WHY OUR PRAYER NOT ANSWER (PT FOUR )

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: WHY OUR PRAYER NOT ANSWER (PT FOUR )

Lack of transparency with God and with others

James 5:16 says, “Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed” (NASB).

James is ahreing a truth about God: When we confess our sins to one another, which requires us to be absolutely transparent, God is able to heal and cleanse us. We experience a spiritual, physical, and emotional restoration. In addition, our transparency heps others, because it shows them that they are not alone in their difficulties.

So we must be transparent to God before He can answer our prayers
Psalm 24:4-5 KJV
He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. [5] He shall receive the blessing from the Lord , and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

FATHER IN JESUS NAME, GIVE US GRACE TO BE HONESTLY WITH YOU ALWAYS IN JESUS NAME

Mountain of Fire Pastor Battling Blindness; Cries Out That G.O. Gave Him Oil Instead of Money

I don't know if I should say this pastor lacks faith or it is the General Overseer of MFM that is to blame?
Pastor Lawrence Okechukwu Amuruche, a 61-year-old father of two, has accused the General Overseer of his church, the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Pastor D.K. Olukoya, of giving him anointing only oil and prayer points rather than offering him money to treat and help stop the cataract growing in his eyes.

Pastor Amuruche, who heads the Satelite town branch of the church, revealed that he had been battling with eye cataract which grew on one eye and may affect the second if he didn’t get medical help immediately.
According to the MFM Pastor: “At the hospital, they said I should provide N450,000 per eye. That is N900,000 for the two eyes, but I cannot afford it. I did an eye test for which I paid N130,000 pending the time I will get money for the surgery. But I have not been able to raise money and my situation is getting worse by the day”.
Asked if his church had done anything to assist him, he said: “I have gone to my General Overseer for money to do the surgery. To get him was a problem. It was just last week that I was able to get him. Instead of giving me money to do the surgery, he gave me anointing oil, prayer points and water to be washing my face.
"I told him that I have prayed. I have been doing fasting and have been doing vigils concerning the eyes, but it has been deteriorating. If my coming out to seek for help will lead to my sack, let him sack me and I will go instead of losing my eyes in the name of ministry...

"If I go blind, I will not be able to minister, I will not pastor and I will be in the house and they will not pay me”.

Speaking with The Sun, he revealed that the eye problem started when his eyes were constantly itching him, and that he later had blurry sight. He went to see an ophthalmologist. The optician, according to him, said he had developed an eye cataract and he urgently needed surgery if not his two eyes are going blind.

According to ReportGhanaNews, the Pastor(pictured above) was preaching to his congregation on a Sunday morning then he ask people with health problems to stand up and come close to touch a specific place on his body for healing.

While everyone was touching the Pastor’s head, shoes and shoulder; this woman, a bishop of same congregation decided to hold the pastor’s priv’ates for healing.

The Pastor ask why she hold his priv’ates and the woman said, “her husband pen*s is not working anymore so she believes when she hold the Pastor’s pen*s, her husband’s would be healed.” Then the pastor shouted, hallelujah somebody. Can you blame the lady, wasn’t she obeying simple instruction?

Romans 5:19 KJV
For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Romans 6:16 KJV
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Disobedience

…If we are to grow in our relationship with God and become strong people of prayer, we must learn to obey. Keeping free from sin is not enough. Neither is faith. If our mouths say that we believe, but our actions don’t back up that belief with a strong display of obedience, it shows the weakness of our belief. Obedience should be a natural outgrowth of faith in God. He that obeys God, trusts Him; he that trusts Him, obeys Him.

In one area of our life or a circumstances, God might give us a particular direction to follow, it is our right to obey and follow it as it is given then our prayer shall be answer

Ephesians 5:6 KJV
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

WHY OUR PRAYER NOT ANSWER (PT TWO)

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: WHY OUR PRAYER NOT ANSWER (PT TWO)

the second reason I will like to discuss with us this morning as we started yesterday is...

Lack of Faith

Lack of faith has an incredibly negative impact on a Christian’s life. Without faith, prayer has no power. Even Jesus was powerless to perform any miracles in Nazareth because of the people’s lack of faith

(Mark 6:1-6)… James calls one who doubts “like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does”
(James 1:6-8).

…The word double-minded speaks of a condition where a person is emotionally divided, almost as if he had two souls. That condition makes a person unstable and incapable of hearing from God or receiving His gifts.

FATHER IN JESUS NAME, GIVE US FAITH THAT MOVE YOU TO WORK AND THAT RECEIVE MIRACLE IN JESUS NAME.

WHY OUR PRAYERS NOT ANSWERED (PT ONE)

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: WHY OUR PRAYERS NOT ANSWERED (PT ONE)

One of the reason i will talk on this morning is...

Unconfessed Sin

Unconfessed sin is probably the most common prayer killer.
Psalm 66:18 says, “If I regard wickedness in my heart, the Lord will not hear” (NASB).

When the Scripture talks about regarding wickedness, it’s referring to unconfessed sin. God is perfect and can’t abide sin in us. If we knowingly tolerate sin in our lives, it pushes God away from us. As a result, it makes our prayers powerless.

The good news is that when we confess sin, God forgives it, and it’s gone. The slate is clean and we are no longer held accountable.

Jeremiah 31:34 says, “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”

Not only are we forgiven, but God chooses to truly forget our sins of the past. At that point our relationship is restored, and our prayers regain their power. Our past actions may still have consequences, but the sin itself is forgiven.

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME, HELP US TO ALWAYS WORK IN YOUR PART AND GIVE US POWER OVER SIN IN JESUS NAME

Who is your master ?

Topic: Who is your master ?

Text: Romans 6:12-18 KJV
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. [13] Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. [14] For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. [15] What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. [16] Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? [17] But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. [18] Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Matthew 6:24 KJV
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

You must serve someone
1. Flesh
2. Spirit

This two must lead us somehow but to whom you yield to is your master

WHY IS GOD ASKING US THIS QUESTION TODAY, WHO IS YOUR MASTER ?

Malachi 1:6 KJV
A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the Lord of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?

