RESPECT

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: RESPECT

Treat others the way you want to be treated.

Text 1 Thessalonians 5:11 KJV
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

Colossians 4:6 KJV
Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

We start teaching our children from a young age to treat others as they would want to be treated, to speak as they would want to be spoken to, and to share as they would want to be shared with. However, as adults, we sometimes forget this basic instruction. If we ask ourselves, "Do I follow the teachings of my childhood?" most people in the world would probably answer, "No, I don't." As children of God, what is our answer?

We know what it should be. In Matthew 7:12, Christ exhorts us to follow this principle of respect: "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets."

We all want to be treated with respect. Everyone desires to be treated as someone of value or worth. To be respected is a great human need. Therefore, we need to ask ourselves, "Do we always extend to others the same level of respect that we desire for ourselves?"

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME. DESTROY EVERY SPIRIT OF PROUD IN US AND CLOTH US WITH RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER.

The wise counsel of the tongue

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC The wise counsel of the tongue

Proverbs 10:31 says, “The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom.” Proverbs 15:7 says, “The lips of the wise spread knowledge.” What comes out of a righteous man? Wisdom. What comes out of a wise man? Knowledge. These two things ought to be coming out of your mouth all the time.

I have a few friends in my life. Every time they speak, they speak wisdom and knowledge. Some of them are people I have known for 5 or 10 years. Some of them are people I don’t talk to very often. Some of them are people I may not talk to except once every five years.
But because they are people of wisdom and knowledge, I know that if I have not talked to them for ten years, I can go back to them and say, “What do you think about this?” And even though he hasn’t seen or heard from me for ten years, because his lips speak wisdom and knowledge, he can say, “I don’t think you should do this; I don’t think you should do that; have you thought about this?” Invariably when I talk to people like that, my life is enriched because the lips of the righteous bring forth wisdom and knowledge.

Blessed are you if you have a few people in your life who can speak wisdom and knowledge to you. And blessed are you doubly if you have the ability to speak wisdom and knowledge to other people.
Be wise

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD JESUS CHRIST, SPEAK YOUR GOOD COUNSEL INTO OUR LIFE AND MAKE US GREAT IN JESUS NAME

Taming the Tongue

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC Taming the Tongue

Colossians 4:6 KJV
Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Colossians 4:2-6; James 3:1-2

Words are a powerful thing. They give us the power to heal and the power to hurt. The power to give hope and the power to discourage. The power to build up and the power to tear down. There is no marriage, family, or friendship that isn’t either made stronger or made weaker by how you choose and use your words.

Yet controlling what we say from moment to moment is perhaps the most daunting challenge of Christian living. It’s the closest most of us will ever come to trying to tame a wild beast.

So how can you avoid the angry outbursts, cutting remarks, and unguarded responses that lead only to damage, embarrassment, and regret? And what kind of new habits of speech should replace the old?

In teaming tongue you need to know the following
1. how to follow God’s plan for managing the words you speak in any given situation.

2. You’ll learn how to pray,

3. proclaim the gospel, and edify others.

4. You’ll also discover that managing your words is the key to controlling your spiritual life.

Watch out as you relate today, be careful of the word you speaks

LET US PRAY
LORD JESUS CHRIST, DELIVERS US FROM THE EVIL OUR TONGUE HAS CAUSED US IN JESUS NAME

THE POWER OF TONGUE

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: THE POWER OF TONGUE

Text: James 3:1-12

Introduction
When you see the doctor one of the things he will check is the tongue. He can diagnose the illness only by looking at the tongue. (Mt 12:34).

How we speak reveals a lot about us – the country where we live, our job our values our purpose of life…What does your tongue tells about you?

The Tongue has power to do 3 things:

I. The power to control - v. 3-4
Our tongue has the power to control us

Characteristics of good teacher:
Good teachers control their tongue and is the one who has living faith
Who controls his tongue is a perfect men.

Perfect means mature
Proverbs 15:4
control of tongue represents a controlled life.
(Truth - tongue is a manifestation of what's inside)
3:2, Mat 15:18-19

Example of small things that control & have an effect.
1. Bridle - makes a horse obey. 3:3

2. Rudder - overrides power of something else. 3:4

3. Spark - destroys huge quantities of resources. 3:5
Practical advice on controlling tongue.

II. The power to destroy – v. 5-8
“It corupts the whole person” – such a power has the tongue says James.
It is compared with the fire. Fire has an emense power and can be used for good to hit or missused and than it distroys homes, forests cities. It is enought just a small match to produce a big fire. This fire that destroy in our life is sin.

