WHAT BEAUTY ?

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

Topic: WHAT BEAUTY ?

TEXT: 2 Samuel 14:25 KJV
But in all Israel there was none to be so much praised as Absalom for his beauty: from the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him.

in life I have seen many young people and old looking for beauty in their search for life partner. I won't not condemned them for looking for beautiful or handsome person to chose, but my questions this morning is WHAT BEAUTY?

TYPE OF BEAUTY
1. Educational Beauty
2. Physical Beauty
3. Career Beauty
4. Make up Beauty
5. Beauty in Wisdom
6. Colour beauty
7. Character beauty
8. Shape Beauty
9. Wealth Beauty
10. Money Beauty
11. Achievement Beauty
12. Facial Beauty
13. Beauty in speech
14. Beauty in strength
15. Gods Beauty

NOTE this vers
Esther 1:11-12 KJV
To bring Vashti the queen before the king with the crown royal, to shew the people and the princes her beauty: for she was fair to look on. [12] But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king's commandment by his chamberlains: therefore was the king very wroth, and his anger burned in him.

Though she was a beautiful and fair woman she doesn't have a beauty if character for her husband

HOW TO GET THE RIGHT BEAUTIFUL PARTNER
Is by looking for the beauty of God in them.
Psalm 27:4 KJV
One thing have I desired of the Lord , that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord , and to enquire in his temple.

Every person that fear the lord is spiritually beautiful and is recommend for such will do well. Proverbs 31:30 KJV
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord , she shall be praised.

LET US PRAY
Psalm 90:17 KJV
And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

‘I am Sorry’- The Nanny Who Assaulted The Ugandan Baby Asks For Forgiveness

The nanny, Jolly Tumuhiirwe, who beat the 18 month old baby to near death asked for forgiveness and she told Ugandaonline.net why she did it.

Arnella Kamanzi, the 18-month-old baby who was tortured by a maid early this month was yesterday admitted at the pediatric section in Mulago Hospital for further medical examinations. “The baby was brought here for examinations and a number of tests will be done to establish whether she is in good health,” confirmed a source at the national referral hospital.

Jolly Tumuhiirwe, the maid who is the main actress in the ‘horror movie’ has been charged with attempted murder and she is due to appear in court on Dec. 08, 2014. Experts are also looking at the video to be sure it was not doctored.

Meanwhile, speaking from Luzira prison, Jolly Tumuhiirwe has asked the ‘world’ to forgive her for what she did….”My dad in Kabale was very sick and yet my mom did not have any money. I asked my bosses for some money to send to my dad but they told me that I hadn’t made a month yet and my father was dying, so it kept on haunting me.”

“That is the more reason I referred the anger to the baby but I’m sorry. But that madam (Arnella’s mom) is not easy. She used to say that I steal money from the clothes and Eric’s wallet, I eat the babies food…and yet I can’t eat the food, I’m not a baby, those were all lies, so, I was also not happy from my heart.”

“I feel guilty..ok when I was doing it I thought I was disciplining the baby because also the mother sometimes slaps her, I also saw from the mom. The torch I used was small and it’s not hard. I think, I will never do it again”

Jolly’s experience of Prison

“It’s not good at all even my fellow prisoners don’t want to associate with me, they want to beat me up. In fact they were saying that I should join them in their rooms, nobody likes me and I’m feeling bad I will never do it again, I ask the world to forgive me and also tell the bosses who have maids to treat them well.”

WHAT FORGIVENESS IS NOT

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: WHAT FORGIVENESS IS NOT.

TEXT: 2 corinthians 2:5-8 NIV
If anyone has caused grief, he has not so much grieved me as he has grieved all of you to some extent—not to put it too severely.
The punishment inflicted on him by the majority is sufficient. Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.
I urge you, therefore, to reaffirm your love for him.

......continue from yesterday.

9. FORGIVENESS IS NOT TRUSTING.
I hear this all the time. "My dad molested me. He said he’s sorry. Can he babysit my kids?" Answer? No way. No way. "My boyfriend or husband hit me, but he said he’s sorry.
Should we just pick up where we left off and keep going?" No way. See, trust is built slowly. It’s lost quickly. Trust is built slowly.
Those of you, now hear this, I’m your pastor who loves you. Let me put an airbag around this. For those of you who are naive and gullible, trust is to be given slowly, lost quickly.
Some of you give your whole heart away and never take it back. Give it away slowly and if someone sins against you grievously, trust has to be rebuilt over time. It’s not trusting. It’s not trusting. Some people can be trusted in time with fruit and keeping with repentance after they’ve gotten help.
Other people should never be trusted because the risk is simply too high.
This is particularly true with children who are vulnerable. We need to be exceedingly careful with who we trust.

10. FORGIVENESS IS NOT RECONCILIATION.
It’s not that you’re friends and you hang out and everything’s okay. You’re close and it’s back to normal. Not at all. It takes one person to repent. It takes one person to forgive. It takes two people to reconcile.

That’s why Paul says, "In as much as it is possible with you, seek to live at peace with all men." Here’s what he’s saying. Do your best, but you can’t be at peace with everyone. But if it doesn’t work out, make sure it’s their fault, not yours. Right? It takes two people to reconcile. This is where I’ve got a friend right now who’s in the midst of a divorce because she is acknowledging her own sin, her husband really is the problem, and she’s saying, "I love you, I forgive you. If you’ll meet with counselors, if you’ll submit to the authority in our church, I extend a hand to you and we can reconcile and save this marriage." He’s saying, "No. I don’t think I did anything wrong.
I don’t think I need to listen to the pastor. I don’t need to meet with a counselor. I don’t need to listen to anyone. It’s your fault." There will be no reconciliation. Not with a man like that. Repentance takes one, forgiveness takes one, reconciliation takes two.

FORGIVENESS AND JUSTICE
Now, in hearing this, some of you, like me, will have strong sense of justice. You say, "But if I forgive them, where’s the justice?" Justice comes, friends, ultimately from Jesus. Either they will come to faith in Christ and you will get your justice at the cross, where Jesus’ blood was shed in their place for their sins as Jesus’ blood was shed in your place for your sin, because Lord knows we’ve hurt people too, or, if they remain unrepentant, your forgiving them does not mean that they are ultimately forgiven.
They’ve sinned against you and God, and as you forgive them, you’re leaving them to Jesus. And if they live in a state of unrepentance and they don’t come to Jesus for forgiveness, they will stand before Jesus in the end. And they will be judged and sentenced to the conscious eternal torments of hell to suffer forever for all of their sin, paying their eternal debt to the living God. So, in forgiving someone, we are not neglecting justice. We’re leaving it to the perfect judge to enact perfect justice, either at the cross or in hell, but either way justice will be served. And we forgive in light of that.