God want to know what you claim you are to him, as a workers as a christian, as a minister, where is his honour ? Where is Gods reference in us the way we worship him ? Is God please ? If men is okey with you is God okey ?

WHY WE MUST TAKE OUR STATUS ?
its because Our God is a jealous God, he won't bless you and allow you to use the blessing to serve Satan

WHAT IS SINFUL NATURE ?
Romans 7:18-20 KJV
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. [19] For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. [20] Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

If you are in the category of sinful nature, there is nothing good in it according to the scripture.
THIS ARE THE PRODUCT OF PEOPLE LIVING IN FLESH
Galatians 5:19-21 KJV
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these ; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, [20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, [21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
THIS PEOPLE WHO HAVE THIS CHARACTER WILL NOT GET TO HEAVEN UNLESS THEY REPENT

WHAT IS RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD (living in the spirit)
If God is your master you are save and forever

BENEFIT OF LIVING IN THE SPIRIT (RIGHTEOUSNESS)
If you make God your master,

Psalm 103:2-6 KJV
Bless the Lord , O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: [3] Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; [4] Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; [5] Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. [6] The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

CONCLUSION
Romans 6:22 KJV
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

Bema Seat - What It Isn't

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Bema Seat - What It Isn't

The Bema Seat judgment does not determine salvation. Rather, it is when believers must give an account of their lives to Christ. It is very important to not confuse the Bema Seat with the Great White Throne judgment.

Revelation 20:11-15 describe this judgment,
"Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire.

The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire." The Great White Throne is where those who do not believe in Jesus Christ are judged and condemned.

In contrast, the Bema Seat is for believers whose salvation has already been secured by faith in Jesus Christ (John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10).
We should not focus on the Bema Seat as Christ judging our sins, but rather as God rewarding us according to our lives. Yes, we will surely have to give an account of our lives. Romans 14:10-12 explains, "You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother?
For we will all stand before God's judgment seat. It is written: "'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.'" So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God." Part of this judgment is answering for the sins we committed. At the same time, I do not think judgment is going to be the focus of the Bema Seat.

In 2 Corinthians 5:10, Paul gives the Corinthian church an illustration of the Bema Seat, "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad."

Paul is teaching us that all Christians will stand before the Bema Seat of Christ. At the Bema Seat, Jesus Christ will bring to light every deed-good or bad-that each believer has done on earth since he or she became a Christian. Every Christian will be rewarded based on his words, deeds, and faithfulness.

IN JESUS NAME, FATHER LORD HELP US TO BE FAITHFUL TO YOU TILL THE END. AMEN

Bema Seat - What Is It and When Is It?

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Bema Seat - What Is It and When Is It?

The concept of the Bema Seat comes from the ancient Olympics, where a judge would sit on the Bema Seat at the finish line. The judge's purpose was to determine what position the runners came in-first, second, and so on-and then to give out the appropriate rewards.
That is the imagery behind what is known as the Bema Seat.

Also known as the Judgment Seat of Christ, the Bema Seat is described in 1 Corinthians 3:12-15, "If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames."
Your gold, silver, and costly stones are works done for the glory of God, with the right motive, and in dependence upon the power of the Holy Spirit.

There is some debate as to the exact timing of the Bema Seat. Some understand it to occur at the moment of death for each believer.
Others believe the Bema Seat to occur during the end times, with all believers being judged at that time. It does not truly matter when the Bema Seat occurs.
It is far more important that we be prepared for the Bema Seat.

LET US PRAY
IN JESUS NAME, FATHER DONT LET US MISS THE HEAVENLY REWARD OF THE GOOD WORK DONE ON THIS EARTH IN JESUS NAME. AMEN

ECOWAS Countries Optimistic Of Single Currency By January 2015

Officials of West African apex banks have expressed optimism of introducing a single currency in the region by January 1, 2015 if issues of macro-economic stability and inflation are addressed by member countries.

The banks’ officials gave the expression at a a meeting organised by the West African Monetary Zones committee in Abuja on Monday.

The Supervising Minister of National Planning, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda, said achieving a single currency within the ECOWAS sub region was significant to the growth of the region’s economy.

Ambassador Yuguda therefore called on leaders in the sub region to fastrack policies and programmes that would help in achieving the set target at the right time.

He maintained that one key decision that would be taken at the meeting was how to attain a single currency within the region.

Although previous dates for the commencement of the policy was not achieved, government officials at the meeting believe the implementation of key policies by member countries is key to the attainment of the objective by 2015.

Yuguda stressed that, achieving the ‎aspiration of a single currency might not be without some challenges, explaining that officials of international bodies have promised to give a hand of support.

They also advised that the non-tariff barriers in the sub region should be removed.

Several dates for the implementation of the single currency policy in the West African region had been fixed before but was not actualised, but Ambassador Yuguda, however, said that the experts’ hopes are high that it would be actualised within less than six months left.

The meeting, which had experts in attendance and representatives from member countries, was the 37th meeting of the West African Monetary Zone.

When is it?

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: The Second Coming - When is it?

Perhaps no event in the history of the world has been more anticipated than the Second Coming. Every generation of believers, including believers in the New Testament, has strongly believed that Jesus would return in their lifetime.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-2 tells us, "Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come." Some are mistakenly frightened that they have missed the Second Coming. Others doubt that it will ever occur, "They will say, 'Where is this "coming" he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation"
(2 Peter 3:4). So, we must avoid both extremes:

(1) believing that the Second Coming has already occurred, and
(2) believing that the Second Coming will never occur.

Many Bible teachers have made guesses as to when the Rapture and Second Coming will occur. They have all been incorrect.
The Bible declares, "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father" (Matthew 24:36).
The Bible describes several events which must occur before the Second Coming (Matthew 24:4-29; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12; Revelation chapters 6-18).

So, we are to anticipate the Second Coming, but have a biblical understanding of it. We are not to set dates and times, but live our lives as if it could happen any day, any moment. Matthew 25:19-21, "After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them…His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'"

Are you ready for the Second Coming of Christ?