James says that the tongue is the very world of iniquity. There are many sins that man co not do simply because has no oportunity. There is no limit of sins that can be comited by tongue like:
Malice, greed, anger, lust, hurt, lies wrath, resentment, criticizingjealousy, bitterness--all these vices somehow find their expression through it. Proverbs 16:17, 26:20

James is saying that if you want to deal with the tongue you must start with the heart. The Lord has to control the inner man. Only fresh sources can produce fresh water, and that corresponds to the life of Jesus Christ within us.

If we want our tongues to be right, then the inner man must be under the control of Jesus Christ. He has to be Lord. Jesus said, "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." Whatever fills our heart inevitably comes out

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME. REBUILD EVERY GOOD THING TONGUE HAS DESTROY IN US IN JESUS NAME

LOVE IS VULNERABLE

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC : LOVE IS VULNERABLE

Text: 2 Corinthians 8:8 KJV
I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.

Love is vulnerable to the other
In other words, love opens up its life to another person. It goes beyond sentimental feelings. It breaks down barriers. It exposes the heart.

Think about Jesus. He left the glory of heaven to come to earth. He veiled His divinity and took on humanity. And what did it get him? "He came to His own, and His own people did not receive Him" (John 1:11).

Can you imagine being away on a business trip for a week, coming home, and your family not recognizing you? That's similar to what Jesus experienced when he came to earth. Surely that must have hurt. Then, as Jesus hung on the cross, dying for these people that he loved, they hurled abuses, scorn, and ridicule. His heart was broken. And yet, He forgave them.

Christian love is the most costly investment you will ever make. C. S. Lewis, in The Four Loves, describes the vulnerable nature of love.

"To love is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken.

If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries. Avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness.
But in that casket - safe, dark, motionless, airless - it will change. It will not be broken. Instead, it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.

Friends, love is important is our life, we can't do without it, demonstrate it in your daily lives and let others know you possess with the love of God.

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME. LET YOUR LOVING HAND OF POWER SOLVE OUR BROKEN HEART IN JESUS NAME.

Demonstrating the virtue of love

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Demonstrating the virtue of love

Text: 1 John 4:21 KJV
And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

How do we demonstrate the distinctiveness of Christian love?
Because virtue is moral action we practice, How can we practice the glorious virtue of love?

A. Love values the other person
Let's not confuse Christian love with its modern counterfeits - lust, sentimentality, and gratification. While love is a wonderful, warm feeling, it is not only a feeling. In fact, according to the Bible, love is primarily an active interest in the well-being of another person.

Love acts for the benefit of others. According to William Barclay love "is the spirit in the heart that will never seek anything but the highest good of its fellow man."

God loved us not because we had something to offer him, but rather because He had something to offer us. "For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

God loved us so that He could demonstrate His mercy to us in the person of His Son.

Everyone around us is of incredible value to God as a potential object of His mercy. His one and only Son died in their place. Because people matter so much to him, they ought to matter to us. And, we, therefore, need to love them as he loves them.

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD JESUS CHRIST, HELP US TO LOVE OUR NEIGHBOUR AND SEE THEIR PROGRESS IN JESUS NAME.

Embody the distinguishing nature of love

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Embody the distinguishing nature of love

When we demonstrate Christian love, it distinguishes believers from the rest of the world.

Jesus goes on to say, "By this [love] all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another" (John 13:35).

Notice Jesus did not say that people will know that you are my disciples if you promote my agenda, or wear Christian T-shirts or a WWJD bracelet, or have a fish decal on your car, but rather if you love one another.
A watching world will be persuaded not when our values are promoted but when they are incarnated, when we become purveyors of love. It is as though Jesus has given the entire world the right to judge whether or not one is His follower simply on the basis of their love for fellow human beings.

The vivacious virtue of love distinguishes the Christian.
From the very beginning, God's plan was to develop a people that reflected his character. And what is his character? Love. "God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. In this, love is perfected with us so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; for we are as He is in this world" (1 John 4:16-17).

Believers are God's advertisement to a watching society as to how individuals could best live in that society. In fact, Christian love will always be the best apologetic that the church has.

