An Answer to Prayer, Beyond Imagination

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

Scripture: “All glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” Ephesians 3:20

“Why is God taking so long to answer?”

Have you been praying hard for God to work in your life? Scripture tells us that God hears our prayers; yet we might wait years for His answers. Eventually, though, His response can be greater than anything we can expect.

God Might Say “Yes; Here Is More”

God promised His people, “I know the plans I have for you. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11). Many people don’t realize that God’s plan for Israel involved 70 long years of suffering under Babylonian exile. It was a good plan, but it was far from instant success. So we must trust Him, even when relief or fulfillment seem to take forever

LET US PRAY

IN JESUS NAME, THIS WEEK WILL BE A WEEK OF ANSWER TO ALL YOUR PRAYER IN JESUS NAME GOD WILL SAY YES TO YOU

HAPPY NEW WEEK BRETHREN

Boko Haram's Source Of Weapons Revealed

After many speculations on where the Islamist militant group, Boko Haram, are getting the weapons they frequently use to unleash terror in the north-eastern states of Nigeria and Abuja, their main sources have been unveiled.
According to US network TV NBC, most of the Islamic terror group’s weapons are either stolen from Nigerian military stocks or purchased on the thriving Central African arms black market, say the experts, including current and former U.S. officials.
While many have often wondered where the insurgents source their weaponry from, given both the sophistication and the sheer number, ThisDay reports that the group blamed for last month’s kidnapping of nearly 300 Nigerian schoolgirls routinely raids police stations and military bases in search of weapons
It was also gathered that in some cases, Boko Haram sympathizers in the Nigerian military abet the theft.

“There are hints that sympathizers in the Nigerian army will deliberately leave doors of armouries unlocked for Boko Haram," said John Campbell, U.S. ambassador to Nigeria from 2004 to 2007.
It could also be recalled that a top military officer was indicted several years ago in Kaduna, for supplying the weapons of the Nigerian army to Niger Delta militants, led by, now jailed, Henry Okah.
The terror group has been conducting its campaign of terror in the northern states of Nigeria and neighboring Cameroon on the cheap, making mayhem with a makeshift collection of small arms, automatic weapons, rifles, rocket- propelled grenades and mortars, experts on the turbulent region say.
The report also stated that apart from weapons, the rebels frequently seize non-lethal equipment that helps them carry out their terror attacks, quoting one U.S. official.

Apart from benefiting from sympathizers in the Nigerian military, the Islamic terror group is said to be able to purchase small arms and occasionally some larger weaponry in nearby conflict zones, “probably Libya, probably Chad.
These arms are believed to be acquired through "shady, black market" arrangements across barely marked borders, as the official put it.
The porousness of the Nigerian borders was also said to be encouraging the proliferation of the country with illegal arms, according to Michael Leiter, a former director of the National Counter Terrorism Center and now an NBC News analyst.
"The collapse of Libya has further flooded the market,” said Leiter. "Whether these came from Chad, Nigeria, or Libya is almost irrelevant, as such arms are widely available."

Arms trade expert William M. Hartung agrees. "It's one conflict after another," he said. "Because of the nature of the conflict … the concentration of conflicts … the black market in Central Africa is more vibrant than other places.”
Campbell, the former U.S. ambassador to Nigeria, says the array of small and automatic weapons, grenades, mortars, mines and perhaps car bombs "is all Boko Haram’s soldiers need to carry out their brand of terrorism."
It could be recalled that officials in Cameroon on Tuesday showed a cache of weapons they said was seized near the Nigerian border last month following a rescue of some other kidnapped victims.
A Cameroon defense ministry spokesman, showing off a variety of weaponry including Russian-made AK-47s, said the cache represents what they are up against on a daily basis in trying to combat Boko Haram.

Are u fit for the building of holy temple?

"By Afolayan Folashade

the gospel of Jesus, made it clear to us, that God is not intrested in living in a temple built by man hands.but now, God has desided to live in a holy temple which wil b build by his own hand, and that is our body.Act17:24-28,[v24]
God that made the world and things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands. that was why in Jhn2:16-19.[v19 Jesus answered destroy this temple, and in three days i will raise it up.

Our Lives Are Examples

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Our Lives Are Examples

Scripture: "Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God."(1 Peter 2:12 )

I have a confession to make. One day while driving, I made a rude gesture to another driver who had almost caused an accident. But then I remembered that I had a church bumper sticker on my car! I had no excuse to be disrespectful anyway; but, I asked myself, how dare I be rude almost literally in Jesus’ Name?