LET US PRAY
FATHER HELP US NOT TO MISS THE RAPTURE IN JESUS NAME. AMEN

I Don't Believe in God - Wole Soyinka

Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, yesterday, decried the attempt by some terrorists to truncate the education of Nigerian youths by abducting them, declaring that every effort will be made to ensure that youths are educated.
Professor Soyinka, who played host to 80 students from different parts of the country, who were finalists in an essay competition to commemorate his 80th birthday in Abeokuta said: “It is bad that some people are bent on truncating the education of the youths.
“Some of you have come from many parts of the country, especially those that have insecurity challenges. Nobody will mess with your education. The trouble some of us have taken to promote education will not be truncated by few people.”
He denied the statement credited to him in the media to the effect that Nigeria cannot break on account of insurgency.
He said: “I did not say categorically that Nigeria cannot break on account of Boko Haram and corruption. But one part of the country is in trouble and we will not abandon them. If one section of the country says they have the power to rule, then I can say let them go.”
On the issue of homosexuality, Soyinka said: “It is a biological issue. State should not interfere in the life of an adult. People should be allowed to live their lives the way they like.”
Citing the case of former governor of Zamfara State, Sanni Yerima and his marriage to a minor, Soyinka said: “Legislators have lost all moral rights to speak about homosexuals. They have failed to protect the girl child in this nation.”

On God’s existence Answering a question about the existence of God, Soyinka said: “It has been a source of inspiration to many, especially the ethical people. Sometimes their beliefs make them to act in different ways.
“I do not want people to believe in anything that inconveniences others. I do not believe in ghost. Do I believe in God as represented by Christians? No. Do I believe in God as represented by Muslims? No. I believe in humanity.”
Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, in his speech at the occasion, congratulated the students for their feat and enjoined them to be focused and dedicated. He reiterated his administration’s stand in the provision of quality education for the people of the state.
He said: “We are growing our future leaders and the future Soyinkas. There is nothing anybody can give you apart from education. The person we are celebrating today made his marks because he was educated.
“You must first be educated before anything and that is why my administration is providing free education at the primary and secondary levels.
“I hope we will have many more of Soyinkas in the future and I am sure that he will be happy to see many more of our youths step into his shoes. That is why we are putting up a system that would make that possible.
“Soyinka is not just a writer, he is an activist and the one who keeps governments on their toes.
“He is one of those that fight for the masses and I believe it is a legacy we will like to keep.”

The Second Coming - Why is it important?

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: The Second Coming - Why is it important?

Foremost of all, belief in the Second Coming of Christ is important because it is clearly what the Bible teaches. To doubt the reality of the Second Coming is to doubt the reliability and validity of God's Word.

Second, the Second Coming is important because Jesus Himself promised it. If Jesus was wrong about the Second Coming, how can we trust anything else He taught? The Second Coming of Christ is our hope and confidence that God is in control of all things and is faithful to His Word and His promises. Titus 2:13, "…while we wait for the blessed hope - the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ."

The Second Coming is also important because it will come at the time when the world is most in need of a righteous King. Revelation chapters 6-18 describe the end times prior to the Second Coming of Christ.
The world will be devastated, millions of people will perish, and the most evil person in all history will be ruler of the entire world.

The Second Coming of Christ puts all this to an end. Revelation 19:15-16 says, "Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. 'He will rule them with an iron scepter.' He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS."

LET US PRAY
IN JESUS NAME, MAY WE NOT BE A CAST OUT OF GOD KINGDOM IN JESUS NAME. AMEN

I Led the Attack that Killed Army Officers; Free My Men & I Will Bring Back Your Girls ––Shekau

I Led the Attack that Killed Army Officers; Free My Men & I Will Bring Back Your Girls ––Shekau

The heartless leader of the Boko Haram terrorist group Abubakar Shekau has threatened he would continue to keep the Chibok schoolgirls in captivity until the federal government of Nigeria release his men currently in the various detention facilities across the country.

Shekau, who appeared in the 15-minute-long video fully kitted in military fatigue with a black band wrapped on his head and an AK 47 rifle hanging across his bulletproof-covered chest, read his message from a spiral bound document, where he made shocking statements.
Shekau said he personally led the last Sunday’s attack on the military barracks in Damboa that led to the death of several soldiers and policemen, among them a lieutenant-colonel and a divisional police officer (DPO).
In his words: “We have recovered several arms from the Damboa military base attack including armored tanks and Kalashnikov rifles. (Pointing at the stolen arms) Look at what God has given us free of charge; we filled our vans with ammunition like sands. This is what is called religion and worship. (singing) I am a trouble to the people of the west, Nigerians and a good news to the believers).”

Delivering his message in Arabic, Hausa and a spice of his native language, Kanuri, the terror kingpin appeared happy and confident as he often interjected his message with cynic leers, song and even dancing.

According to Leadership, he said his group was responsible for the bombing in Abuja shopping plaza, Kano, Jos, Konduga (Borno State) and the recent blast in Lagos which the security sources said was a fire disaster.

The hoodlum also eulogized some recognized terrorist organizations’ leaders in the Middle East, whom he said are his comrades in struggle and jihadist brethren. Standing in front of four armoured tanks seized from Nigerian soldiers and surrounded by armed men with hoods on their faces, Shekau took some dance steps.

Part of Shekau’s message reads: “Nigerians are saying that BringBackOurGirls, and we are telling Jonathan to bring back our arrested warriors, our army (laughing). The Miyetti Allah too is talking. Let them bring back our own soldiers or no BringBackOurGirls. (speaking in faulty English and ostensibly to President Jonathan) Tell me who you are; I am reading the Quran, and you are reading the constitution; I am reading the rules and regulations of the Quran, and you are doing that of the constitution, the book of Lord Lugard, the book of Tafawa Balewa.

The video ended with the apparently deranged murderer raising an AK-47 rifle with one hand and firing into the air severally using the rapid action mode.

