonites. God had told them to utterly destroy the inhabitants and to make no covenants with them at all, Deut 7:2, "And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:" However, Israel disobey this command and as a result they sinned before the Lord.

Before we judge them too harshly, let's look at ourselves for a minute. How many times have we been guilty of following Satan instead of the Lord? The Word of God plainly tells us what the Lord's will is for our lives, 2 Cor. 6:17, "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,". Yet, all too often, we will aloow the flesh, the word and the devil distract us and defeat us.)

If you let him, the devil will get you into such a shape that the Lord cannot bless and use you you at all! I can think of many, many preachers this morning who listened to the siren song of the devil and found themselves castaways as far as the Lord's work is concerned. Don't think it can happen to you? Just ask David, the sweet singer of Israel, the man after God's own heart, what the devil can do to your life. You follow the devil and you, like David might find yourself in a place of prayer begging God just to restore the joy of your heart and life, Psa. 51:12. Don't let that happen in your life! Take the steps that are necessary to defeat the devil and walk in victory!)

PRAYER
I pray with you today, before your enemy destroy you, God will destroy them totally in Jesus name

IOI CHRISTIAN MEAN
. . .Continuation of yesterday

TOPIC: THE ENEMY CAN BE DECEPTIVE

TEXT: Joshua 9:1-13

(. Note verses 1-2. When all the kings of Canaan heard what had happened to Ai and to Jericho, they joined forces to seek to defeat Israel. Isn't it amazing how the devil's crowd will join up to fight God's people? Just look at the way Jesus was treated by His enemies. The Pharisees and the Herodians hated one another, but they came together in the common effort of seeing Jesus put to death. Another friendship that was formed over the death of our Lord was that which was formed between Herod Antipas and Pontius Pilate. We are still seeing these same kind of alliances formed in our day!)

A. 4 He Uses Deceptive Wiles - When the Gibeonites heard that the Israelites were headed in their direction, they devised a scheme to trick Israel into making a peace treaty with them. They dressed in old clothes, carried old bread and wine and pretended that they were from far away. They did everything in their power to trick Israel.

(. What a picture of our enemy, the devil! The Bible tells us in Eph. 6:11 that we fight an enemy that uses "wiles" to get his way in our lives. The word "wiles" refers to "deceit, trickery, cunning arts." You see friends, Satan would like nothing better than to trip you up and cause you to fall into one of his traps. Just before Jesus died, He told Simon Peter that Satan desired to have him that he might sift him as wheat, Luke 22:31-32. Satan wants to do the same to you and me. He wants us to fall. He wants us to fail, and he will stop at nothing to bring that to pass. 1 Tim. 3:7 tells us that Satan uses "snares" to catch his prey. This word refers to a trap set by a hunter in order that he might capture his prey. So, Satan uses deceptive wiles, just like the people of Gibeon did.)

B. 4-5 He Uses Deceptive Wares - The Gibeonites had taken every step possible to deceive Israel into believing that they were from a far away country. They carried old sacks on their donkeys, broken and bound up wine skins, patched shoes shabby clothing and even some moldy bread. Their entire aim was to trick Israel.

( May I remind you that when the devil comes to you in temptation, or to trip you up, he does not do so in a red suit with a pointy tail and horns. He will not be carrying a pitchfork and he will not smell like sulphur. When the devil comes to your life to cause you trouble, he will appear as an angel of light, 2 Cor. 11:14. He will make his plan appear to be the perfect thing for your life. So, beware of every impulse that comes down the line. Check out everything by the Word of God and by the will of God and the Lord will always lead you in the right way!)

C. 6-13 He Uses Deceptive Words - Notice that in these verses, these men from Gibeon lied, v. 6, 9, 11-12; they used claimed to be something they were not, v. 8-9; and they were careful in what they referred to, v. 10 (Ill. They did not mention anything that had happened since Israel had crossed Jordan, giving the impression that they had indeed been traveling for quiet some time.)