WHAT FORGIVENESS IS NOT

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: WHAT FORGIVENESS IS NOT

TEXT: Ephesians 4:31-32 NIV
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

.......continue from yesterday
6. FORGIVENESS IS NOT CEASING TO FEEL THE PAIN.
Just because it hurts doesn’t mean you’ve failed to forgive. It still hurts. Some of you have had horrible things done to you. Horrible things done to you. With all sincerity, I’m sorry. And it would be so cruel to say, "Well, if you’ve forgiven them, it shouldn’t hurt anymore." Well, sure it does. See, we don’t hear in the Bible that all the tears are wiped from our eyes until the resurrection of the dead in the final unveiling of the kingdom. It means people are crying all the way to Jesus. It still hurts. It’s okay for it to bother you.

7. FORGIVENESS IS NOT A ONETIME EVENT.
It’s not like you forgive someone and it’s over. Sometimes, they keep sinning, so you need to keep forgiving. Or sometimes you forgive them, but there are emotional moments where it feels fresh. There’s one woman that I know, her husband committed adultery on her. And he earnestly repented and she honestly forgave him and they have sought biblical counseling and they have worked it out. But she confesses there are times, sometimes even at church, where her husband is doing nothing wrong, and it’s been some years, that she’ll just see him talking to another woman, maybe even a mutual friend, and just the sight of him with another woman causes her to feel all of that betrayal again and it rises up in her soul. And she needs to forgive him again for what he did in the past. Sometimes forgiveness is something that is regularly required.

8. FORGIVENESS IS NOT NEGLECTING JUSTICE.
You can forgive someone and call the police and have them arrested. You can forgive someone and testify against them in court. Romans 13 says to obey the government. They’d say, "I thought you forgave me." "I do. I forgive you. But you’ve committed a crime. You’ve broken the law. And so these are the consequences." If you’ve stolen, you need to pay it. back. If you’ve lied, you need to go tell the truth. It’s not a neglecting of justice. You can forgive and pursue justice.

WHAT FORGIVENESS IS NOT

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: WHAT FORGIVENESS IS NOT

Text: Colossians 3:13 NIV
Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

.....continue from yesterday

4. FORGIVENESS IS NOT WAITING FOR AN APOLOGY.
Some of you say, "I will forgive them as soon as they say they’re sorry." I hate to break it to you, so. many people are never going to apologize. Some people are going to continue in their destructive, rebellious, and foolish life course. Some people will be stubborn and religious and self-righteous and they’ll never confess or admit.
Some people will move away, you’ll never speak with them again. Some people will die before they articulate repentance. And so you forgive them before they apologize.

5. FORGIVENESS IS NOT FORGETTING.
This is one of the great Christian myths. "Well, we forgive and forget." No we don’t! You can’t forgive and forget. You can’t. You were raped, molested, abandoned, beaten, abused, cheated on, betrayed, lied about. "Forget it"? You can’t forget it. It’s impossible. And some will appeal to Bible books like Jeremiah, where it says that God will remember their sin no more. And they’ll say, "See? God doesn’t remember our sin." And let me tell you this, God does remember our sin. He’s omniscient, he’s all knowing, he forgets nothing, he knows everything. Right? It’s not like God’s in heaven going, "I forgot a whole bunch of things." He would cease to be God.

What does it mean that God remembers their sin no more? It means that God chooses not to interact with us based upon what we’ve done, but instead interact with us based upon what Christ has done. It means that he chooses to see us as new creations and he chooses to work for a new future. It means that at the forefront of God’s thinking toward us is not all of the sin that we’ve committed, but all the work that Jesus has done for us and in us and, by grace, will do through us.
But it’s not like God has no idea what you did yesterday. He forgets nothing. And I see this sometimes in counseling, where one person will sin against another person and they’ll say, "Well, you shouldn’t even remember that." It’s impossible. I had one situation recently. I looked at the husband, I was like, "You slept with her best friend. She’s not going to forget that ever. Now, she can choose not to interact with you in light of that. She could choose to forgive you. She can choose to not be stewing on that every minute of every day and seething. But she’s never going to forget that this happened because it was cataclysmic."

WHAT FORGIVENESS IS NOT.

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: WHAT FORGIVENESS IS NOT.

TEXT: Luke 11:4 KJV
And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

1. FORGIVENESS IS NOT APPROVING OR DIMINISHING SIN.
It’s not saying, "Well, it’s okay. Nobody’s perfect. Everybody makes a mistake," or, "It’s not a really big deal. Worse things have happened." No, it is a big deal! It’s so big that God died for it. So don’t dishonor the cross of Jesus and approve or diminish something that required the death of God.

2. FORGIVENESS IS NOT ENABLING SIN.
I see this frequently with wives who misunderstand submission. "Okay, the husband is the head of the home, he’s supposed to lovingly lead." Great. He’s supposed to lovingly lead by following Jesus, and if he’s not following Jesus, the wife shouldn’t follow him because her ultimate allegiance is to Jesus and the first job description of the wife is to be a helper. And sometimes husbands are foolish. They make stupid decisions financially. They make reckless decisions spiritually. They buck godly, spiritual authority trying to correct them. And in the name of forgiving them, the wife comes along and enables him. She just is complicit in his rebellion and sin and folly. You can forgive someone without enabling their sin, participating in it. You can have a friend or a family member who is an addict, for example, you can forgive them without enabling them. Forgiving is not enabling. Forgiving can even include confronting and rebuking, and sometimes it must.

3. FORGIVENESS IS NOT DENYING A WRONGDOING.
"It didn’t happen. I forgot all about it. I just moved on. I pretend like it never happened. I didn’t let it affect me." That’s not true. It’s not the denial of a wrongdoing. Forgiveness is not denying that you were sinned against.