When Ira Gillett, missionary to East Africa, returned home to report on his activities overseas, he related an interesting phenomenon. Repeatedly, Gillett had noticed how groups of Africans would walk past government hospitals and travel many extra miles to receive medical treatment at the missionary compound. He finally asked a particular group why they walked the extra distance when the same treatments were available at the government clinics. The reply: "The medicines may be the same but the hands are different...."hunm touching"
That's the virtue of love incarnated.

That kind of love makes a difference. Christ has no hands, but our hands; no feet, but our feet. We are his ambassadors, representing him to the world. And when we love as he as loved us, it will make the difference. People will notice. Christian love is indispensable.

I challenge you and me today to extend this love of Christ to everyone around us as we go out today, I love you.

LET US PRAY
DEAR LOVING FATHER, HELP US TO BE IN TRUE LOVE WITH ALL AND WIN OTHERS THROUGH OUR LOVE IN JESUS NAME. AMEN

Understanding the importance of love

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Understanding the importance of love

When Jesus speak to the disciples regarding the first and second greatest commands, he explained that "All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands" (Matt. 22:40).

To the people of Israel, as well as for many believers today, it would seem more logical for obedience to be the peg from which the Law hangs, since the point of writing a law is adherence to it.

And it is written, "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments" (John 14:15). Yet Jesus also said, "I give you a new commandment: love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another" (John 13:34).

The apostle Paul goes on to tell us "Love does no wrong to a neighbor. Love, therefore, is the fulfillment of the law" (Rom. 13:10).

This may sound irrelevant to our generation that depends on police departments, guns, and force to uphold and fulfill the law. Yet Jesus' simple command requires greater strength than any of us naturally possess - more powerful than any man-made weapon.

The logic of Paul's interpretation of Jesus' command that love fulfills the Law seems equally simple. For if one loves his neighbor, he will not commit adultery with his neighbor's spouse. If he loves his coworker, he will not lie to him. And if loves his enemy, he will not slander him.

Love fulfills the law, because if we truly love every person because he is a person, we will not desire to hurt or violate him or her, thus never break the law. God established love as the impetus for obedience.

Today as you go out, demonstrate the true love of God and preach love. I love you.

LET US PRAY
DEAR LOVING FATHER JESUS CHRIST, TEACH US TO LOVE AND OBEY YOUR COMMANDMENT IN JESUS NAME.

Make love a priority

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Make love a priority

TEXT: 1 John 4:20 KJV
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

Indeed loving people is difficult. Yet this is what the Bible commands. "For this is the message you have heard from the beginning: we should love one another" (1 John 3:11).

We spend time on what we deem important. For many of us these choices are valid: time with family and friends, work, prayer, serving the poor, fighting for rights, protesting wrongs.

But as the Scripture reminds us, "And if I donate all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body in order to boast but do not have love, I gain nothing" (1 Cor. 13:3).

Even though we have the freedom to set our own priorities,
Jesus made a point of defining certain ones of them for us: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and most important commandment.
The second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself'" (Matt. 22:37-39). Love, then, is not a gray area the Scriptures.

Jesus gave love priority over all other Christian virtues. Every thought, response, and act of goodwill must first pass through the fine filter of love, or it means nothing at all.

In "Strength to Love", Martin Luther King, Jr., encouraged us to realize that "our responsibility as Christians is to discover the meaning of this command and seek passionately to live it out in our daily lives."

If we can allow true love there won't be atrocity and fighting, there won't be religious brutality and killing of innocent in the name of politics, the change can begin from me and you. Let make love priority.

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD JESUS LET YOUR LOVE OVERCOME HATRED IN OUR LIVES IN JESUS NAME.

SHOWING LOVE AND RESPECT TO OTHERS

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: SHOWING LOVE AND RESPECT TO OTHERS

TEXT: John 13:14-17 KJV
If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. [15] For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. [16] Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. [17] If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

The Bible says we are to love one another.
Sounds good, but can we do it?

I agree with the guy who said, "To live above with those we love, oh, how that will be glory. To live below with those we know, now that's another story.

Even people at church can be difficult to love. Sometimes we sing a chorus in church: "I'm so glad you're a part of the family of God," and then we look at the person beside us and sing, "I'm surprised you're part of the family of God."