Alleged Bomber, Who Disguises as Mad Man, Caught in OAU

A person, who claimed to a mad man, was on Sunday caught with explosive substances around a hostel in Obafemi Awolowo University on Sunday.
The arrested person identified himself as Adedayo Rasaki Daniel.
The young dark man was caught with explosives materials including Petrol, wires, stove, and newspapers at about 12noon by students of OAU.
A resident in Ile-Ife, Tope, confirmed that he knew Daniel to be a mentally ill person on the street, saying he was popularly called “Rasaki syco master”.
The students alleged that Daniel could be responsible for a fire outbreak, suspected to be an explosion, which occurred in the institution on Wednesday.
They also said the composure of Daniel does not proof that he was not mentally okay.
It was learnt that the alleged bomber was not a student of the institution but pretended to be one before he was caught.
It would be recalled that there was confusion over fire outbreak, suspected to be cause by explosion, at Block seven, room 107 of the hall on Wednesday.
An eyewitness, identified as Baba T said, “A guy was caught trying to break into one of the rooms in Awo Annex. Explosive materials were found in his bag. He has been bartered and interrogated at Awo cafe where he confessed that he was sent and that he was behind the Wednesday arguable explosion. He has been taken to floor O(security investigative room) by the Awoites.”
Narrating how Daniel was caught, another eyewitness, Abbey said, “We are not much on campus, and few of us here are doing our project. So it makes it easier for us to identify a strange face. When we saw him, we were not convenient and in the spirit of OAU, we confronted him and asked him to identify himself. He could not do that and we decided to check his luggage.
“It was when we checked the things on him that we discovered that explosive materials were on him. We initially thought they were cooking materials until we searched further and found liquid materials that we could not ordinarily identify. We later called our final year science students to access the substances and they confirmed that they were part of the ingredients that could cause explosion.”
The students also suspected that Daniel wanted to “explode” the hall when they would have gone to view the final football match of the just concluded World Cup.
“That was how there was explosion on Wednesday when we went to watch world cup. He thinks he will be successful again. We are not fools here and we are security conscious. We know strange faces despite the large capacity of our school,” one of them said.
When contacted, The Chief Security Officer of OAU, Mr. Paul Ogidi confirmed that a person was arrested and taken to the Police Station.
Also, the Public Relations Officer of the School, Mr. Biodun Olarewaju told our correspondent on the telephone that necessary steps have been taken to confirm if the arrested person was mad or not.
He said, “What happened was that our security unit apprehended somebody, whose move was suspected not to be wrong. While they searched him, a stove, old newspapers copies, and some liquid mixture suspected to be kerosene, petrol or so was found on him.
“From our observation, the young guy may not be ok. We don’t want to live anything to chances because of the security challenges in the country and that is why we handed him over to the Police. We want the police to use their expertise to check if the guy is mentally ok or not. I wish to put on record that our security officers are ever vigilant, and we don’t want havoc here, machinery has been put in motion to safeguard lives and property.”
It would be recalled that some students of OAU had during their congress before the shutdown of the school threatened to join militancy, kidnapping and terrorism if there fee was not reversed.

The Second Coming - What is it?

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: The Second Coming - What is it?

The Second Coming is when Jesus Christ will return to earth in fulfillment of His promises and to fulfill the prophecies made about Him. Jesus Himself promised, "At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory" (Matthew 24:30). Revelation 19:11-12 proclaims this about the Second Coming, "I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself."

Those who witnessed Christ's ascension into heaven after his death and resurrection heard the angels declare in Acts 1:11, "Men of Galilee…why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." The Second Coming is the literal return of Jesus Christ to earth as King in power and glory to rule for a thousand years (Revelation 20:1-6).

The Old Testament prophets did not seem to fully understand this distinction between the two comings of Jesus (His birth and His Second Coming) as seen in Isaiah 7:14; 9:6-7; and Zachariah 14:4. Those who argue that Jesus was not the Messiah because He did not fulfill all the Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah, fail to take into account the Second Coming of Christ, in which He will fulfill all the prophecies about the Messiah. Christ's first coming was to stand in our place and receive the penalty exacted for sin. His Second Coming will defeat sin for all eternity.

The second coming should also not be confused with the event referred to as the Rapture. The Rapture refers to a time when Jesus Christ will come to remove all believers from the earth (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:50-54). The church holds many positions on the rapture, but the Second Coming is undisputed. The Second Coming is the event when Jesus Christ returns to the earth to defeat evil and establish His reign of justice and peace.

LET US PRAY
FATHER LORD JESUS CHRIST, HELP US TO PREPARE FOR THE RAPTURE AND ABSTAIN FROM SIN IN JESUS NAME
AMEN

What Does The Bible Say About Divorce and Remarriage?

The Bible is explicit about divorce and remarriage. In the Old Testament, Moses permitted a man to obtain a divorce on just about any grounds. "If a man marries a woman who becomes displeasing to him because he finds something indecent about her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce, gives it to her and sends her from his house, and if after she leaves his house she becomes the wife of another man, and her second husband dislikes her and writes her a certificate of divorce, gives it to her and sends her from his house, or if he dies, then her first husband, who divorced her, is not allowed to marry her again after she has been defiled. That would be detestable in the eyes of the Lord. Do not bring sin upon the land the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance" (Deuteronomy 24:1-4).

Later on, in the New Testament, when Jesus was asked about divorce, He replied that Moses gave permission to divorce because of the hardness of their hearts. He said that in the beginning it was not this way. Jesus continued, "Haven't you read that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh?" So they are no longer two but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate" (Matthew 19:4-6).

Before God, marriage is a lifetime relationship that should never be severed by human action. In the book of Malachi, God says that He hates divorce" (Malachi 2:16). God's perfect will is the preservation of society and future generations by the preservation of marriages. God will give anyone great help in sustaining a marriage relationship or in the reconciliation of estranged marriage partners. In extreme cases, there are only two grounds for divorce and remarriage.

When adultery has take place, a divorce can be obtained, because adultery has already severed the marriage relationship and divorce is a formal acknowledgment of what has already taken place.

The apostle Paul added to the teachings of Jesus what is called the "Pauline privilege." According to this concept, Paul taught that if an unbelieving spouse leaves a believer, the believer is not bound to the marriage relationship, but is free to remarry" (1 Corinthians 7:15). And some people recognize such a thing as a "constructive desertion," which would be when a husband so brutalizes his wife that it is impossible to live with him any longer; or when a wife has so harassed, or brutalized her husband that it becomes impossible for him to stay with her. When that happens, whether or not the person actually moves out, the situation is the equivalent of desertion, and divorce and remarriage are permissible.