Can’t Help Doing Wrong

Have you ever had a similar experience? If so, you’re in good company: the Apostle Paul wrote, “I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway” (Romans 7:19 ). Only God’s saving grace through Jesus Christ allows us to be forgiven, and helps us turn away from sin. Paul goes on to advise, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person”(Romans 12:2 ). I shouldn’t have reacted in a worldly way when I was scared; I should have followed Jesus’ example of self-control.

Light of the World

Jesus told His followers, “You are the light of the world”(Matthew 5:14). So, “we must live decent lives for all to see”(Romans 13:13). You never know when someone is watching you. If a Christian repeats the same sin over and over, what kind of testimony is that? But if you are living for Jesus, you can be a godly example to those around you – even in places where it is unsafe to talk about Him.

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME, LORD GIVE US A GRACE TO ALWAYS DO WHAT IS RIGHT IN JESUS NAME. AMEN

HAVE A FULFILL DAY FRIENDS

Borno Villagers fight off Boko Haram gunmen, kill several and Capture 10

Residents of Kalabalge Village in Borno State on Tuesday fought off invading Boko Haram gunmen in an early morning attack, killing several of them with about 10 also caught alive.

According to Premium Times, the insurgents had repeatedly attempted to attack Kalabalge, an agro-nomad community near the Cameroon borders, but failed to gain entry into the village on each attempt.
A vigilante member told premuim times on phone

“We have told them (Boko Haram) that they cannot take their attacks to our village because, we have taken measures both security wise and spiritually to prevent them. They wanted to attack us just the way they did in Bama, Konduga and Damboa, but we got the wind of it and all of us laid ambush for them; when they neared the village, we opened fire using our Dane duns, double barrel rifles and bows-and-arrows, most of them who were shocked took to their heels, but many of them died, some that were injured have been caught alive and are with the security people as I am talking to you”,

An official of the State Security Service who pleads anonymity confirmed the incident to reporters on phone.
“The insurgents tried to attack the village as at 5 a.m. of this morning (Tuesday) but the vigilante and some members of the village who got the hint of the attack laid ambush and were able to kill as many of them as possible, while about ten of them were caught alive; they also recovered two trucks from the insurgents”

Civilians Kill 200 Boko Haram Terrorists In Borno attack yesterday

Article written by Dr. Peregrino Brimah for ENDS.ng

The rise of the civilians against terror took the Boko Haram saga to a new turn in the early hours of Tuesday morning when citizens of Rann, headquarters of Kala-Balge local government area, Borno northeast, who had fore-knowledge of an impending Boko Haram attack, decided not to remain sitting ducks but prepared for battle.
According to reports we received from Civilian sources in Borno, over 400 Boko Haram terrorists stormed Rann and neighboring villages in the early hours of Tuesday, with their usual convoy of hilux trucks, motorcycles and APC (Armored Personnel Carriers) only to meet villagers ready for them this time. The civilian villagers pounced on the terrorists with mere rocks, bows and arrows, local Dane guns, swords and “charms,” but as we have earlier reported, Boko Haram are more frightened of Civilian-JTF than they are of the Nigerian army, and run from the civilians even if they - the civilians only have knives

The battle raged till the sun came up and ended with the civilians killing over 200 Boko Haram terrorists, capturing several prisoners and recovering several of their vehicles.

From an account of a civilian who participated in defending the neighborhoods, as reported in DailyTrust, “Our people also recovered over 70 motorcycles that the attackers came with. They also collected 2 Hilux vehicles and an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) while some of the attackers were captured alive.” [Daily Trust]

This amazing victory of good over evil, promises a new direction in the war against terror that has wrecked hundreds of farming villages in the north of Nigeria in the last four years, largely unchecked by State security. Civilians determined to arrest a situation they believe the Nigerian security services has permitted to destroy their farming villages in various towns in the north east, have apparently decided take up a fighting posture against Boko Haram terrorists; no longer waiting for a military response that hardly ever comes.

Last week, Boko Haram terrorists ravaged Gondura Ngala town, freely without any hindrance from the Nigerian military drafted to the north, and decimated the entire town, killing over 300 residents. On April 14th, Boko Haram stormed Chibok and abducted over 200 girls. In that episode, Amnesty International reported that the Nigerian security services were fully informed of the impending attack, by civilian vigilantes and other Intel, several hours prior, yet did not alert or defend the village nor engage the terrorists for a full eight hours of the abduction, looting and destruction of the village.
A mother from Chibok reportedly told CNN, that “if the army is not ready to fight Boko Haram, then we will fight them ourselves.” Apparently that day has come.