( Again, this is a perfect picture of our enemy, the devil. He will use slick and enticing speech to get you to yield to his plans for your life. He practiced this kind of trickery in the Garden of Eden when he talked to Eve, Gen. 3:1-6. He told her that she could question God's Word, v. 1; He told her that God did not really mean what God has said, v. 3; He told her that God was really just holding out on her, v. 5. In other words, the devil will give you every reason in the world to justify the things he wants you to do. Then when you have followed him and are out of God's will and in trouble, he will discard you like a piece of trash and leave you to rot in your sins!

I wonder:

1. Just what did the devil tell Cain to get him to kill Abel?

2. Just what did the devil tell David to get him to sleep with Bathsheba?

3. Just what did the devil tell Judas to get him to betray the Lord Jesus?

4. Just what has the devil told you in the past; and what is he telling you now?

You see, 2 Cor. 2:11 tells us that Satan desires to gain an "advantage" over us and to do this, he will use every trick in the book to get us to follow him into failure. Be careful! 1 Peter 5:8 tells us what the devil is up to this morning. He wants you. He wants your family. He wants your testimony. He wants your church. If you have it and it's from the Lord, he wants it, and to get it, he will do anything!

Power of prayer

TOPIC: THE POWER OF PRAYER . . .
By Pst Israel O. Israel

TEXT: "Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results." James 5:16

Prayer is just lovingly, reverently talking to God. Have you ever heard of the A.C.T.S. of prayer? Each letter stands for one kind of prayer. It is not the only or "right" prayer model, but it can help remind us of some of the basic things to cover when we approach our Heavenly Father in prayer:

A = Adoration (praise)
C = Confession (of sins)
T = Thanksgiving (being grateful to God)
S = Supplication (requests)

Adoration and Praise

Our Creator God is wonderful, and He deserves our praise! That’s why it’s good to start by praising Him. It also gives us a right perspective -- God’s greatness and power compared to our smallness. Jesus began The Lord's Prayer by acknowledging God's fatherly love, goodness, and rule over the earth: "Our Father in heaven, may Your Name be kept holy. May Your Kingdom come soon. May Your will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven" (Matthew 6:9-10).

Confession of Sins

"Everyone has sinned, [and] we all fall short of God’s glorious standard" (Romans 3:23). "Your sins have cut you off from God" (Isaiah 59:2), but we want to be close to Him! If we confess our sins to the Lord, "He is faithful and just to forgive us" (I John 1:9). Holding onto our sins builds a barrier between us and God. Confessing and repenting of them breaks down that wall.

Thanksgiving and Gratitude

How has God blessed you? How has He shown His love for you? Of course, we are thankful for His blessings. But we can even be grateful for problems and hardships, because He can use those to bring us closer to Himself. The Bible tells us to "be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus" (I Thessalonians 5:18).

Supplication and Requests

Jesus taught that we can ask for what we need, and to be persistent in asking: "keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you" (Luke 11:9). We can trust that "if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us" (I John 5:14).

The Gospels record Jesus turning to the Father in prayer time after time, day after day. We are to follow His example and "pray without ceasing" (I Thessalonians 5:17).

"Helping Others Pray”
Scripture: James 5:16

In the Bible, God is clear about the power of the prayer of a righteous person. Isn’t it wonderful that the Creator of the Universe wants us to come to Him in prayer? Furthermore, God moves mightily when His children pray according to His Word!

Let’s go over some aspects of discipleship you can use to teach someone who has come to Christ about prayer.

Teaching your disciple to pray.

Prayer plays a vital role in someone’s relationship with God. Prayer should become a regular part of your life. You can encourage your disciple to begin with spending 15 minutes a day alone with God. Remind them that scripture can be used as a foundation of our prayers.

The Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:8-15) is an excellent teaching model for prayer. At first you might pray through it slowly with them, emphasizing a true heart connect with God. Then, using this framework, you can expand and personalize the prayer time.

Encourage your disciple to start a prayer journal. They can write down their prayers and even keep track of prayers that God answers.

Also, encourage "be still" time as a part of your prayer - just being with Him and listening (Psalm 46:10).

Your PRAY NOW Challenge: "Lord, I pray that You will use me to teach others to pray as You pray. Allow them to see the wonder of prayer and the close relationship You want with us. In the Name of Jesus, Amen."