Oritsejafor Urges Sultan Of Sokoto To Write Boko Haram To Stop Killings As He Wrote ISIS

CAN President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor And Sultan Of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar
The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, on Monday urged the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar, to write a letter to Boko Haram to stop their attacks just as he did to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Oritsejafor made the call in Abuja at a 2-day roundtable with Senior Special Assistants on Religious Affairs from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

"His Eminence said he wrote a letter to ISIS, I have to truly congratulate you for that because that was a very good move.

‘‘I didn't know about it until today and I am so glad it happened. But I want to appeal that you also write to Boko Haram because Boko Haram is worst than ISIS.

‘‘They have killed more people than ISIS, they have caused more atrocities than ISIS; they need to be written to as well, it is very important it will help.

"I have made an appeal several times that there are some of our leaders who must come together, religious, political and traditional. They must come and discuss.’’

He also enjoined religious clerics, particularly those in the ‘good book’ of the militant sect to reach out to the leadership of the sect so that the real Islam could be presented to them instead of allowing them to continue to be misrepresenting Islam.

According to him, the militant sect will not listen to him, he will have joined the clerics in preaching peace to members of the terror group and the need to practice real Islam.

‘‘I have heard and I may be wrong, one thing you will learn about me is that I'm usually not politically correct, but. I tell you the way I see it.

‘‘But I have been told that the Boko Haram, to a very large extent, are very vast in scriptures. What scriptures do they use? There are still religious clerics that they respect.

‘‘If these people are not presenting the right thing and are misrepresenting Islam, which I agree it is the case so to a very large extent, we agree that our brothers to reach them so that the real Islam can be presented to them.

‘‘They won't listen to me, in fact they will kill me faster than anything else, oh yes that is the truth and I am aware of that.’’

He frowned at the inability of stakeholders to implement resolutions of the past inter-religious meetings.

The CAN president said that greater peace and harmony would have been achieved among the various religions in the country if lip-service had not been paid to the various resolutions of such meetings.

‘‘But if we would come together, there must be sincerity, equality, fear of God and genuine love for one another.

‘‘The problem with gatherings like this is that if we are not careful it becomes an occasion for good photographs, we shake hands, we talk very nicely, we are all politically correct. We don't want to offend each other.

‘‘Please let's offend each other, we need to. Because if we don't offend each other, we will not tell each other the truth and that is part of Nigeria's problem.

"If you come out to say certain things there are those who feel you are rocking the boat but God is in the boat, the boat will not sink. Let us talk to each other, let's tell the truth to each other, let's not sweep it under the carpet.

‘‘When we finish the opening ceremony and you go into the close door session, lay all the cards in the table.’’

While querying why a church in the North in the last 30 years have not been able to get Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) for land, he said that any mosque or church should be able to get C of O anywhere in the country.

‘‘Please, permit me to say this, why should a church in the north for the last 30 years not be able to get C of O?

‘‘Any Mosque anywhere in Nigeria should be able to get a C of O. Why is it that people want to build a place of worship, they are not given a land?

"Those of you who represent these governors, I like what His Eminence said,
tell your governors some of these things and if they refused, resign.

‘‘Hopefully, people will ask why you are resigning. Because we must create a level-playing ground for everybody, we must deal with each other as equals, very important, very vital. No matter your religion, in any state you come from, if you qualified for a position you should get it.’’

In his contribution, the Sultan said people must tell their leaders the truth to promote peace and harmony in the country.

According to him, there is no problem between Christianity and Islam.

He, however, acknowledged that there were problems between Christians and Muslims in the country due to lack of education on the two religions.

‘‘If we don't tell our leaders the truth, they won't know the problems. If we hear something here and go back to do something different, then we have failed.

‘‘We must tell our leaders the right thing and not what they want to hear. Muslims and Christians at all levels must sit together and discuss and we must implement what we discuss. We must work with our Holy Scriptures.’’

According to the Sultan, he has written a letter to those pushing for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) on why their action is against Islam, stressing that those carrying out bombings in Nigeria are not doing it for God.

He warned that the bombings and attacks might not end in the North-East if the right things were not done now.(NAN)

SOMETHING HAPPEN WHEN GODS PEOPLE PRAY AND FAITHFUL

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: SOMETHING HAPPEN WHEN GODS PEOPLE PRAY AND FAITHFUL

TEXT : Acts 12:24 KJV
But the word of God grew and multiplied.

God Proved Sovereign Over The Outreach -
The early church, with good reason, worried about their survival. As they weathered the storms that came their way by seeking shelter in prayer, they saw the Lord expand their outreach in ways they never imagined. As He blessed the church and judged her enemies, God taught a watching world that He was in control of the situation. The early church learned the lesson that they were not responsible for the success of their ministry; they were merely responsible for being found faithful.

That is a lesson we need to learn today. Success cannot be measured in numbers on a board. If that is the criteria for success, then John the Baptist, and Jeremiah were dismal failures. The truth is, the success of our church does not rest on your shoulders or on mine. The success of this, or any other ministry, is all up to God. Our duty is to be found faithful to Him and to His call on our lives. As we yield to Him and look to Him in faith and by prayer make our petitions to Him, we can count on Him to do what is best, what is right, and what brings Him the most glory.

Church, we need to be able to get a hold of the Lord. We need that as individuals and we need that as a church. The only way that will ever happen is for us to come together like the early church and make seeking God our priority.

· We need to examine our hearts and be sure there is nothing in us against another brother or sister in Jesus.

· We need to seek God as a family.

· We need to call on God by faith, believing Him for all things.

· We need to look beyond our own needs and lift up those around us who are in need.

· We need to pray through our problems until we see the Lord move in power.

Something happens when God’s people pray. Let’s pray together and see what happens!

SOMETHING HAPPENS WHEN GOD'S PEOPLE PRAY

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: SOMETHING HAPPENS WHEN GOD'S PEOPLE PRAY

Text: Acts 12:1-24
....CONTINUE FROM YESTERDAY
A. It Was Fervent Prayer - We are told that that “prayer was made without ceasing...” The word “ceasing” means “to stretch forth”. It is a medical term that refers to a stretched ligament or a pulled muscle. It has the idea of “going beyond the boundaries”. When applied to prayer, it is a picture of fervency. It is the picture of people pouring out their hearts in prayer before the Lord as they seek His face for their needs.