Sometimes it's hard enough to love our own family. One man told his wife that if she had really loved him she would have married someone else.

How do we make love a dominating characteristic of our lives?
This is a very important question since it is the commandment of God for us to love and respect each other,

2 John 1:5 KJV
And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.

I will continue next week if Jesus tarries. Till then, stay in the true love of God

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD JESUS, LET YOUR LOVE BIND US TOGETHER IN PEACE AND REMOVE HATRED FROM OUR HEART IN JESUS NAME.

Salvation in the LORD Jesus Christ!

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

Topic: Salvation in the LORD Jesus Christ!

When Paul and Silas were thrown in prison in Philippi, an earthquake freed them, and they rescued the jailer from taking his own life, the jailer asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
They answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household,” they replied. (Acts 16:22-31).

Paul taught: If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).

And, “For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:12-13).

When summing up his ministry to the Ephesian elders, Paul said, “I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus” (Acts 20:21).

Paul taught the verses at Ephesians 2:8-10. Combining it with the summary of his teaching at Acts 20:21 we get a more complete statement: “For by grace are you saved, through faith [in our Lord Jesus] . . . .

Paul said, “For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living” (Romans 14:9).

LET US PRAY
IN JESUS NAME, LORD JESUS LET YOUR SAVING POWER TOUCH MY LIFE FOR TRANSFORMATION.

JESUS IS LORD

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

Topic: JESUS IS LORD

Text: saiah 43:10,11 - “You are My witnesses,” says the Lord, “And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me. I, even I, am the Lord, and besides Me there is no Savior.”
Revelation 1:17-18; Revelation 2:8 - (Jesus is the First and the Last)

(A) Did God Authenticate Jesus as Lord?

Beginning with his birth, God began to authenticate Jesus as Lord and Christ.
Authentication is a legal term for proving something to be what it is claimed to be.

A lawyer does this when he enters the courtroom and seeks to prove a document is what he claims it is. He has to authenticate it.

1. God authenticated Jesus as both Lord and Christ. He announced his birth supernaturally with angels who told shepherds:
A Savior has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord! (Luke 2:11).

2. Then he proceeded to authenticate him through a myriad of miracles. The magnitude of the miracles, from casting out demons, healing all diseases, raising Lazarus from the dead after four days, feeding thousands from a few loaves and fish, stopping a storm, walking on water, all established that Jesus is LORD –that he has all power and authority. this is never a magic power, it's purely demonstration of the lordship over nature and gravity.

3. The Apostle John confirmed that God had authenticated Jesus through the miracles:
“These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (John 20:31).

(B) Did Jesus Claim to be Lord?

He did indeed. Jesus said to his disciples, “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.” (John 13:13).

When Jesus was about to ascend into heaven he told us the extent of his Lordship: “All power and authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth” (Matthew 28:18).

Is it important that We Believe Jesus Is Who He Said He Is?

Indeed it is. Jesus told the Jews, “I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins.” (John 8:24).

Are you still daunting in your about the lordship of Jesus Christ, it is time for you to start believing in him and his power as Lord and saviour and he is ready to save

John 3:17-18 KJV
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
BELIEVE AND ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST ON TO YOUR LIFE TODAY.

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD JESUS, I BELIEVE YOU AS MY LORD AND SAVIOUR. SAVE ME FROM HELL. AMEN

THE 7 WORD OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS. ( PT7)

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC : THE 7 WORD OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS. ( PT7)

THE SEVENTH WORD
Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit."Gospel of Luke 23:46

The seventh word of Jesus is from the Gospel of Luke, and is directed to the Father in heaven, just before He dies. Jesus recalls Psalm 31:5 - "Into thy hands I commend my spirit; thou hast redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God." Luke repeatedly pleads Jesus' innocence: with Pilate (Luke 23:4, 14-15, 22), through Dismas (by legend), the criminal (Luke 23:41), and immediately after His death with the centurion" "Now when the centurion saw what had taken place, he praised God and said, "Certainly this man was innocent" (Luke 23:47).

Jesus was obedient to His Father to the end, and his final word before his death on the Cross was a prayer to His Father.