Except for these reasons, there is no justification given in the Bible for divorce. No grounds exist for divorce on the basis of incompatibility, lack of love, or differing career goals. Frankly, it seems impossible that two born-again Christians who are dedicated to serving Jesus Christ can find any grounds for divorce.

Obviously, when a person who does not have biblical grounds for divorce remarries, he or she is technically committing adultery.

What Should I Say To Two Believers Who Divorced, Remarried, And Are Now Aware Of What The Bible Says About Divorce?

Divorce is rampant in the United States, and it is rampant among Christians and non-Christians alike. There are some instances where people have married not once or twice, but three, four, five, or six times. They have had a succession of mates, a succession of children, and a succession of problems.

God is on the side of people. He loves people, and He understands what has happened in such situations. But it is impossible for me to say that this conduct is all right. A minister of God must teach what is in the Bible; yet the teaching must be tempered with the biblical understanding of God's love. It is very difficult to make hard and fast rules.

Does one, for example, tell a three-times-divorced man to go back to his previous mate? What if the previous mate is now remarried couple to make a second divorce and break up a second home? The basic rule is that divorce and remarriage are not permitted, except for adultery or desertion, and that is the rule the church should stick to. Young people should be made aware that marriage is for life - for keeps - and not something to be entered into and then gotten out of whenever one feels like it.

However, given the appalling state of marriage in the modern world, I feel that the church should use its power of "binding and loosing" (see Matthew 16:19) to provide guidance in the way of forgiveness to divorced and remarried couples who have received Jesus Christ after their divorce. In other words, the church should (and I personally would) say that what happened in your past life is covered by the blood of Christ. Enjoy your present marriage and live in it to the glory of God without recrimination. However, for Christians who have divorced (after being born again) for reasons other than adultery or desertion, I believe they should either be reconciled to their Christian mates or remain unmarried.

Finally, in these complex personal matters I recommend prayer, study of the Bible, and that you counsel with a wise and godly pastor in you own community.

Is Cruelty Grounds for Divorce?

It depends. I do not think mental cruelty is grounds for divorce if mental cruelty concerns the way a mate twists the toothpaste tube or hangs stockings in the bathroom. That type of mental cruelty has been defined in so many different contexts it has no meaning.

However, I do think physical brutality and abuse, and mental abuse of a nature that endangers the person's mind or body, are clearly grounds for divorce. The Pauline privilege, which I mentioned earlier, (1 Corinthians 7:15) permits divorce on the grounds of desertion by an unbelieving spouse. For mental cruelty to be grounds for divorce, it must involve conduct which makes it impossible to live with the spouse without endangering oneself.

The sort of cruelty I have in mind would not spring from a criticism of a souffle or a brother-in-law. Minor irritations need loving attention, but should not be allowed to rupture a holy relationship.

Obviously, a couple composed of two born-again Christians does not fall under the Pauline privilege. Divorce and remarriage for any reason are truly unthinkable for two people who sincerely love God and are trying to serve Him.

DISCIPLES MUST LOVE THEMSELVES

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: DISCIPLES MUST LOVE THEMSELVES

One who loves other believers in Jesus Christ (John 13:34-35; I John 5:1; cf. Matthew 10:34-38; 12:46-50; Ephesians 4:3; Philippians 2:14-15).

Jesus said, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:34-35).

An amazing thing happens to a person at Salvation. The moment one receives Jesus Christ (John 1:12), the Lord transfers him out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God’s dear son (Colossians 1:13).
And, in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, we become fellow citizens with all other sons and daughters of God. We join the family of God. And, “Whoever loves the Father, loves the child born of him” (I John 5:1).
Love for other believers is a distinguishing mark of a true disciple of Jesus. We are members of His body (Eph. 5:30). We are members of one another (Ro. 12:5; cf. I Cor. 12:24-27).

Sometimes our union and identification with Jesus Christ even places a strain on earthly family relationships (Mt. 10:34-37).

DISCIPLES OF JESUS MUST LEARN OBEDIENCE

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: DISCIPLES OF JESUS MUST LEARN OBEDIENCE

Text: John 8:31 KJV
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

(Matthew 28:19-20; John 8:31; cf. 14:15; 15:14; Luke 6:46; cf. Matthew 7:21 w/12:46-50.

According to Jesus, obedience distinguishes merely professing disciples from true disciples. Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples” (John 8:31). Discipleship without obedience to Jesus is unthinkable! “If you love me you will keep my commandments” (Jn. 14:15). “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord and do not do what I say?” (Lk. 6:46). “Not everyone who says to me ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven” (Matt. 7:21; cf. 12:46-50).

The very work of disciple-making necessitates some measure of accountable relationship toward wholehearted obedience to Jesus Christ.” Mt. 28:20 “…teaching them to obey whatever I commanded you.”

A discipleship program that lacks this concern is surely misguided! (Author of “The Disciple Making Pastor” and “The Disciple Making Church” writes “If we have not taught obedience and encouraged it through accountability, we have not discipled” (Bill Hull). (cf. I Cor. 8:1ff). Disciple-making accountability is: “Helping people keep their commitments to God.” The obedience is to Jesus not to man.
Are you an obedient disciple of Jesus Christ ?

FATHER IN JESUS NAME, HELP US ALL TO ALWAYS OBEY YOUR COMMANDMENT AND FOLLOW AFTER YOUR STEP IN JESUS NAME. AMEN

WARNING to Christian who can not confesses Jesus Christ openly

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: WARNING to Christian who can not confesses Jesus Christ openly

(Matthew 10:32-33; Mark 8:38; II Timothy 2:12-13).

Jesus said it plainly, “Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven” (Matthew 10:32-33).

A true disciple goes public for Jesus Christ. It’s a contradiction to be a disciple of Jesus incognito. We cannot go under cover for Jesus (Mt. 10:32-33). Of course, Jesus addressed the temptation to hide our testimony (see: Matthew 5:13-16). He did this directly after declaring the persecuted to be blessed.

“Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you” (Matthew 5:10-12).

Disciples Must Be Watchful And Praying

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Disciples Must Be Watchful And Praying

TEXT: Matthew 26:41 says, “Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Our Lord Jesus Christ, in His last hour, taught His disciples something important: they needed to be alert and have a prayerful heart in their daily life.

By the grace of God, we are born again and are filled with the Holy Spirit. The “old man” within us is gone (he has been crucified with Christ) and we have become a “new man” in Christ.

However, even though we have become new men, we still have our flesh in us. Our new man’s desire is to please God. However, while the new man seeks heavenly things, the flesh’s desires are earthly achievements and material things. Because of our flesh, we will always have a “pull” and temptation to obey our fleshly desires and commit sin.
The apostle Paul, a mature man in God, is seen struggling in Romans 7:15: “For what I am doing, I do not understand, for I am not practicing what I would like to do but I am doing the very thing I hate.” He talks about his struggle with his flesh.

Our Lord Jesus Christ, the most spirit-filled man to have ever lived on this earth, asked his disciples to pray for him because while His spirit was willing to do the will of God, his flesh was weak. Staying alert, watching, and praying against satisfying the desires of our flesh should be integral parts of our everyday lives until we have taken our last breaths.

63 Girls, Women Escape From Boko Haram's Deadly Camp

Sixty-three women abducted by the Boko Haram Islamic sect from Kummabza village in the Damboa LGA of the troubled Borno State have escaped from their kidnappers, security sources confirmed on Sunday.

A member of the youth vigilante group, Adamu Suleiman, said:
“I have just received an alert from my colleagues in Damboa area that about 63 of the abducted women and girls had made it back home. They took to their heels when their captors left them at the camp to go for a major operation.
“We don’t have the details of their escape yet, but we believe God gave them the opportunity at the time the insurgents came in their large numbers to attack Damboa on Friday.
“We still believe seven women could still be in the camp or perhaps something must have happened to them.”

Consequently, security sources said the women had reunited with their families. Some witnesses said that their unexpected freedom was facilitated when the insurgents left them in the camp to embark on an operation where they attacked military formations on Friday, and killed a Military Officer and several others.

Recall that 70 women were allegedly abducted by insurgents from Kummabza village two weeks ago. The FG had denied the abduction but the Borno State Governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, set up an inquiry into the kidnap. The panel had yet to submit its report when security sources confirmed that the women had escaped from their captors.

Also, investigations into the incident revealed that there was a grand conspiracy to cover up the abduction as the nation was still going through the embarrassment of the abduction of over 200 schoolgirls from Chibok.

A top Borno State government official had revealed that though 70 women were kidnapped, the government of the state was handling the issue with caution in order not to be drawn into another confrontation with the FG who believed that the abduction of the Chibok girls was masterminded by enemies of the Presidency.

Residents of the villages where the women were abducted said they looked unkempt on their return.

Student Kills His Dad Inside Redeemed Church Camp In Lagos

Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 21yrs old undergraduate, Tolani Ajayi, of Redeemers University at the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, for allegedly killing his father, Charles Ajayi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

The incident, according to the police, occurred on Tuesday, July 3, at their residence on Canaanland Street in the premises of Redeemed Christian Church of God’s Redemption Camp.
Tolani was said to have slaughtered his father with a knife and later butchered him with a cutlass. Afterwards he allegedly packed his father’s remains in a box and dragged them into the bush within the camp...

According to Punch, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the police recovered the remains of the 60-year-old lawyer in a bush along Canaanland Street.

He said, “The policemen who noticed the ground mark created by the box as Tolani dragged it, followed this lead which led them to the strange discovery.”

Tolani, a 300-level undergraduate in the Department of History and International Relations, was arrested same day in his late father’s residence after the discovery of the corpse and police preliminary findings.

“When the police got to deceased’s house, the suspect was in a relaxed mood. When interrogated, he lied that his dad had gone on evangelism, but eventually confessed to the crime when he was taken to the Redemption Camp Divisional headquarters.”

The suspect was said to have told police that problem arose when his dad confronted him for not responding to all the prayer points he (the deceased) was raising, adding that he (father) later slapped him.

He said he got angry and made a dash for the kitchen and picked up a knife, with which he stabbed his father, adding that he later used a cutlass on him.

It was leant that the police had recovered the knife and cutlass used in committing the crime. The Department of Criminal Investigation is now handling the case and the son may soon appear in court.

Be Watchful In All Things

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Be Watchful In All Things

TEXT: 2 Timothy 4:5 KJV
But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

the Apostle Paul instructs us to “be watchful in all things”. This admonition comes on the heels of a warning of a time when people would not endure sound doctrine.

It is a wise thing for us to heed Paul’s instruction. If there ever was a time to be watchful, now is the time.

What should be the scope of our watchfulness? I believe it should be all encompassing. We are to watch for those who would lead others astray and teach poor doctrine. We are to be watchful concerning our own hearts and conduct in these times.
We should be watchful concerning our brothers and sisters in the faith; as not to miss an opportunity to bless them. And finally, we are to be watchful toward the future…for Jesus is coming again.
The Lord has called us to be aware (watchful) of all things, that we might be ready vessels that He can use to fulfill His purpose.

Are You On The Narrow Way?

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Are You On The Narrow Way?

Text: Matthew 7:13-14 KJV
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: [14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

1. Everyone is on a spiritual journey as they travel through life...
a. Whether religious or not, we travel a spiritual path
b. Every day we make choices that affects the direction in which we
are headed

2. Many people think that the paths we can travel are many...
a. In one sense that may be true; there are all kinds of religions
b. But in another sense there are really only two paths or ways

3. In His sermon on the mount, Jesus spoke of these two ways - Mt 7:
13-14
a. Each with its own beginning, each with its own end
b. One way is heavily populated, the other is traveled by few

4. Where are you in your spiritual sojourn?
a. Are you on the right way?

MALE INFERTILITY – CAUSES OF LOW SPERM COUNT

The production of sperm is a complex process and requires normal functioning of the testicles (testes) as well as the hypothalamus and pituitary glands (organs in your brain that produce hormones that trigger sperm production). Once sperm are produced in the testicles, delicate tubes transport them until they mix with semen and are ejaculated out of the penis. Problems with any of these systems can affect sperm production.