That’s the kind of praying we need to undertake. The promise of God is that “the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous men availeth much,” James 5:16. The words “effectual fervent” refer to “energetic passionate” prayer. It is not prayer that is sluggish, lifeless, unconcerned, casual, halfhearted, blasé and apathetic; it is prayer that pours forth from a burdened heart. That kind of prayer reaches heaven and moves the hand of God.

B. It Was Faithful Prayer - By faithful praying, I mean theirs was a prayer of faith. Their prayers were made “to God”. This seems obvious, but there are times when it seems like our prayers are designed to be heard by other people, or even by us. This congregation joined their voices and reached up as one to touch God for their church and for Peter. When we pray, we must pray in faith. Faith is the essential ingredient that marks the difference between answered and unanswered prayer....CONTINUE TOMORROW

SOMETHING HAPPENS WHEN GOD'S PEOPLE PRAY

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: SOMETHING HAPPENS WHEN GOD'S PEOPLE PRAY

Acts 12:1-24
....CONTINUE FROM YESTERDAY

A. There Were Attacks - James the brother of John, one of the Lord’s inner circle, is put to death by Herod. Peter has also been imprisoned and is sitting on death row awaiting his own execution. The Jews pressed these attacks against the early church because they hated the Gospel they preached. Herod persecuted the early church because it gave him a political advantage.

B. There Was Apprehension - The church did no know what the future held. As a result, there was fear and concern for the future of the church. After all, these people had left their Jewish roots to follow the way of Jesus Christ. Perhaps they were afraid that the hatred of the Jews and the king might eventually turn away from the leaders of the church and settle on the members of the church.

C. There Was An Adversary - We are told that Herod is the one who killed James and arrested Peter. We are also told that his actions pleased the Jews. So, Herod and the Jews were responsible for the persecution, but they were merely the human instruments. The one who organized and empowered this persecution was Satan himself. He hated the church, the Gospel it preached and the Lord it worshiped. He was out to destroy the church while it was still in its infancy. In order to do that, he stirred up his forces and set them in array against the people of God.

(Note: The church still finds itself in times of trouble. The church still finds itself under attack from its enemies. We must never thing that we are immune from assaults from without and from within. As long as Satan is allowed to live in this world, he will do everything in His power to disturb and disrupt the harmony and the effectiveness of the church. He hates our message and he hates our Master. He knows that if he can turn us against one another, he can shut down our work. He knows that if he can fill us with fear over the attacks we face he can stop us from serving the Lord. He knows that if he can fill us with fear over the future, he can keep us mired in the past...... CONTINUE TOMORROW.

SOMETHING HAPPENS WHEN GOD'S PEOPLE PRAY

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: SOMETHING HAPPENS WHEN GOD'S PEOPLE PRAY

TEXT: Acts 12:1-24

Prayer is a wonderful privilege. God has opened the door to His throne room and invited His children to enter His presence with their petitions, Heb. 4:16.

He has promised to hear us when we call, Jer. 33:3. And, he has promised to answer our prayers when we pray according to His will,
1 John 5:14-15. We all know that there are many privileges and promises associated with prayer.

I want to remind us from this passage that prayer is also a very powerful endeavor.

We have all experienced the power of private prayer. We have experienced those times when we called on the Lord in the secret place of prayer and He heard us, and He answered us in power for His glory. There is something special about entering God’s presence, by yourself, to talk to Him in secret. It’s something we should all do, and should do often.

This passage reminds us that there is power in corporate prayer. There is a special dynamic that comes into play when God’s children come together, united in faith and purpose, to seek the face of the Lord in prayer

.....I WILL CONTINUE TOMORROW

Perfect Faith.

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Perfect Faith.

This is a resting faith that no longer asks God but rather trusts that He has already addressed a concern. It is built on expectation, anticipation, and joy rather than struggles and doubt.

Abraham showed perfect faith through his willingness to trust God and sacrifice Isaac (Gen. 22:1-5). Abraham told his servant to wait, saying, “I and the lad will go over there; and we will worship and return to you” (v. 5). It reveals that he trusted in God to keep His word and protect the son He had promised.

Perfect faith will not come overnight, but we can attain it when we keep our focus on God, no matter what challenges are before us.

Brethren, Is your faith a struggling one, or could you say you are at least touching the hem of the garment of great faith?
If you keep your focus on God, read His Word, and approach Him in prayer with a clean heart and a willingness to surrender your life to Him, you’ll soon be walking in perfect faith.

Great Faith.

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Great Faith.

This is maturing faith that is growing, becoming stronger, and standing on the truth of the Word of God.

1. David displayed great faith when he fought Goliath. His focus was on God, not the size of his opponent (1 Sam. 17:26).

2. The centurion who asked Jesus to heal his servant knew He was a man under authority who could do whatever God desired simply with a word (Matt. 8:5-10).

3. The Canaanite woman who pleaded with Jesus to heal her demon-possessed daughter showed persistence in prayer. Jesus tested her, saw her faith was great, and healed her child (Matt. 15:21-28).

4. A woman suffering from hemorrhages knew that touching the hem of Jesus’ garment would heal her, and her faith made her well (Matt. 9:20-22). She focused on Him, not her illness or how people might judge her.

as you go out this week lean on today's meal and place your focus on positive things, be spirit feed and believe that all shall be well, where you focus and what you believe matter to your life, you can control your day from your room on your kneels

The Stages of Faith

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: The Stages of Faith

Good morning brothers and sister, today's meal will tell you of the stage you are in faith that causes your altitude in the class of achievers.

TEXT: Matthew 8:25-26 KJV
And his disciples came to him , and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. [26] And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

A. Little Faith.
This is restless faith that says, “I think He can, but I’m not certain.” Little faith is unsure and struggles to believe.
1. While the sea raged outside, Jesus was fast asleep inside the boat. The disciples woke Him saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing!” (Matt. 8:23-27). They were focused on their circumstances rather than trusting in the Son of God who travelled with them.
2. The father who brought his epileptic son to Jesus for healing also had little faith. He cried out asking God to help with his disbelief, and his son was immediately healed (Mark 9: 17-24).

This two examples are examples of little faith, though you confess it but you don't work it, that make it little, faith is not base on confession alone but also on acting.

David face Goliath- that is acting
The 3Hebrew face kings fire- that is acting
The Israelite face Jericho wall - that is acting
Many achiever don't sit at talking level they also act what they believed.