The relationship of Jesus to the Father is revealed in the Gospel of John, for He remarked, "The Father and I are one" (10:30), and again, at the Last Supper: "Do you not believe I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own. The Father who dwells in me is doing his works" (14:10). And He can return: "I came from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father" (16:28).
Jesus fulfills His own mission and that of His Father on the Cross:

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, So that everyone who believes in him may not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

FATHER IN JESUS NAME, HELP ME LORD TO FULFIL MY DIVINE PURPOSE IN LIFE IN JESUS NAME. HELP ME TO END WELL.

THE 7 WORD OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS (PT6)

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC : THE 7 WORD OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS (PT6)

THE SIXTH WORDThey put a sponge soaked in wine on a sprig of hyssop and put it up to his mouth. When Jesus had received the wine, he said, "It is finished;" and he bowed his head and handed over the spirit.Gospel of John 19:29-30

John recalls the sacrifice of the Passover Lamb in Exodus 12 in this passage. Hyssop is a small plant that was used to sprinkle the blood of the Passover Lamb on the doorposts of the Hebrews (Exodus 12:22).

John's Gospel related that it was the Day of Preparation, the day before the actual Passover (Pesach in Hebrew, Pascha in Greek and Latin), that Jesus was sentenced to death (19:14) and sacrificed on the Cross (19:31).
John continues in 19:33-34: "But when they came to Jesus and saw he was already dead, they did not break his legs," recalling the instruction in Exodus 12:46

concerning the Passover Lamb. He died at the ninth hour (three o'clock in the afternoon), about the same time as the Passover lambs were slaughtered in the Temple.
Christ became the Paschal or Passover Lamb, as noted by St. Paul: "For Christ our Passover lamb has been sacrificed" (I Corinthians 5:7).

The innocent Lamb was slain for our sins, so that we might be forgiven. It is now a fait accomplit. The sixth word is Jesus' recognition that his suffering is over and his task is completed.

Jesus is obedient to the Father and gives his love for mankind by redeeming us with His death on the Cross.

The above painting is meant to capture the moment. What was the darkest day of mankind became the brightest day for mankind.

And the Gospels as a group captured this paradox. The Synoptic Gospels narrated the horror of the event - the agony in the garden, the abandonment by his Apostles, the trial before the Sanhedrin, the intense mockery and torture heaped upon Jesus, his suffering all alone, the darkness over the land, and his death, starkly portrayed by both Matthew (27:47-51) and Mark (15:33-38).

In contrast, the passion of Jesus in the Gospel of John expresses his Kingship and proves to be His triumphant road to glory.
John presents Jesus as directing the action the entire way.

The phrase "It is finished" carries a sense of accomplishment. In John, there is no trial before the Sanhedrin, but rather Jesus is introduced at the Roman trial as "Behold your King!" (John 19:14). Jesus is not stumbling or falling as in the Synoptic Gospels, but the way of the Cross is presented with majesty and dignity, for "Jesus went out bearing his own Cross" (John 19:17).

And in John, the inscription at the head of the cross is pointedly written "Jesus of Nazareth, The King of the Jews" (John 19:19).

The inscription INRI at the top of the cross is the Latin Iesus Nazarenus, Rex Iudaeorum. The loved ones of Jesus are with Him, and He decisively gives his Mother Mary to the disciple who loved him. When Jesus died, He "handed over" the Spirit. Jesus remained in control to the end, and it is He who handed over his Spirit. One should not miss the double entendre here, for this may also be interpreted as His death brought forth the Holy Spirit.

The Gospel of John gradually reveals the Holy Spirit. Jesus mentions living water in John 4:10-11 when he meets the Samaritan woman at the well, and during the Feast of Tabernacles refers to living water as the Holy Spirit in 7:37-39. At the Last Supper, Christ announces he would ask the Father to send "another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth" (14:16-17). The word Advocate is also translated as Comforter, Helper, Paraclete, or Counselor. "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you" (14:26).

The symbolism of water for the Holy Spirit becomes more evident in John 19:34: "But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately there came out blood and water." The piercing of his side fulfills the prophecy in Zechariah 12:10: "They will look on me whom they have pierced."

THE 7 WORD OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS. ( PT5)

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: THE 7 WORD OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS. ( PT5)

THE FIFTH WORD
"I thirst."
Gospel of John 19:28

The fifth word of Jesus is His only human expression of His physical suffering. Jesus is now in shock.
The wounds inflicted upon him in the scourging, the crowning with thorns, and the nailing upon the cross are now taking their toll, especially after losing blood on the three-hour walk through the city of Jerusalem to Golgotha on the Way of the Cross.