Being too friendly with the enemy ( IOICM)

IOI CHRISTIAN MEAL
TOPIC: BEING TOO FRIENDLY WITH THE ENEMY

TEXT: JOSHUA 9:1-27

Observers have noted that certain kinds of ants have a passion for the sweet, glandular substance given off by the caterpillar of a large blue butterfly. They can become so "addicted" to it that they even seek out "the supplier" and carry him to their nest with delight. But they unwittingly bring home an enemy in disguise, for the caterpillar gorges himself exclusively on ant larva. Usually such a threat to the colony would be repelled with great vigor, but the adults enjoy the tasty secretions of the "guest" so much that they are oblivious of the fact that their young are being devoured in the process.

As I read this story of the foolish ants, I began to see a similarity between this story and what the Bible tells us about Joshua and Israel in Joshua chapter 9. In these verses, we see Israel becoming too friendly with their enemies.

The people of Israel have just defeated the city of Ai and are preparing to march deeper into Canaan as they claim the promised land which the Lord had given to them. As I said, they are fresh from a victory. In fact, they now have a couple of impressive victories under their belts. They have seen the great walled city of Jericho defeated and they have witnessed the pesky little town of Ai defeated too. However, before they will ever see another victory, Israel must learn a valuable lesson about becoming too friendly with the enemy.

In the battles and stories related to Israel's conquest of Canaan, we can see a picture of our lives as children of God as we struggle to obtain the victory in our lives. As I look at the Bible's record of these events, it is not too hard for me to see the parallels between the battles Israel fought in the flesh and the ones which we fight in the spirit. In fact, these cities that they have faced all teach us a spiritual lesson.

1. Jericho - A type of the world - It was defeated, and we have the promise of victory over the world in our walk with the Lord Jesus, 1 John 5:4, "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith."

2. Ai - A type of the flesh - It, too, was defeated, and we have the promise of victory in the flesh as we battle for the Lord Jesus, Romans 7:24-25, "O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin."

3. Gibeon - A type of the devil - This is a battle that still must be fought. However, we have been promised victory in this area as well. To obtain it, we must trust the Lord Jesus Christ and walk in His will day by day. He can be defeated - James 4:7, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Eventually, the devil will get exactly what he deserves! Rev. 20:1-10.

However, today, we must still contend with him. Fortunately, the Lord has not left us without a word in this matter. In this passage, that recounts Israel's experience with the people of Gibeon, we can see a portrait of the devil and his devices. As we will see, there is a danger in becoming friendly with the enemy. That is the thought that I would like to preach on for a while this morning. Let's look into this passage as we think about the thought, Being Too Friendly With The Enemy.

EFCC arrest: Uneasy calm as Governor Lamido fights for sons release

It was a black day for Governor Lamido’s family Thursday night when two prominent members of his family, Mustapha Lamido, the District Head of Bamaina and his elder brother, Aminu Lamido were taken into custody by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over allegation of money laundering.

The two children of Jigawa state Governor were picked up in their various homes in Kano last night and were flown to Abuja by the Anti-graft agency for further investigation.

Sources at EFCC revealed that Mustapha Lamido, alumnus of University of Abuja, and his elder brother, Aminu Lamido who is also a 2010 mass communication graduate from Bayero University Kano were been investigated for alleged money laundering to the tune of N11billion..

The development is coming on the heel of arrest and conviction of Aminu Sule Lamido July 12th 2013 by a federal High court in Kano for laundering $50,000 US Dollars.

It was also learnt that the Jigawa Governor who was already in Sokoto ahead of Saturday Rotimi Amaechi faction of Governor’s forum retreat was forced to return to Abuja to confront the development.

A source close to the Governor confided stated that “I must confess to you that Lamido is completely shattered by the development and has sacrificed every other schedule at the moment to confront the emergency”.

The source explained that “Lamido is too passionate about his children and he would do everything at this trying moment to secure their freedom”.

Confirming the incident in Abuja, Spokesman of EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren revealed that “yes, two persons were arrested in Kano for money laundering, and investigation is on “.