The Civilian-JTF and ENDS.ng civil rights group is pressing the Nigerian government for the civilians to have the right and government support, to bear arms, to end the terror scourge once and for all. The government is yet to officially respond to this urgent request as villagers remain at the mercy of Boko Haram terrorists.

The Shehu of Bama is reported to have ordered his citizens to go get guns, after his town was completely decimated twice by Boko Haram terrorists with no military response for the full eight hours of carnage. More towns are expected to follow suit as the nations leadership sleeps and permits terrorists the largely unhindered freedom to operate, massacre and destroy Nigeria’s farmers and northern farming villages.

200 Boko Haram Terrorists Killed By Locals in Kala-Balge LGA of Borno State

About 200 suspected Boko Haram terrorists lost their lives today in a failed attempt to ravage the town of Rann, headquarters of Kala/Balge LGA of Borno State, as local residents retaliated.

According to sources, over 300 insurgents stormed Rann and nearby villages in the early hours of Tuesday, but were met by armed locals who had knowledge of the impending attack.
A Borno official who asked for anonymity confirmed the attack, saying about 200 of gunmen were killed, while others escaped with serious wounds. Some 70 motorcycles were recovered from the insurgents, as well as several Toyota Hilux vehicles and an armoured personnel carrier. Most importantly, some of the attackers were captured alive.
Borno State police commissioner, Lawan Tanko, said he was yet to be briefed of the attack.

It is not yet clear whether the insurgents are heading towards Kala-Balge for a renewed attack. GSM services in the area have been vandalized by insurgents over two years ago and locals in the area rely on Cameroonian telephone facilities to reach out.
Kala-Balge lies along the shores of the lake Chad, sharing border with Cameroon.
Despite the emergency rule imposed on the state a year ago, Borno State has been a constant target for Boko Haram attacks. Over 200 female students were kidnapped by the sect on April 14 from Chibok town. Ngala LGA of the state has also been hit, as over 300 persons were killed on May 5; another 30 lost their lives on May 8, when a bridge linking Nigeria to Cameroon was bombed by the sect.

US deploys planes in search for Nigerian girls

The US has revealed it is flying manned surveillance missions over Nigeria to try to find more than 200 schoolgirls kidnapped by the militant Islamist group Boko Haram.
The US is also sharing commercial satellite imagery with the Nigerian government, officials said.
It comes after militants released a video of about 130 girls, saying they could be swapped for jailed fighters.

Boko Haram seized them from a school in the northern Borno state on 14 April.

“We have shared commercial satellite imagery with the Nigerians and are flying manned ISR (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) assets over Nigeria with the government’s permission,” a senior administration official, who declined to be named, said.

A team of about 30 US experts – members of the FBI and defence and state departments – is in Nigeria to help with the search.
The BBC’s Rajini Vaidyanathan in Washington says the types of aircraft deployed haven’t been revealed, but the US does have sophisticated planes that can listen into a wide range of mobile phone and telecommunications traffic.

Other officials, quoted by Reuters, said the US was also considering deploying unmanned “drone” aircraft to aid the search.

US state department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said earlier on Monday that intelligence experts were closely examining the Boko Haram video for clues that might help locate the girls.

Pogu Bitrus, a leader in the town of Chibok, from where the girls were seized, said vegetation in the video resembled that in the nearby Sambisa forest reserve.

The video showed some 136 girls wearing bulky hijabs. Militants said they had “converted” to Islam.
The girls’ families have said that most of those seized are Christians.

Two girls on the video were singled out for questioning and said they were Christians but had converted to Islam.

Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau said the girls could be exchanged for “our brethren in your prison”.

Boko Haram released a new video on Monday claiming to show the missing schoolgirls, and would not be released until all militant prisoners were freed.

Boko Haram released a new video on Monday claiming to show the missing schoolgirls, alleging they had converted to Islam and would not be released until all militant prisoners were freed.

The group's leader, Abubakar Shekau, speaks on the video obtained by AFP for 17 minutes before showing what he said were about 130 of the girls, wearing the full-length hijab and praying in an undisclosed rural location.

A total of 276 girls were abducted on April 14 from the northeastern town of Chibok, in Borno state, which has a sizeable Christian community. Some 223 are still missing.