Systematic studies of the Shroud of Turin, as reported by Gerald O'Collins in Interpreting Jesus, indicate the passion of Jesus was far worse than one can imagine.
The Shroud has been exhaustively studied by every possible scientific maneuver, and the scientific burden of proof is now on those who do not accept the Shroud as the burial cloth of Jesus.

Jesus thirsts in a spiritual sense as well. He thirsts for love. He thirsts for the love of his Father, who has forsaken him during this dreadful hour when He must fulfill his mission all alone.
And he thirsts for the love and salvation of his people, the human race. Jesus practiced what he preached:

"This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

Greater love has no man than this, That he lay down his life for his friends."John 15:12-13

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD JESUS SATISFY ALL OUR RIGHTEOUS THIRST AND GIVE US YOUR LOVE DAILY IN JESUS NAME.

THE 7 WORD OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS. (PT4)

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC : THE 7 WORD OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS. (PT4)

THE FOURTH WORD
"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34

This was the only expression of Jesus in the Gospels of Matthew and Mark. Both Gospels related that it was in the ninth hour, after 3 hours of darkness, that Jesus cried out this fourth word.

The ninth hour was three o'clock in Judea. After the fourth Word, Mark related with a horrible sense of finality, "And Jesus uttered a loud cry, and breathed his last" (Mark 15:37).

One is struck by the anguished tone of this expression in contrast to the first three words of Jesus.
This cry is from the painful heart of the human Jesus who must feel deserted by His Father and the Holy Spirit, not to mention his earthly companions the Apostles. As if to emphasize his loneliness, Mark even has his loved ones "looking from afar," not close to him as in the Gospel of John.
Jesus feels separated from his Father. He is now all alone, and he must face death by himself.

But is not this exactly what happens to all of us when we die? We too are all alone at the time of death! Jesus completely lives the human experience as we do, and by doing so, frees us from the clutches of sin.

His fourth Word is the opening line of Psalm 22, and thus his cry from the Cross recalls the cry of Israel, and of all innocent persons who suffer.

Psalm 22 of David makes a striking prophecy of the crucifixion of the Messiah at a time when crucifixion was not known to exist: "They have pierced my hands and my feet, they have numbered all my bones" (22:16-17).
The Psalm continues: "They divide my garments among them, and for my vesture they cast lots" (22:18).

There can not be a more dreadful moment in the history of man as this moment. Jesus who came to save us is crucified, and He realizes the horror of what is happening and what He now is enduring. He is about to be engulfed in the raging sea of sin. Evil triumphs, as Jesus admits: "But this is your hour" (Luke 22:53).
But it is only for a moment. The burden of all the sins of humanity for a moment overwhelm the humanity of our Savior.

But does this not have to happen? Does this not have to occur if Jesus is to save us? It is in defeat of his humanity that the Divine plan of His Father will be completed. It is by His death that we are redeemed. "For there is one God. There is also one mediator between God and the human race, Christ Jesus, himself human, who gave himself as ransom for all" (I Timothy 2:5-6).

"He himself bore our sins in his body upon the cross, so that, free from sin, we might live for righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed." I Peter 2:24

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD NEVER FOR SAKE US IN OUR DARKEST TIME, BE OUR STRENGTH AND SAVIOUR IN JESUS NAME.

THE 7 WORD OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS. (PT3)

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC : THE 7 WORD OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS. (PT3)

THE THIRD WORD"Jesus said to his mother: "Woman, this is your son." Then he said to the disciple: "This is your mother."Gospel of John 19:26-27

Jesus and Mary are together again, at the beginning of his ministry in Cana and now at the end of his public ministry at the foot of the Cross.

The Lord refers to his mother as woman at the Wedding Feast of Cana (John 2:1-11) and in this passage, recalling the woman in Genesis 3:15, the first Messianic prophecy of the Redeemer, and anticipating the woman clothed with the sun in Revelation 12.

What sorrow must fill Mary's heart, to see her Son mocked, tortured, and crucified. Once again, a sword pierces Mary's soul: we are reminded of the prediction of Simeon at the Temple (Luke 2:35) .
There are four at the foot of the cross, Mary his Mother, John, the disciple whom he loved, Mary of Cleopas, his mother's sister, and Mary Magdalene. He addresses his third word to Mary and John, the only eye-witness of the Gospel writers.