In the meantime, uneasy calm pervades the ancestral home of Lamido Friday as the news filtered in that their District head popularly referred to as Hakimi, Mustapha Lamido and his elder brother, Aminu Sule has been nabbed by EFCC over money laundering.

Most respondents who appeared piqued by the turn of event were of the opinion that the arrest were politically motivated as they stressed that “we believe in prayers and we would take our case to God for his intervention”.

The eldest son of the governor, Aminu, was earlier arrested by the EFCC on Dec. 11, 2012 at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport for money laundering to the tune of 50,000 dollars.

He was convicted but not sentenced by a Federal High Court in Kano on July 12.

N3 BILLION fraud: Governor’s PA slumps to death after getting signals EFCC were coming for him

A personal assistant to the Kebbi State governor unexpectedly slumped to death on Thursday in Birni Kebbi, allegedly after getting signals that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was closing in on him in respect of a N3billion fraud in the accounts of the state government.

Aminu Gwandu, was due for burial yesterday according to Islamic rites.

However, his death did not stop the commission from arresting the state’s Accountant-General, Mr. Dan Atto in connection with the matter.

Atto was taken to Abuja for interrogation.

Atto was invited by the EFCC to throw light on the alleged diversion of the N3 billion into private accounts.

It was learnt that the late Aminu Gwandu was apparently scared stiff by signals that he too might be invited by the agency, especially the stigma that goes with such interface with the anti-graft agency.

A source said the development was said to have hit him like a thunderbolt. His health soon deteriorated and he slumped.

He died before he could get medical assistance.

The Accountant-General of the state, who initially appeared at the EFCC’s office in Kano, reported again yesterday.

He was immediately arrested and whisked to Abuja for interrogation.

A source in EFCC, however, said: “There was no incident relating to the EFCC on the appearance and arrest of Atto.

“We are investigating alleged laundering of N3billion which we have traced to some accounts. We are quizzing many suspects including the Accountant-General, Atto.

“After reporting in Kano, our men picked him up for a comprehensive grilling in Abuja.”

The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said Atto was in “EFCC custody to clarify some issues.”

Goveror Saidu Usman Dakingari could not be reached for his reaction last night.

Boko Haram commander sentenced to life imprisonment; weeps, missing 72 virgins in heaven

Alleged kingpin of the Boko Haram sect, Mustapher Umar, who allegedly bombed office of the Thisday Newspaper in Kaduna State with 12 camp gas cylinders, was today, handed a life sentence by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

Trial Justice Ademola Adeniyi in his judgment, said he was convinced that the accused person deserved to be “removed from the public so that he will not kill more innocent persons.”

Consequently, the court, aside asking the convict to pay the sum of N150million to the families of the three persons that died as a result of his terrorist act, equally ordered that he should be subjected to hard labour while in prison.

Other media outlets affected by that attack on the premises of SOJ Plaza in Kaduna State on April 26, 2012, included the Moment and the Sun Newspapers.

The High Court had heard how the accused person wept bitterly when he was rescued from a badly burnt Honda car that was allegedly used for the operation, saying he had been denied the opportunity of inheriting 72 virgins in heaven.

$250m Bribe Scandal: Gov Lamido Lied Against Me ––Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan has denied the claim by Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State that he reported a serving minister in the Presidency who allegedly collected a $250m bribe from an oil company without the President taking any action on the information.
Governor Lamido was quoted as saying: “Do you know that recently a top minister received a $250 million (about 42.25 billion) bribe for himself… he (the minister) is in the cabinet; he is in this current regime; he knows and I know, and I told President Jonathan.”
But Jonathan, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, described the claims by the governor as “grossly irresponsible, false and mischievous.” He said no such communication took place between him and the governor.

He said the governor’s “patently bogus allegation” was a callous attempt to impugn Jonathan's integrity and cast aspersion on his administration’s anti-corruption war.

A source close to Governor Lamido said he is not surprised by the Presidency denial, because even the clear case of corruption against Stella Oduah which all Nigerians can see, they are trying to cover it up.