Also, there may be problems of abnormal sperm shape (morphology), movement (motility) or function. Often the cause of low sperm count isn’t ever identified.

Low Sperm Count – Medical Causes

Low sperm count can be caused by a number of health issues and medical treatments. Some of which include:

Varicocele - A varicocele is a swelling of the veins that drain the testicle. It’s a common cause of male infertility. This may prevent normal cooling of the testicle, leading to reduced sperm count and fewer moving sperm. The treatment of a varicocele often improves sperm quality and overall fertility.

Infection - Some infections can interfere with sperm production and sperm health or can cause scarring that blocks the passage of sperm. These include some sexually transmitted infections, such as chlamydia and gonorrhea; inflammation of the prostate (prostatitis); inflamed testicles; and other infections of the urinary tract or reproductive organs.

Ejaculation problems – Retrograde ejaculation occurs when semen enters the bladder during orgasm instead of emerging out of the tip of the penis. Various health conditions can cause retrograde ejaculation, including diabetes, spinal injuries, and surgery of the bladder, prostate or urethra. Certain medications also may result in retrograde ejaculation, such as blood pressure medications known as alpha blockers. Some men with spinal cord injuries or certain diseases can’t ejaculate semen at all, though they still can produce sperm.
Antibodies that attack sperm - Anti-sperm antibodies are immune system cells that mistakenly identify sperm as harmful invaders and attempt to destroy them.

Tumors - Cancers and nonmalignant tumors can affect the male reproductive organs directly, or can affect the glands that release hormones related to reproduction (such as the pituitary gland). Surgery, radiation or chemotherapy to treat tumors can also affect male fertility.

Undescended testicles- During fetal development, one or both testicles sometimes fail to descend from the abdomen into the sac that normally contains the testicles (scrotum). Decreased fertility is more likely in men with this condition.
Hormone imbalances. The hypothalamus, pituitary and testicles produce hormones that are necessary to create sperm. Alterations in these hormones, as well as from other systems such as the thyroid and adrenal, may impair sperm production.

Sperm duct defects - The tubes that carry sperm can be damaged by illness or injury. Some men are born with a blockage in the part of the testicle that stores sperm (epididymis) or a blockage of one of the tubes that carry sperm out of the testicles (vas deferens). Men with cystic fibrosis and some other inherited conditions may be born without sperm ducts altogether.

Chromosome defects - Inherited disorders such as Klinefelter’s syndrome — in which a male is born with two X chromosomes and one Y chromosome instead of one X and one Y — cause abnormal development of the male reproductive organs. Other genetic syndromes associated with infertility include cystic fibrosis, Kallmann’s syndrome and Kartagener syndrome.
Celiac disease - A digestive disorder caused by sensitivity to gluten, celiac disease can cause male infertility. Fertility may improve after adopting a gluten-free diet.

Certain medications - Testosterone replacement therapy, long-term anabolic steroid use, cancer medications (chemotherapy), certain antifungal and antibiotic medications, some ulcer medications and some other medications can impair sperm production and decrease male fertility.

Low Sperm Count – Environmental causes

Overexposure to certain environmental elements can affect sperm production or function. Specific causes include:

Industrial chemicals - Extended exposure to benzenes, toluene, xylene, herbicides, pesticides, organic solvents, painting materials and lead may contribute to low sperm counts.

Heavy metal exposure - Exposure to lead or other heavy metals also may cause infertility.
Radiation or X-rays - Exposure to radiation can reduce sperm production. It can take several years for sperm production to return to normal. With high doses of radiation, sperm production can be permanently reduced.

Overheating the testicles - Frequent use of saunas or hot tubs may temporarily lower your sperm count. Sitting for long periods, wearing tight clothing or using a laptop on your lap for long periods of time also may increase the temperature in your scrotum and reduce sperm production. The type of underwear you choose to wear is unlikely to significantly impact your sperm count.
Prolonged bicycling – Prolonged bicycling is another possible cause of reduced fertility due to overheating the testicles.
Health, Lifestyle And Other Causes Of Low Sperm Count

Other causes of low sperm count include:

Illegal drug use - Anabolic steroids taken to stimulate muscle strength and growth can cause the testicles to shrink and sperm production to decrease. Use of cocaine or marijuana may temporarily reduce the number and quality of your sperm as well.
Alcohol use - Drinking alcohol can lower testosterone levels and cause decreased sperm production.

Occupation – Certain occupations may increase your risk of infertility, including those associated with extended use of computers or video display monitors, shift work and work-related stress.
Tobacco smoking -Men who smoke may have a lower sperm count than do those who don’t smoke.

Emotional stress - Severe or prolonged emotional stress, including stress about fertility itself, may interfere with certain hormones needed to produce sperm.
Weight - Obesity can cause hormone changes that reduce male fertility.

Sperm testing issues - Lower than normal sperm counts can result from testing a sperm sample that was taken too soon after your last ejaculation; was taken too soon after an illness or stressful event; or didn’t contain all of the semen you ejaculated because some was spilled during collection. For this reason, results are generally based on several samples taken over a period of time.

Salvation is through faith in the LORD Jesus Christ!

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Salvation is through faith in the LORD Jesus Christ!

When Paul and Silas were thrown in prison in Philippi, an earthquake freed them, and they rescued the jailer from taking his own life, the jailer asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household,” they replied. (Acts 16:22-31).

Paul taught: If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).

And, “For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:12-13).

When summing up his ministry to the Ephesian elders, Paul said, “I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus” (Acts 20:21).

Paul taught the verses at Ephesians 2:8-10. Combining it with the summary of his teaching at Acts 20:21 we get a more complete statement: “For by grace are you saved, through faith [in our Lord Jesus] . . . .
Paul said, “For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living” (Romans 14:9).

Breaking the spirit of poverty

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Breaking the spirit of poverty

"How to know when you have the spirit of poverty dogging your heals."