But again Jesus rises above the occasion, and his concerns are for the ones that love him. The good son that He is, Jesus is concerned about taking care of his mother. In fact, this passage offers proof that Jesus was the only child of Mary, because if he did have brothers or sisters, they would have provided for her. But Jesus looks to John to care for her.

St. Joseph is noticeably absent. The historic paintings, such as Tondodoni by Michelangelo and The Holy Family by Raphael, suggest Joseph was a considerably older man. St. Joseph had probably died by the time of the crucifixion, or else he would have been the one to take care of Mary.
Early Christian traditions and the second-century apocryphal Protoevangelium of James held that Joseph was a widower, and his children by his former wife were the "brothers and sisters of Jesus."

Another striking phrase indicating Jesus of Nazareth was an only child is Mark 6:3, referring to Jesus: "Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon, and are not his sisters here with us?" Now if James, Joses and Judas and Simon were also natural sons of Mary, Jesus would not have been called the "son of Mary," but rather "one of the sons of Mary."

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD JESUS, DELIVER US FROM PAINS OF DEATH OF LOVE ONE'S IN JESUS NAME.

THE 7 WORD OF THE JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS. (PT2)

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC : THE 7 WORD OF THE JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS. (PT2)

THE SECOND WORD"Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."Gospel of Luke 23:43

Now it is not just the religious leaders or the soldiers that mock Jesus, but even one of the criminals, a downward progression of mockery.
But the criminal on the right speaks up for Jesus, explaining the two criminals are receiving their just due, whereas "this man has done nothing wrong." Then, turning to Jesus, he asks, "Jesus, remember me when you come in your kingdom" (Luke 23:42).

What wonderful faith this repentant sinner has in Jesus - far more than the doubting Thomas, one of his own Apostles. Ignoring his own suffering, Jesus responds with love and mercy in His second word.

The second word again is about forgiveness, this time directed to a sinner. Just as the first word, this Biblical expression is found only in the Gospel of Luke. Jesus shows his Divinity by opening heaven for a repentant sinner - such generosity to a man that only asked to be remembered!

This expression offers us hope for salvation, for if we turn our hearts and prayers to Him, we will also be with Jesus Christ at the end of our lives.

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME, HELP US TO LIVE RIGHT WITH YOU ALWAYS AND MAKE US RAPTURABLE AT THE END OF OUR LIFE.

THE 7 WORD OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS.

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: THE 7 WORD OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS.

THE FIRST WORD"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do."Gospel of Luke 23:34

Jesus is looking down from the cross just after he was crucified between two criminals. He sees the soldiers who have mocked him, scourged him and tortured him, and who have just nailed him to the cross.

He probably remembers those who have sentenced him - Caiaphas and the high priests of the Sanhedrin. Pilate realized it was out of envy that they handed him over (Matthew 27:18, Mark 15:10).

But is Jesus not also thinking of his Apostles and companions who have deserted him, to Peter who has denied him three times, to the fickle crowd, who only days before praised him on his entrance to Jerusalem, and then days later chose him over Barabbas to be crucified?

Is he also thinking of us, who daily forget him in our lives?

Does he react angrily? No! At the height of his physical suffering, his love prevails and He asks His Father to forgive! Could there ever be greater irony? Jesus asks his Father to forgive, but it is by His very Sacrifice on the Cross that mankind is able to be forgiven!

Right up to his final hours on earth, Jesus preaches forgiveness. He teaches forgiveness in the Lord's prayer: "Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us" (Matthew 6:12).

When asked by Peter, how many times should we forgive someone, Jesus answers seventy times seven (Matthew 18:21-22). At the Last Supper, Jesus explains his crucifixion to his Apostles when he tells them to drink of the cup: "Drink of it, all of you; for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins" (Matthew 26:27-28).

He forgives the paralytic at Capernaum (Mark 2:5), and the adulteress caught in the act and about to be stoned (John 8:1-11). And even following his Resurrection, his first act is to commission his disciples to forgive: "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained" (John 20:22-23).

This word is coming to you today for you to receive total forgiveness from God and to forgive others who have wronged you despite the pains,

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD JESUS, LET'S YOUR SPIRIT TO FORGIVE THOSE WHO WRONG ME COME INTO ME IN JESUS NAME.