IOI CHRISTIAN MEAL, TOPIC: DEMONSTRATE THE VIRTUE OF LOVE

IOI CHRISTIAN MEAL
TOPIC: Demonstrate the virtue of love

TEXT: John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

How do we demonstrate the distinctiveness of Christian love? Because virtue is moral action we practice, How can we practice the glorious virtue of love?

A. Love values the other person

Let's not confuse Christian love with its modern counterfeits - lust, sentimentality, and gratification.

While love is a wonderful, warm feeling, it is not only a feeling. In fact, according to the Bible, love is primarily an active interest in the well-being of another person. Love acts for the benefit of others.

According to William Barclay love "is the spirit in the heart that will never seek anything but the highest good of its fellow man."
God loved us not because we had something to offer him, but rather because He had something to offer us. "For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

God loved us so that He could demonstrate His mercy to us in the person of His Son.

A story was told of Dr. W.A. Criswell, officiated at a lot of weddings. The nervous groom would always say, "Dr. Criswell, how much do I owe you for this?" And he'd always smile and look at the groom and say, "Aw, just pay me what she's worth." Dr. Criswell made a lot of money from weddings, because to each man his new bride was of extravagant value.

In like manner, everyone around us is of incredible value to God as a potential object of His mercy. His one and only Son died in their place. Because people matter so much to him, they ought to matter to us. And, we, therefore, need to love them as he loves them.

PRAYER
THE POWER TO LOVE OUR NEIGHBOUR WITH THE WHOLE OF OUR HEART MAY GOD GIVE IT TO US IN JESUS NAME, MAY LOVE REIGN IN OUR COUNTRY, IN THE HEART OF OUR LEADERS IN JESUS NAME.

IOI CHRISTIAN MEAL, HOW TO SHOW LOVE AND RESPECT TO OTHERS

IOI CHRISTIAN MEAL

TOPIC: HOW TO SHOW LOVE AND RESPECT TO OTHERS

TEXT: John 13:35 KJV
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Continued from yesterday. . .

III. Embody the distinguishing nature of love

When we demonstrate Christian love, it distinguishes believers from the rest of the world. Jesus goes on to say, "By this [love] all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another" (John 13:35).

Notice Jesus did not say that people will know that you are my disciples if you promote my agenda, or wear Christian T-shirts or a WWJD bracelet, or have a fish decal on your car, but rather if you love one another.
A watching world will be persuaded not when our values are promoted but when they are incarnated, when we become purveyors of love.

It is as though Jesus has given the entire world the right to judge whether or not one is His follower simply on the basis of their love for fellow human beings. The vivacious virtue of love distinguishes the Christian.

From the very beginning, God's plan was to develop a people that reflected his character. And what is his character? Love. "God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. In this, love is perfected with us so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; for we are as He is in this world" (1 John 4:16-17).
Believers are God's advertisement to a watching society as to how individuals could best live in that society. In fact, Christian love will always be the best apologetic that the church has.

When Ira Gillett, missionary to East Africa, returned home to report on his activities overseas, he related an interesting phenomenon.
Repeatedly, Gillett had noticed how groups of Africans would walk past government hospitals and travel many extra miles to receive medical treatment at the missionary compound. He finally asked a particular group why they walked the extra distance when the same treatments were available at the government clinics.
The reply: "The medicines may be the same but the hands are different.

That's the virtue of love incarnated. That kind of love makes a difference. Christ has no hands, but our hands; no feet, but our feet.

We are his ambassadors, representing him to the world. And when we love as he as loved us, it will make the difference. People will notice. Christian love is indispensable.

PRAYER
MAY GOD TEACH US HOW TO LOVE OUR SELF AND NOT TO DESTROY OUR SELF WITH HATRED AND STRIVES ANYMORE IN JESUS NAME

TB Joshua Banned From Cameroon – Accused Of Being Satanic

T.B. Joshua the founder of the The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN) has been banned and blacklisted by the Cameroonian government over claims of being an agent of the devil.

TB Joshua who is renowned for his prophecies and predictions has overtime gathered a large following in Nigeria and across Africa including the current heads of state of Ghana and Malawi.

The Cameroonian government has blacklisted Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, saying that he is an agent of satan hoodwinking unsuspecting members of the public with “diabolical miracles”.