As you go out today ACT OUT THE FAITH IN YOU say it out and you will come back with testimony. Amen

WHAT MAKE FAITH POWERLESS ....continue from yesterday

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: WHAT MAKE FAITH POWERLESS
....continue from yesterday

I started telling us what hinder our faith from working out our miracle and I will continue today. Brethren if you faith will work these are the things to avoid

E. Feelings of Guilt. Sometimes, dwelling on the past can hinder our faith. Instead of asking God for forgiveness and moving on, many people remain trapped in previous failures.

F. Neglecting the Word of God.
The Bible is the fuel of our faith, and if we do not read it, we cannot begin to see how the Father enables His people and that He will do the same for us.

G. Continuing in Sin.
God will not use us for His purposes if we are living in sin. It short-circuits our faith in all ways.

H. Satan’s Tactics.
The devil wants us to doubt God and to divide our allegiance. He is like an undertow that slowly pulls us away from the Father.

Try to avoid all this as you exercise your faith and with God on your side, miracle must happen.
Beloved, there are things that has been settled in heaven which faith has to activate on earth before we can celebrate as we receive answer to prayers. So all depend on faith, as you go out to day, exercise faith

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME, GIVE US THE RIGHT FAITH THAT MOVE YOUR HAND TO WORK IN OUR LIFE.

WHAT MAKE FAITH POWERLESS

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: WHAT MAKE FAITH POWERLESS

Hebrews 11:1-3, 6

Every single aspect of our lives is affected by our faith. It is the single most important thing Jesus Christ sought to teach His disciples, and He was disappointed when they did not display it (Mark 16:14). We grow in faith through trials; however, we will likely struggle with our faith as we endure the process.

Faith Encounters Many Obstacles

A. Human Reason.
God may say things to us that seem unreasonable, and we miss out on some of His blessings because we fail to do what we are asked when it doesn’t fit our expectations.

B. Living by Sight.
Oftentimes, we don’t trust God and seek to live by sight rather than by faith.

C. Surrendering to Our Feelings.
When we’re challenged, we often feel like we can’t do something. This is a great hindrance to our faith.

D. Negative Counsel.
If God challenges you to do something, asking others for advice is a mistake. People’s opinions should never outweigh God’s, and He would never ask you to do something without empowering you.

MAKE ME CLOSER TO GOD.

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: MAKE ME CLOSER TO GOD.

Repentance and faith are two sides of the same coin.
Many familiar verses on salvation refer to faith, because unbelief is the primary sin that separates men from God (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8; Rom. 10:13).
The New Testament Greek term for "believe" is an action word.

Salvation requires more than mere intellectual assent to Jesus' existence.
Trusting Christ as your Savior gives you a new beginning (2 Cor. 5:17).
Moving closer to God or knowing God require repentance, and
Repentance isn't "trying harder." Apart from the mercy and grace of the Lord, you can't truly "clean up" your life
Receiving Christ as your personal Savior includes acknowledging your sinfulness before God, there is this important things to do, and that is to surrender all to God.
Surrender is the key to genuine repentance. Ask yourself, have you surrender all... Yes all?

Confession means we agree with God that our sin is wrong. Without surrender, there will be no repentant spirit, and the person is likely to commit the sin again.
The Lord forgives our wrongdoing if we confess it (Proverbs 28:13; 1 John 1:9).
We must be willing to walk away from what God says is sin. By continuing in rebellion or settling for second best, we're saying we don't really trust Him.

Conclusion: Through confessing in a spirit of repentance, we can be freed from the power of sin. Sincerely surrender your life to the Lord, and He will conform you into the image of Christ. You'll be free to experience His best!

Shekau Is Truly Alive; Seen preaching openly [Photo evidence]

Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau has started coming out openly, on Nigeria's soil, with impunity. A new Boko Haram video obtained by AFP showed the terrorist commander and his boys on an armoured vehicle parading down a road in one of the captured town they apparently control.

Abubakar Shekau is seen openly preaching to the residents.

Boko Haram had already renamed Gwoza town in Borno as Darul Hikma or House of Wisdom and Mubi in Adamawa as Madinatul Islam which means City of Islam.

The video, which was delivered through the same channels as past messages, shows armed men lined along a well-paved road, with three pick-up trucks, with heavy weapons also visible.

Black crested flags associated with the Islamist group are also shown.

In the video, Shekau restated a call he first made in August, saying, “We have indeed established an Islamic caliphate. To everyone living in Islamic Caliphate, we convey our greetings,” he said, specifically mentioning “brethren” in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Shishan (an Islamist term for Chechnya), Yemen, Somalia and “The caliphate in Iraq and Syria.”

How Chadian President fooled Nigeria on phantom Boko Haram ceasefire
According to The Cable, it was gathered on Sunday how the Federal Government was taken for a ride by the president of Chad, Idriss Deby over the phantom ceasefire deal with Boko Haram

A source, who was involved in the negotiations told the online news medium that Federal Government was still uncertain if the dummy was deliberately sold to Nigeria by Déby or if the Chadian president himself was hoodwinked into believing it was genuine.

Déby was said to be working for Boko Haram as he has refused to communicate with Nigeria since the insurgents renewed their attacks.

“Nigerian government officials no longer have access to Déby, who is now said to be sick. It appears he set us up to drop our guard and allow Boko Haram to gain ground,” the official said.

The Cable also reported how Déby put the deal together, revealing how he said Boko Haram got in touch with him, how he authenticated the message and how he got the Nigerian government involved in the negotiations.

A journalist with links to the group had however described the claim as “shadows and bubbles” and warned Nigerians not to believe it.

Not long after that, Boko Haram became more ferocious in their attacks, taking over more Nigerian towns, including the home of Nigeria's Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh.

This satellite image shows inclement weather over Freeport on Sunday.

A police on source on the island previously said two were feared dead. However, police sources later confirmed that all those on board had been killed.

The police source also said it was believed the group was heading to a conference hosted by Pastor Munroe.

The identities of the other people on board have not yet been confirmed.

The statement said while the department was advised of fatalities, it was awaiting confirmation from police on if there were any survivors.

#The Grand Bahama Airport Company Crash Fire Rescue Department responded to the incident, and the Police and Bahamas Air Sea Rescue (BASRA) are presently on the scene.