THE KISSES OF JUDAS

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: THE KISSES OF JUDAS

TEXT: Matthew 26:48-49 KJV
Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast. [49] And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.

When Judas kissed Jesus, he became guilty of one of the greatest sins of all time.

Kissing is suppose to be a kind of greeting from heart, 2Cor 13:12.
Kissing from a loved one motivate and give courage to a discourage soul.
Kissing activate mind to be sound.
Kissing make a rejected one to feel real loved.

But in the cases of Judas, kissing was a betray of trust, Deadly, deception and wicked.

This man Judas had walked with Jesus for three years. He saw Jesus walk on water, feed the multitude with just a few pieces of bread and fish, raise Lazarus from the dead, and yet, even after all of this, he had never been born again—he never received Christ into his heart. And so he betrayed the Lord for 30 pieces of silver.

Brethren this morning I want you to wake up to reality of people like Judas around us. Whom their kisses is only to kill us spiritually or even physically.

Beware of Judas kisses
Beware of fake love
Beware of bad friends in sheep's clothing.
Beware of evil member, workers, and follower.

Proverbs 27:6 KJV
Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

Psalm 5:9 KJV
For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.

LET US PRAY
EVERY EVIL POWER AIMING AT KILLING MY GLORY. DIE BY FIRE IN JESUS NAME.

SUFFERING FOR CHRIST

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: SUFFERING FOR CHRIST

TEXT: 1 PETER 4:12-19

let us find out why we need to suffer for Christ and what we can do to cope.

Our passage says that early believers were surprised at the painful trial they suffered and thought that it was as though something strange were happening to them.

What kind of sufferings were Peter’s readers experiencing?

1. Suffering for doing what is good because one is conscious of God. (1 Peter 2:19)

It is obvious that people do not appreciate your good deeds because you are conscious of God. They think that you simply want to impress others and make them look bad. Others thought that you are self-righteous and critical of their behaviors.

2. Suffering for being a Christian. (1 Peter 4:16)

Not everyone recognize the identity and intention of Christ when He died on the cross. A lot of people insulted him and Jesus said that if this happened to him then we must prepare ourselves for the same destiny.

Peter said “don’t be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering as though something strange were happening to you.”
Why would Peter’s readers not be surprised at the painful trial they were suffering?

1. Sufferings prove the genuineness of our faith (1 Peter 1:6-7)

Suffering is not to be regarded as something foreign to Christian experience but rather as a refining test. As gold is extracted and refined by fire so is our faith being refined by trials and sufferings.

The genuineness and strength of faith can be proven by subjecting it to trials and sufferings. God wanted us to have faith that will pass every type of testing. We must have faith that outlived the sufferings and trials of life.

ILLUSTRATION Christians are like tea; their real strength is not drawn out until they get into hot water.

2. Sufferings are part of God’s calling. (1 Peter 2:21-23)

Jesus said, "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first" (John 15:18). Let us realize that suffering is part of the package that Christianity offers.
Sufferings are instrument of Satan to discourage us. But be strong and believe that and end will surely come to your suffering and you shall be glorify in Jesus.

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD JESUS, LET MY SUFFERING TURN TO JOY THIS MONTH IN JESUS NAME.

Text: Jn 19:16-18

SUFFERING AT THE HAND OF
SOVERIENGTY

In these verses, Jesus suffers at the hands of His own Father.

Since the beginning of time, God had never fully visited sin with 100% judgment. Rom. 9:22
At Calvary, God dealt with the sin issue fully and finally, and He did it in the body of His own darling Son!

1. Stripped Naked - Matt. 27:35

2. Crucified - Nailed to a cross and hung up to die - Matt. 27:35

3. Abandoned, for a time, by His own Father - Matt. 27:46

4. Absolutely marred beyond belief - Isa. 50:14

5. At the cross, God judged sin and He did through Jesus - Isa. 53:4, 6, 10-11

(Rom. 6:23; Heb. 2:9)

Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe, sin had left a crimson satin, He washed it white as snow

I praise the Lord for all He suffered for us! I am grateful that I am loved to that degree by such a wonderful Savior! Because He was willing to suffer and die, you and I are free to live! Hallelujah!

Brethren don't let this sufferness go in vain. All you need is to give your life to him today.

LET US PRAY