Cameroon Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr. Henri Eyebe Ayissi, in an official communiqué he issued titled: “The Devil Is In the House”, described T.B. Joshua as a “son of the devil” pretending to be “a man of God.”

The minister warned hundreds of Cameroonians, trooping to Lagos, South West Nigeria, for miracles in Joshua’s church, to desist from taking the trip or face the consequences, as the country will not stand by them.

The communiqué written in French read in part: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns those who by naivety or deception of Emmanuel TV’s captivating images, or even those who by hopelessness, envisage taking the pilgrimage to Pastor T.B. Joshua’s Synagogue Church Of All Nations in Lagos, that they will do so at their own risk.

“The Cameroonian Government warns these pilgrims that they will face the consequences alone. This is motivated by the painful and shameful fact that Cameroonian men and women, in search of deliverance and blessings, once in that church, find themselves in bestial and pitiable conditions.

“Women are defiled; pilgrims dispossessed of their belongings by armed robbers and left to sleep on the streets at the mercy of gangs. Many cases of assassinations have even been recorded. And this is without other cases that are not recorded at the Cameroonian Embassy in Lagos with the victims too ashamed to narrate their infernal odysseys once they are out of Hell,” the minister said.

The minister said that while the bible asks us to be discreet with gifts and donations to the poor, T.B. Joshua is seen daily dolling out bags of rice to indigent people.

It was learnt that hundreds of Cameroonians who sold their properties or borrowed money in the hope of getting miracles in T.B. Joshua’s Church, only got disappointed in Lagos.

It was also reported that Prophet TB Joshua’s TV station has gained popularity in Cameroon and many people are tempted to take the trip and receive healings and sudden blessings. It says that Joshua is now in many households in Cameroon and many people believe the flashy images they watch on television.

HOW A LADY WAS FORCED TO MAKE LOVE WITH DOG AND A HORSE

When the Internet first came to the continent of African society, most people were very pleased with it because it reduced stress of communication.

It served many people for chatting, sending mails and even business. As the time passed many ladies discovered that they could use the internet to find a chat friend or a life partner. Some girls have greatly benefited just by using the internet to find their dream marriages or relationhsips. Others have fallen into traps in the West and wish they would never have known what the internet was. This is the case of one Cameroonian, Elvire Axelle Tchamakoua.

SEE HOW IT ALL HAPPENED….

Axelle is prostituté who is pimped to various men by her main man Jean Claude (French Businessman). She did not mind serving her customers from the front or from behind. She has been doing this job for quite a while and was used to this. The shocking part of it is that, Axelle is a 24 years old girl with a Formal Training Certificate in Aesthetics and Beauty. Why a young lady in her age would wish for fast cash is the question many people are asking.

According to reports Axelle met her pimping Boss, Jean Claude on the Internet in October 2011. They had a normal chat like every other person would have when chatting with a stranger. Jean Claude told her he was a Businessman based in Marseille (France) and was into import and export. Axelle who thought she had found the lové of her life continued her communication with Jean Claude Fayard and on March 2012 he came to visit her in Cameroon. There was a huge celebration at Axelle’s Aunt’s Residence at Santa Barbara in Yaounde. Two days in Cameroon, Jean Claude proposed to Axelle and got married to her in both traditional and Legal Ceremonies. Both marriages took place on the 18th and 20th of March 2012 respectively.

Jean Claude made all travelling arrangements and the both of them flew to France on the 21 of March that same year.He even gave Axelle’s family the sum of 600.000 FCFA for their up keep. Not knowing that they were selling their daughter into séx slavery, the family happily bid the couple goodbye as they left for France.

The truth of the matter was that Jean Claude is a pimp who goes to Africa and picks up girls to come and work as séx slaves for him in France. Since Axelle did not know about this, she would wish she never used the internet in her life. As the couple arrived France, they lived in a town called Clermont Ferrand for about 9 months after which they moved to a new place called Lourdes. It is in this place that Axelle had the worst experience of her life.

A few days after their arrival to Lourdes, a man knocked on the door saying he wants to see Jean Claude. Little did Axelle know that, he would be her first client who had already paid into her husband’s bank account. When Axelle called her husband’s attention to the guest, she was shocked when her husband told her to do whatever the guest tells her to do.