GOD IS CALLING YOU TO REPENTANCE

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: GOD IS CALLING YOU TO REPENTANCE

I. Introduction: Two types of people need to repent: a) those professing to be Christian but whose lifestyle don't reflect that change, and b) believers who commit the same sin repeatedly.
Scripture: Luke 24:45-49
II. Message

A. Repentance is essential. The following biblical figures stress its importance:

John the Baptist and Jesus (Matt. 3:1-2; Matt. 4:17; Luke 5:32; Luke 24:47)
The apostle Paul (Romans 2:4; Acts 17:30)
Peter (2 Peter 3:9)
B. Repentance is heartfelt sorrow for sin, along with a commitment to walk in obedience.

This is more than sorrow for being caught or misery due to the consequences of disobedience. For example, the Prodigal Son not only comes to his senses; he also leaves the hog pen (Luke 15:11-15).
Salvation is an internal change that results in external action (Matt. 7:16,20). The Great Commission says, "Make disciples of all the nations…teaching them to observe all that I commanded you" (Matt. 28:19-20).

I want to ask you this morning, have you do that, I know you have repent but have you totally leave the sinful habit?
The lord is calling you this morning to leave it totally and he will forgive you in Jesus name. Amen

DON'T MISS YOUR HEAVENLY REWARD.

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: DON'T MISS YOUR HEAVENLY REWARD.
.....continue from yesterday

Heavenly Rewards
2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”

A. Eternal

B. Matthew 6:19 “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

C. Crowns

1. The Christians' reward is sometimes mentioned as a "prize" (I Corinthian 9:24), and sometimes as a "crown" (I Corinthians 9:25).

2. Five Crowns may be won:

(1) Incorruptible crown -
for those who discipline the body, as an athlete to achieve great things for God. I Corinthians 9:25-27. Are you one of those that will receive this for discipline your body or you have corrupt your body because of worldly things?

(2) crow of Rejoicing -
for those who win people to Christ. I Thessalonians 2:19,20. How many people have you won for the lord, remember God will reward you, some christian cause other little christian to backslide instead of win more to the fold. God will judge Us all.

(3) crow of Life - for those who love Christ enough to endure temptation. James 1:12; Revelation 2:10. A lot of Christian do not recognise temptations as what they should endure again they call it problem and war, it is better we wake up and pray for divine strength to overcome it.

(4) crow of Righteousness - for those who love Christ's second coming. II Timothy 4:8. As the world goes by, how many of us are expecting Jesus return again, even many christian are denying the fact that Jesus is coming again. Please be ready and be expectant.

(5) crow of Glory -
for pastors and teachers who faithfully feed the flock of God. I Peter 5:2-4. Brethren a lots of pastor and teachers are in our churches but are they faithful and they doing it according to Gods will. Remember there is a reward.
.....I will continue tomorrow

Enough Is Enough; Pastor Oritsejafor Warns Boko Haram

Angered by the continuous killing of Christians in the North-eastern part of the country and the dare-devil attacks by Boko Haram, President of Christians Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, has exploded, warning the heartless terrorists that enough is enough.

Oritsejafor, who spoke extensively on Wednesday in Abuja during the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of CAN, said “territories that have fallen under the control of Boko Haram are predominantly populated by Christians, a sign that Christians are no longer safe in those parts of the country.

The CAN President re-echoed his earlier stance that Boko Haram is waging a religious war against Christians, saying that the carnage in the North-east is unacceptable.
Oritsejafor said, “What is happening there is unacceptable to us. Christians are the main victims. We are not saying that other people are not affected. But Christians are the ones affected more. All the places where Boko Haram has foisted their flags are dominated by Christians.
“They have taken over Mubi in Adamawa state which is dominated by Christians. Somebody will now tell me this is not religion. Who is fooling who? Nigerians should accept that we have a problem.”

Calling on Nigerians to pray to God to put an end to the mindless killings, Oritsejafor said he will not join other Nigerians who have created names for themselves, by constantly criticising the military, however called on the leadership of the military to fish out saboteurs in their midst, if the war against terrorism must be won.

He said, “All well meaning Nigerians must pray and continue to pray. We must pray. I will not join those condemning our security agencies. They are Nigerians. Women are losing their husbands and children are losing their fathers. I want to challenge the military. They can do better. They must continue to fish out those sabotaging their efforts. Those people should be expelled. They are in all the security agencies.

“No matter the intention you have, if you have people working against you, you will not succeed. There are too many people in the system working against the system. Why should these kind of things be happening? Innocent people are being killed. It is too much. Enough is enough!

Advising the federal government, stakeholders and other critical stakeholders to adopt another approach in bringing an end to activities of Boko Haram, Oritsejafor warned that the use of force alone would not end the insurgency.

Oritsejafor said,” Even though I have said the military must continue to work harder, guns and bullets alone will not save this problem. Boko Haram is an ideology. Let us not run away from it. You do not defeat an ideology with guns and bullets. You defeat an ideology with a superior ideology. Boko Haram will not listen to me.

“I want to make an appeal to our Muslim clerics and Muslim political leaders to come together and see how they can help us solve this problem. They have the solution. There are some muslim scholars Boko Haram members respect. To a large extent, that is the only way out.

“As members of CAN, we are ready to meet with them. I believe in progressive dialogue. This is my strong appeal. I want to appeal to those at the grass root. This connects to the leaders. The leaders should talk to those at the grass roots. They should give reliable intelligence to our security agents. Please, do not harbour these people. They are not fighting for you. Expose them.

“I know we have some members of the press here. I hope they will pass the message. We want a better Nigeria, where everyone is equal and respects the constitution. In fact, we want one constitution where everyone will follow. Those saying Boko Haram is not religious are deceiving themselves.

“We want a Nigeria where everyone is safe. We want a Nigerian where a man is not judged by his religion. That is the Nigeria we all want. If we want one united Nigeria, we must all pay the price for it.”

Speaking on the forthcoming general elections, Pastor Oritsejafor urged Christians to “Go and get your voters’ cards. I want to appeal to INEC to double up. Our people must register and have their voters’ cards. I hope INEC is not doing something deliberate here in order to prevent Christians from voting. I hope Professor Attahiru Jega can hear me. We must all vote and vote wisely.”