When You Pray, Expect the Unexpected

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: When You Pray, Expect the Unexpected

Scripture: “He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.” John 1:10-11

Sometimes God gives us exactly what we ask for, when we ask for it. But when His answers don’t come right away, it’s often because He has something much better for us. This series discusses some of the many ways God answers prayer.

God may hold back something we want, or give us something different, which in the long term will prove to be much better. He tells us that “My ways are higher than your ways, and My thoughts higher than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:9). God’s “yes” to your prayer might look very different from what you expect.

LET US PRAY
THIS WEEK IN JESUS NAME YOU WILL GET A GOOD ANSWER TO ALL YOUR PRAYERS IN JESUS NAME

Chibok :- American Marines locate abducted girls in Sambisa forest

There were indications yesterday that the 230 female students abducted by Boko Haram terrorists from the Government Girls’ Secondary School, GGSS, Chibok, Borno State, have been sited at the Sambisa Forest in Borno State, by the Special Forces of the United States Marines.

The girls who were abducted on April 14, were part of the 250 students boarded at the school for the West African School Certificate, WASC/ Senior Secondary School Certificate, SSSC, examinations, triggering world-wide condemnations.

This was even as more US military officials arrived Nigeria yesterday to join local officials in the search for nearly 300 school girls taken captives by the Islamist extremist group, Boko Haram, the US Secretary of State John Kerry, and the defence department, Pentagon, said.
sambisa

The UK team had earlier arrived in Abuja to support Nigerian government in its response to the abduction of over 200 school girls.

The arrival of the foreign troops is coming on the heels of the appeal yesterday by the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar for Nigerians to unite and fight the insurgents to achieve success.
According to Kerry, “Our inter-agency team is hitting the ground in Nigeria now and they are going to be working with President Goodluck Jonathan’s government to do everything that we possibly can to return these girls.”

The CNN also quoted the U.S. Navy Rear Admiral, John Kirby, who serves as Pentagon press secretary, as saying that the small team of seven would join advisers supporting local efforts to find the girls abducted over three weeks ago.

Kerry said the US team, working with the Nigerian government, would do everything possible to free the girls and everything possible to stop the atrocities of Boko Haram.

“We are also going to do everything possible to counter the menace of Boko Haram. The entire world should not only be condemning this outrage but should be doing everything possible to help Nigeria in the days ahead,” he added.

But there are no plans to send American combat troops into Nigeria, Mr. Kirby said.

The abduction of the school girls on April 14 in a remote community in Borno State, one of the most shocking terrorist acts by Boko Haram yet, has drawn widespread anger around the world with calls for a swift action.

President Goodluck Jonathan said Thursday that the kidnapping will be “the beginning of end” of Boko Haram.

US President Obama has said he hopes the abduction by Boko Haram will galvanize the international community to act against the brutal group that has directed much of its cruelty on civilians and the innocent.

This week, more than 100 people were killed in a busy market by militants suspected to be from the group. The attack occurred in Gamboru Ngala, Borno State, near the Nigerian border with Cameroun.

Besides the United States, Britain, France and China have also offered to help rescue the stolen girls.Obama said the team sent to Nigeria comprised personnel from military, law enforcement and other agencies.

France said it will station 3,000 troops in Nigeria’s neighbouring countries to help fight militants in the Sahel region.
British satellites and advanced tracking capabilities also will be used, and China has promised to provide any intelligence gathered by its satellite network.

Meanwhile in a statement yesterday, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokesperson said, “a team of UK experts who will advise and support the Nigerian authorities in its response to the abduction of over 200 school girls touched down in Abuja, Nigeria this morning”.

The team is drawn from across government, including DfID, FCO and the MoD, and will work with the Nigerian authorities leading on the abductions and terrorism in Nigeria. The team will be considering not just the recent incidents but also longer-term counter-terrorism solutions to prevent such attacks in the future and defeat Boko Haram.

The team will be working closely with their US counterparts and others to coordinate efforts.

Us Ma rines find abducted girls, arrest Boko Haram leader
However, military sources said that apart from abducting the girls, the insurgents also carted away food items and vehicles as well as killing undisclosed number of people in Chibok on the fateful night.

The sources told Saturday Vanguard in Abuja that members of the United States Marines who are already in Maiduguri following the promise by President Barak Obama to assist Nigeria in rescuing the abducted girls, located the girls inside the forest, using some Satellite equipment which combed the forest, located an assembly of the young girls and sent the images back to the Marines on ground in Maiduguri.