A few days later after coming home from work, Jean Claude sits Axelle and laid down the rules and regulations of the job. He told her she has to pay back all the money he spent on her in Cameroon. He calculated the amount to be more than 3,000 euros and she will also be working for him for the next two years. Axelle who became speechless thought she was dreaming. It was worse when Jean Claude collected her personal belongings and all her documents. She was also prohibited from making any calls to the outside world.

Every day she had male customers who would come for her service taking her from front and behind all the time. She was mandated to do whatever they wanted. They would not use any protection during intercourse. One day Jean Claude came home with a customer accompanied by a dog. The man whose name is Loiseau had deposited some money into Jean Claude’s account. Axelle who didn’t see this coming was pushed into the room and forced to have séx with the dog which she did. It is said that Jean Claude made more money when Axelle sleeps with an animal so these deals became the order of the day.

After her encounter with the dog, Jean Claude left with Mr Loiseau leaving Axelle alone in the house. After numerous trials, she broke down the door and ran into the street where she met a Cameroonian couple living in the town. They helped her to get to the Embassy where she narrated her ordeal. The Police was immediately dispatched to Jean Claude’s house where they found evidence linking him to kidnapping and other serious allegations. Jean Claude was immediately arrested and is waiting for judgement. Meanwhile Axelle flew back to Cameroon and was immediately taken to the hospital for further examinations and treatments.

See what the Internet can do to the youths of a country. All that glitters is not Gold, my dear brothers and sisters. If some of you could hear the stories of some Africans in the Diaspora, you will not envy them at all. After everything, home is the best even when our government and politicians fail us.

Crisis rocks CAN as pastors move against Oritsejafor

Crisis is brewing in the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, as members from the Niger Delta, under the aegis of Global Peace Relief Initiative, led by Prophet Jones Erue, yesterday, faulted President of the association, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, over what they described as the unacceptable comments made against them, following their attempts to reconcile the G-7 governors with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

In a statement by Prophet Erue, the Niger Delta pastors described Oritsejafor's comment to the effect that CAN was apolitical, as laughable, accusing the CAN President of getting involved in politics of calumny and name dropping.
They said that they might not be as rich as the CAN President or own a private jet, but were men of integrity.

The statement said: "We are disappointed that a leader could sit and watch his two children fight while the rest of us suffer only to come and blackmail those who take their time to seek solutions to the crisis." They warned that no amount of blackmail or intimidation would deter them from the noble mission of rescuing the country from imminent collapse.

"It is surprising that Pst Ayo Oritsejafor, the CAN president will handle issues of immense gravity and national importance hastily, with levity and without discretion. The first and easiest thing to know about a man is his name; it is a pity that the CAN president does not know the name of the group of clerics he is addressing nor their affiliates.

"Expecting him to have minimal knowledge on what they stand for, will be tantamount to exerting too much pressure on his aging gray matter. We are begging his aides and personal assistants to do their job well and stop exposing this great man of God to disrepute.

"These eminent clerics and their affiliate, Global Peace and Relief Initiative have taken on a laudable project of consulting across all interest group and stakeholders concerning the Nigerian project. Nigeria is the only country we can call our own and as fathers we cannot fold our hands and watch intolerance and impunity destroy our nation.

"To place the records straight, we have not made promises to any persons and we have not used the name of CAN, we have an affiliate whose mission and vision best defines our activity. We are noble men and do not rail accusation on authorities.

"It is a pity that the handlers of the CAN president have allowed miscreants, to drag him into a show of shame, misinformed the press and over laboured the corporate affairs commission with a futile search.