Great Is Thy Reward!

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Great Is Thy Reward!

Text: Matthew 5:12 “Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”

This is a great Bible truth.

God will someday reward His people for their faithfulness,
for their service,
for their suffering,
for their soul winning,
and for their loving the appearing of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. my question is are you one of them that God will reward?

Some people may ask “Are there differences in rewards in Heaven?

Will some enjoy Heaven more than others?

Oh Yes! Some will enjoy Heaven more than others.

Then the question comes, “Will some suffer more in Hell than others?

Oh Yes!

Heaven is not our Reward!

Example: He has gone to his reward.

Heaven is God’s Gift by Grace. You can’t earn it.

Ephesians 2:8,9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
........I WILL CONTINUE TOMORROW....but before I stop today Meditate on this verse:
Hebrews 2:1-3 KJV
Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. [2] For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; [3] How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him ;

BREAKING: Boko Haram renames Mubi, sets up strategic check-points

Militant Islamist sect, Boko Haram, has renamed Mubi as ‘Madinatul Islam,” meaning the city of Islam.

The action is further confirmation that the sect was in total control of the town which it recaptured last week after troops stationed there withdrew. Boko Haram had earlier hoisted its flag in some parts of the town, including the Palace of the Emir, which serves as its administration headquarters.

On Monday, the sect announced the introduction of Sharia and the amputation of 10 people in the town, the second largest in the state, Punch has stated.

A trapped resident, Aliyu Bala, who disclosed the renaming of Mubi on Tuesday, also said that the sect had set up check-points in strategic parts of the community.

“They are keeping vigil in every nook and cranny of the town and calling on residents who ran away to come back to their homes. They are also asking those in communities in the four Local Government Areas which they captured to return because their safety will be assured,” Bala added.

He said that despite the assurance that they would be better protected under an Islamic Caliphate, some residents of Mubi, who stayed back when the insurgents stormed the town, were sneaking out.

A lawyer, Sunday Wugira, who went to Maiha to pick up his aged parents who fled to the village when Mubi was captured, also confirmed that many trapped residents were secretly fleeing.

He said, ‘‘I was in Maiha a few hours ago, the plight of the people I saw was simply beyond imagination. We were in a commercial bus when some fleeing soldiers said we must adjust for them to get space in the bus.”

Salisu Baba, a resident of Uba, one of the captured communities, said the insurgents also warned politicians not to hold any election in the state.

“The insurgents don’t want any election. They have restated their vow to capture the whole state in no distant time,” he added.

Baba said the insurgents assured residents of free movement anytime of the day and the use of their motorcycles.

He said, “The insurgents have assured people of total freedom and have been telling shop owners to open their shops threatening that anyone who fails to open his shop will have the shop broken.

“Whenever the insurgents want any commodity, they pay for it. This encouraged meat and tea sellers and others to open for business.

“They provided security during the market day in Uba last Thursday while promising to continue to give marketers and residents who come to the area utmost security as long as they complied with Islamic rules.

“They also opened one of the filling stations belonging to A.A Garba in Uba as motorists’ trooped out to buy petrol.”

Meanwhile, the state government has banned the use of motorcycles in seven LGAs as part of measures to contain the security situation in state.

A statement by Phineas Elisha, the director of Press and Public Affairs to Governor Bala Ngilari, urged the public and security operatives to ensure compliance.

The affected LGAs are Hong, Gombi, Song, Girei, Numan, Demsa and Fufore.

In Nafada LGA of Gombe State, gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members on Tuesday killed 10 people.

It was learnt that they had earlier killed an unspecified number of soldiers on duty at the checkpoint in Nafada.

A resident of the area told journalists on the telephone that the attackers stormed the town around 11am in four Hilux vans and motorcycles, wielding guns and shooting sporadically into the air.He said they immediately set the Police station and the Local Government secretariat ablaze.

“The gunmen then went to the house of an Islamic cleric named Adamu Misira and opened fire on him and nine other people that were there with him, ” the resident who did not want his name in print said.

When contacted, the state Police Commissioner, Kudu Nma, said he had yet to hear of the incident.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, on Tuesday said that Nigeria was not helpless despite the continued onslaught by Boko Haram.

He spoke with State House correspondents when he led service chiefs to the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Journalists had asked Badeh to react to the loss of his hometown in Adamawa State to members of the sect and the burning of his house.

Badeh, who had earlier declined comment however changed his mind when he was asked if the nation was helpless in the face of the renewed onslaught.

The security chief said he was pained by any town lost to the sect irrespective of whether it is his hometown or not.

He also said he carried the weight of the sect whenever any house is burnt regardless of whether the house belonged to him or other Nigerians.

Badeh said, “How can Nigeria be helpless? That is unfair. If CDS loses his hometown, it is the same thing as losing Lagos. Any part of Nigeria that is lost, the CDS carries the weight.

“It is immaterial whether it is my hometown, whether it is my house that is burnt or it is Emeka’s house that is burnt. Whoever’s house is burnt in Nigeria, the CDS is pained.”

He however did not reply when he was asked to respond to the various calls for his removal.

He quickly rushed into his car amidst the confusion caused by his orderly who engaged journalists in altercation while trying to keep them away.

WE MUST HATE THE SAME THINGS GOD HATES.

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: WE MUST HATE THE SAME THINGS GOD HATES.

A. God Hates (abhor, loathe) Sin – Psa. 45:6-7 (Heb. 1:9); Prov. 6:16-19; Mal. 2:16; Rev. 2:6.

1. Therefore, we must:
a. Love God / hate evil – Psa. 97:10; Amos 5:15; Rom. 12:9.

b. Reject evil in our life – Psa. 101:3.

c. Esteem God’s law – Psa. 119:104, 128, 163.

2. Imitate God’s character toward sin!

B. A Sense in Which God Hates (has no pleasure in) the Sinner.

1. Psa. 5:4-5 – Due to his sin, he will not abide in presence / no fellowship.

2. Psa. 11:4-5 – Puts them under His wrath.

3. Similarly, we must:

a. Not sit with the wicked – Psa. 26:4-5 (Psa. 1:1).

b. Trust God, not liars – Psa. 31:6.