Let's start with this. You have the ability to change any situation or circumstance that you currently face. This is done by finding the Word of God on a specific topic and renewing your mind with the truth about the matter. So, if you find that you are suffering with the spirit of poverty, decide that you will change your situation and put on the spirit of prosperity. What is the spirit of poverty? In order to determine if you have the spirit of poverty, there are two basic principles that you must know. These principles work for both the positive and negative. They are: 1) We shall have whatsoever we say (Mark 11:23). 2) As a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7). The Scripture says it like this: Mark 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he says shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he says. The following list will help you determine if you have a spirit of poverty. If you answer "yes" to any of the items below, you are bound by the spirit of poverty.

1. You justify your lack and make excuses.

2. You are critical of those who teach and preach prosperity.

3. You don't think that a man or woman of God should live in abundance.

4. You are afraid to give under the direction of the Holy Spirit.

5. You govern your finances with a lack of trust and don't believe God is your source

6. Your are suspicious that those around you may take your money.

7. When things are being handed out for free you grab as much as possible, even if you do not need the things at all.
8. When you can t even imagine tithing to God until after you win the state lottery.

9. Your source of money is the government, your boss, your parents ... You apply for any job that is advertised. You are willing to do any job - as long as there is money involved.

10. When you see a brother in Christ prospering and immediately the thought comes to your mind that he must be doing something immoral or illegal.
You cannot / do not want to work for free - you have to be paid for everything you do.

11. The idea of sowing into someone s ministry is just a mere hopeless impossibility to you.

12. You pray and ask God for just enough provision that you and your family won t starve.

13. Your weekly bill at the video store / computer games is more than you give in a month to your church.

14. You think tithe means putting change ( #10) in the basket in church. You tithe if you have money left. You think tithing is throwing money away or paying the pastor .

15. You try out many get rich quick schemes - you put your trust in winning competitions, winning the jackpot ... You even tell God you will start tithing if He helps you ...

16. You get jealous when others are blessed with money or physical things.

17. You think receiving is better than giving.

18. You go to bed worrying about money many nights.

19. You cannot believe that God really wants to bless you -

20. God only blesses white people, rich people, but not you.

God truly meant for his children to prosper, it s documented throughout the entire Bible. The great liar and deceiver Satan, the hater of all of mankind has successfully fooled the world - especially believers into believing that our closeness to God is based on how poor we are or are willing to be. We must stand up, take back what the enemy has stolen from us, and accept the blessings of God without condemnation!

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME BLESS US THIS DAY WITH YOUR DIVINE BLESSING IN JESUS NAME

Before you criticize me. I am not a pagan. I believe God exist and he is Real. I believe in the birth and death of Jesus Christ. I believe Jesus Died for our sins. I also believe in Miracles. But are we portraying him the right way. I keep on thinking are we practising Christianity the write way. We keep on asking God to destroy demons, Keep on telling them to suffer, burn and die. We keep on casting them. But I believe we should ask God to touch their hearts and help them and convert them to do good and do away with their evil deeds.

What if your brother was an evil doer and someone cast them to die. Would you like it? They need help, not to die. Another thing I would like to correct is the mentality that if you go to church you are automatically a
"Saint". Demons are in the church so as angels you know. There are many people that are just there physically but not spiritually present. Most youths come to church to chat with their friends and as so called "Set P" or "Yan". Most youths come to church to use Twitter, Instagram, Ping, WhatsApp. Etc.
Rather than listening to the sermon. The church is also a place of immorality both physically and mentally. Parents are also not left out; some of them simply come to network and get contracts. They also do not want to be known as the church "stabber" but rather "The Holy Sister" or "The Holy Brother”.

I personally do not believe in cursing. Someone steals just a little thing like biro and you curse that their father will die. What did that person’s father do to you? Do they have to pay for the sin of their children? But most curses don't work. If the person actually does wrong . God will punish them with what they deserve rather than us speaking against him or his family.

Most Pastors do not practice what they preach. They preach giving but they do not Give. The preach showing love but they do not show love. On every street there are at least 3 Churches (No Research Taken) I know of some pastors who do not get their power of miracles from God but from the Devil. The Pockets of the Pastors are getting fatter while the pockets of their members are slimmer. When I was younger I used to have so much respect for pastors, preachers and evangelist. But as I grew older I began to think twice.

These pastors keep on buying the best of cars and best of Planes. I have no problem with them driving good cars, But not extravagant cars and lifestyles. You see a pastor today buying 70 Million Naira Car. I am like are you going to die with this Car. Does a 70 million Car really add anything to your life. Some of their members don't even have enough to eat. I am not saying there are not pastors called up by God, Yes they are but they are getting extinct. You say you are running a "Christian School" Which is financed by the Church Money but the fees are the highest in Nigeria. The fees in Christian Schools are supposed to be subsidized with the same standard both internationally and nationally. Churches are supposed to set up free schools for the poor.

Most Sermons nowadays is about prosperity and breakthrough. Rather than holiness, doing the will of God and doing good in General like showing Kindness and Love. Yes by the Grace of God we shall be prosperous and we shall have Breakthrough. Tithe: That's a particular percentage of your income either disposable income or taxable income. What is the tithe actually used for? Is it used to enrich the life of the Pastor or the Less Privileged? Most Pastors use Convoys. What are you using Convoy for, is any one coming to kidnap you, are you a criminal? If you believe in God, God will protect you.

But if you believe in the power of the Nigeria Police and their Guns and so be it. For the women the Church is not the place for wearing your best "aso oke" "rura and buba" "ankara" "aso-ebi" keep that for the parties and weedings. Yes you can look Good. But do it in moderation and please dress decently. I didn't say dress like "Sister Mary" but dress moderately.

Church is a place to be humble and not show off. Note the Church walk way is not a runway to model on. The church is not a place to market your products or your services. The Church is being turned to a money making business venture instead of it being a place to improve the spiritual life of the people.

Some Pastors, Preachers and Envagelist are not called by God but sometimes in disguise of the Devil. There are so many fake pastors around. My advice is please watch the Church you go to and the lifestyles of the preachers and pastors. Also remember to do good always.