"If we may ask, whose registration were they authenticating? A group they barely know its name? This is a faith based Non Governmental Organisation, NGO, with memberships spread across the nation. Our main business is advocacy, conflict prevention/ resolution and facilitation of peace projects whether individual, group, organisation or government. We create a good soil for developmental projects and people oriented policies to thrive

"For the CAN president to say CAN is apolitical is laughable, as the same president is involved in politics of calumny and name dropping. "The CAN's statement as reported by the media does not represent the facts on ground but a mere imagination. Calling names at this critical period of the nation's political development does not represent the responsibility expected of a great leader of Pastor Ayo Oritsejeafor's capacity"

"We want to place it on record that the Bishops and Clerics in this body may not own private jets but are men of unquestionable character, dependable leaders, and stewards of peace and holders of reputable degrees. The leader of this group Prophet Jones Ode Erue is a highly respected both in political and religious circles. Many people have benefited from the peace initiatives by this great icon since 2002 till date.

"When men lack purpose and relevance, rather than encourage others with vision and purpose they become detractors of good and well meaning Nigerians. " We are disappointed that a leader could sit and fold his hands and watch his two children fight while the rest of us suffer only to come and blackmail those who take their time to seek solutions to the crisis.

The forum wishes to state emphatically that no amount of cheap blackmail or intimidation can deter it from this noble mission to rescue the country from the imminent collapse which can be averted. "We are duty bound to restore peace and unity to our dear country, Nigeria.

" We will continue with the ongoing consultation with all stake holders in the task of putting Nigeria back to the road, to national unity and development" stated.

IOI CHRISTIAN MEAL
TOPIC: HOW TO SHOW LOVE AND RESPECT TO OTHERS

TEXT: John 13.

Introduction
The Bible says we are to love one another. Sounds good, but can we do it? Whoever said, "I love mankind; it's people I can't stand," was about right.
People are just irritating. I agree with the guy who said, "To live above with those we love, oh, how that will be glory. To live below with those we know, now that's another story.
Even people at church can be difficult to love. Sometimes we sing a chorus in church: "I'm so glad you're a part of the family of God," and then we look at the person beside us and sing, "I'm surprised you're part of the family of God."

Sometimes it's hard enough to love our own family. One guy told his wife that if she had really loved him she would have married someone else.
How do we make love a dominating characteristic of our lives?

I. Make love a priority

Indeed loving people is difficult. Yet this is what the Bible commands. "For this is the message you have heard from the beginning: we should love one another" (1 John 3:11). We spend time on what we deem important. For many of us these choices are valid: time with family and friends, work, prayer, serving the poor, fighting for rights, protesting wrongs. But as the Scripture reminds us, "And if I donate all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body in order to boast but do not have love, I gain nothing" (1 Cor. 13:3).

Even though we have the freedom to set our own priorities, Jesus made a point of defining certain ones of them for us: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and most important commandment. The second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself'" (Matt. 22:37-39). Love, then, is not a gray area the Scriptures. Jesus gave love priority over all other Christian virtues. Every thought, response, and act of goodwill must first pass through the fine filter of love, or it means nothing at all.

In "Strength to Love", Martin Luther King, Jr., encouraged us to realize that "our responsibility as Christians is to discover the meaning of this command and seek passionately to live it out in our daily lives." But why love? What makes it so important?

II. Understand the importance of love

When Jesus spoke to the disciples regarding the first and second greatest commands, he explained that "All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands" (Matt. 22:40).
To the people of Israel, as well as for many believers today, it would seem more logical for obedience to be the peg from which the Law hangs, since the point of writing a law is adherence to it. And it is written, "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments" (John 14:15). Yet Jesus also said, "I give you a new commandment: love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another" (John 13:34). The apostle Paul goes on to tell us "Love does no wrong to a neighbor. Love, therefore, is the fulfillment of the law" (Rom. 13:10).
This may sound irrelevant to our generation that depends on police departments, guns, and force to uphold and fulfill the law. Yet Jesus' simple command requires greater strength than any of us naturally possess - more power than any man-made weapon.
The logic of Paul's interpretation of Jesus' command that love fulfills the Law seems equally simple. For if one loves his neighbor, he will not commit adultery with his neighbor's spouse. If he loves his coworker, he will not lie to him. And if loves his enemy, he will not slander him. Love fulfills the law, because if we truly love every person because he is a person, we will not desire to hurt or violate him or her, thus never break the law. God established love as the impetus for obedience.

MAY THE TRUE LOVE OF GOD BE IMPARTED TO US IN JESUS NAME