4. Psa. 139:21-22 – Grieved…Perfect hatred.

C. There is a Time to Hate! – Eccl. 3:8

1. Abhor sin & refuse the counsel / influence of sinners.

2. Prov. 8:13 – Shows our fear of God. (3:7 – Depart from evil.)

This is how to please God and to do his will, to try and hate what he (God) hate and love what he love,
The lord loves you and he wanted you to do his will. As you read your Bible don't just search for prayers and psalms in the Bible but seek for Gods help and will for your life.

Tunde Bakare Kumuyi's Preaching Made Me Leave Deeper Life Church

Pastor Bakare said he was with the ministry for five years and left due to clash of religious views

Founder of Latter Rain Assembly, Tunde Bakare in an interview with City People magazine, revealed that he was once a pastor of the popular Deeper Life Bible Church founded by Pastor W.A. Kumuyi.

Pastor Bakare told the magazine he was with the ministry for five years and left due to clash of religious views. He later joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God before he set up his own ministry which has grown over the years.

Read excerpts from the Interview:

You were in Deeper Life and The Redeemed churches. At what point did you decide to start up your own ministry?

That’s what you call memory lane. I was in Deeper Life for five years, between 1978 and December 1983. Brother Kumuyi was and is still a great teacher of the Word. The person that put the fear of God in me was Brother Kumuyi. He laid the foundation for systematic teaching that many people see me do today. However, I rose through the ranks. I preached while I was there and conducted youth meetings. I was doing some legal works for the ministry also. I registered some of their companies. But one day while I was ministering and a brother was interpreting, I was giving example of the “faith cometh by hearing and hearing the word of God” and I said, ‘Supposing you go to a supermarket to buy soap, you might not know what soap to buy but because you watched the advertisement of Joy soap on television, then you would look for Joy soap because you have been hearing about it.’

And my interpreter said: “If you have been watching the devil’s box … “ I told him I didn’t say devil’s box but television, and he repeated saying the devil’s box and Brother Kumuyi was behind us. I said I didn’t say devil’s box and that the normal interpretation is amu ohun mu aworan, (the box that captures both the voice and the visuals). Anyway, he still said what he said. The following Sunday, Brother Kumuyi came up with what he called “Sunday Exaltation”; he said that even if you repair television, you are a child of the devil. Then I took my Bible and left. I went home and said I would serve my God, but was not interested anymore in church.

So I returned to Surulere Baptist Church. And one day, my photographer came to me and said I should not just sit like that and that I should come and join his church because I would enjoy it. I asked, ‘What is the name of your church’ and he said The Redeemed Christian Church of God. I said okay and that I would come one day since I was not interested at that moment. The first Sunday of March, 1984, I invited my wife and said we should go (we were not married then). I borrowed a car because I had no car then. We drove to that church and I discovered I had been to that church before. That was the place Deeper Life was doing their Bible study in 1978. Then there was this gentleman who walked up, they called him G.O. He is still G.O. today, but they call him Daddy G.O. He was the one who preached that day and the message was titled: “The Mercy of God.” I said this seems better than the background of what seems I was coming from, because, in fairness to Brother Kumuyi, he himself eventually went on television. He must have changed his mind, because that time he was very hard on such things. By the way, looking back today, there is a lot of evil on television. It is not the television that is the devil’s box, it is the programmes that people put on it. So you can choose what you watch.

Confidence In The Performance Of The Lord –

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Confidence In The Performance Of The Lord –

TEXT: Psalm 27:2-3 KJV
When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. [3] Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

David declares that his present hope in the Lord rests upon that which the Lord has done for him in the past. God did not fail him then, and He will not fail His child today.

That same confidence is ours today! The God we serve is unchangeable, Mal. 3:6; Heb. 13:8. He is the same God with the same power that He has always been. He has never, and He will never change. Because He has been faithful in the past, we can count on His being faithful now.

Think of all the things He has done; the victories He has won; the enemies He has vanquished; the mountains He has moved; the victories He has won. Think on these things and remember that the God who performed countless wonders in the past is still that same God today! That should give His people hope!)
All you need is to believe in the lord and see what he has done for you in the past and believe him to do more than that.

FATHER BUILD IN ME A CONFIDENCE THAT OVER COME PROBLEM

Female Members sent away from Church for indecent dressing

When will some ladies learn? Recently, worshippers at St Francis Catholic Church got the shock of their lives when some of them were turned away at the gate for indecent dressing.

One of them, dressed in a black sleeveless dress, a tiny yellow belt and heels, Julia, a regular worshipper, in her mid-20s was surprised by the new rule in church that saw her miss the 8.30 mass.

Complaining bitterly about the new rules in her church, Julia said, “Two people, a woman and a man told me that my type of clothes were banned from church and I should change into a proper attire.”

Julia, who wrote on her Facebook page, expressed displeasure at the manner in which she was turned away. She claimed some other ladies wear mini skirts and spaghetti tops in big churches in the city.

“If churches treat people this way, we will shy away from church,” she lamented.

“I am surprised I was not turned away at Likoni Church [that same day]. I think I will start going there,” she told The Nairobian.

The church is however insisting that immorality in the area of dressing is no longer permitted.

OUR CONFIDENCE IN THE LORD PROVIDES HOPE

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: OUR CONFIDENCE IN THE LORD PROVIDES HOPE

Text: 27:1-6

David begins his psalm of hope by declaring his personal faith in the Lord. Notice the three-fold use of the word “my” in verse 1. David has a personal relationship with God. This is the basic foundation for hope.)

A. v. 1 Confidence In The Person Of The Lord – David tells us that God is his “light”, his “salvation” and his “strength.” There is a tremendous blessing in these three titles attributed to our God.

1. As Light,
God delivers His people from Darkness – “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:,” Colossians 1:13. As Light God guides our Steps – (Psa. 37:23; John 16:13; Psa. 119:105)

2. As Salvation
God delivers His people from Damnation – “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life,” John 5:24. As Salvation God secures our Souls – (John 10:28; 1 Pet. 1:5; John 6:37)

3. As Strength
God delivers His people from Defeat – “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ,” 1 Cor. 15:57. As Strength God guarantees our Success – (Rom. 8:37; 2 Cor. 2:14; Isa. 54:17)

Do you have hope in the lord, do you believe that there is till time for your salvation, miracle and deliverance. Am assuring you that if you have Jesus there is hope for your situation. All you need to do is to put all your trust in him. Amen.