Aside locating the whereabouts of the girls in the dense forest, it was also, further gathered that one of the leaders of terrorist group who participated in the abduction of the girls was arrested by a combined team of the US Marines and Nigerian forces.
Sources said that the Boko Haram leader was arrested, through an advanced interceptor equipment which was used to track the terrorist while exchanging information with his colleagues in Sambisa Forest about the movements of American and Nigerian soldiers in Maiduguri.

His phone was subsequently traced to a location in Maiduguri where he was arrested and handed over to the Nigerian military.
The location of the girls in the forest is contrary to widespread reports that the girls had been distributed and ferried to the Nigerian border towns in Chad, Cameroon and Niger Republic.

Senator Ahmed Zanna, representing Borno Central District in whose Maiduguri home, an alleged Boko Haram top commander was once arrested told the Senate last week that he gave the Military an up-to-date information on how the girls could be rescued, but lamented that his information was largely ignored.

He spoke against the backdrop of the claim by the Boko Haram leader, Sheik Abubakar Shekau, last week that the girls were booties of war, who would be sold into slavery.

Atiku appeals for unity to defeat Boko Haram

However, the arrival of the foreign military officials is coming on the heels of the appeal yesterday by the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar on Nigerians to unite and fight the insurgents.
Atiku said on his blog, “While I have had and continue to have major policy differences with the government in Abuja and its leadership, as a nation we must remain united.

”We have come to a turning point in our war against terrorism in Nigeria. It is a critical moment for us; the war will not be won without us winning this battle. In short, if one is not part of the solution, they become part of the problem.

”And at a moment like this, we can no longer afford anything but a united commitment to stamping out a great evil that threatens the very existence of the only place we call home.

”On social media, I have been amazed by the outpouring of solidarity from within and outside Nigeria. While on the one hand it is sad to see Nigeria in the news for its inability to protect its most vulnerable citizens, it is also clear that in the age of social media no concerns or problems are local.

”It is in light of this that I welcome the offer of military support from the United States, United Kingdom, France and others, and the acceptance by the Nigerian government. While I believe that we waited too long to get to this point of admitting our need for external help, I will also insist that it’s better late than never.

”We must make it clear that under no circumstances should any person, group of persons, or organization ever be permitted to prey on the children of Nigeria, or any other country. We must make it easy for everyone who has information about this crime against humanity to contact the authorities at once.

”We must make it easy for the innocent population of the affected areas to see the Nigerian military and authorities as friends, not enemies. We must make it easy for our soldiers to be loyal and committed to this great and difficult task ahead of them.

”We must make it easy for the world to see Nigeria as a country that cares for all its citizens, regardless of their age, gender, religion, ethnic group or economic class. We must remember the people most affected, trapped on the frontlines of the battle.
They need support, relief and rehabilitation. ”We must remember they will need help when they are returned home to their families and their loved ones. And we must make it difficult for anyone to play politics with this crisis.

’’Nothing, absolutely nothing, is worth the bloodshed and the destruction we have come to associate with this campaign of terror. Not party affiliations, not the 2015 elections. We are in a race against time. For every day we delay our response, or allow ourselves to be caught up in needless bickering, we hand victory over to the forces of darkness and despair, like Boko Haram.”

No Boko Haram activities in Lagos —Police

In a related development, the Lagos State Police Command said yesterday that the rumour about activities of Boko Haram members in some parts of the state was false.

The Public Relations Officer, PRO, of the state Police Command, DSP Ngozi Braide, made this known at a news conference yesterday, at Premier College Group of Schools, Palm Avenue, Mushin, where the sect members allegedly invaded.
“It is not true that there is any act of terrorism anywhere in Lagos State. It is a lie that the terrorists invaded Premier College to abduct students.

“Somebody just sat down somewhere and cooked up the lies to cause panic in the state.

“Premier College and other schools in the state are safe and secure; let the public discountenance the rumour,“ she said.
The Executive Director of the college, Mr Abraham Martins, spoke in the same vein, describing the rumour as ”false and baseless.”
There are indications that with the confirmation that the girls are still within Nigerian territory, contrary to widespread reports that the girls have been distributed and ferried out, the original plan to storm Sambisa forest which was put on hold, would now be activated. It is however not clear if and when the the rescue operation would begin.

Nigerian Girl Guides Association expresses worry
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Girl Guides Association,NGGA, has joined millions of Nigerians to express worry over the continued abduction of 234 female students and called on the Federal Government to ensure that the girls are rescued unhurt to re-unite with their families.

The association, in a statement signed by its Chief Commissioner, Dame (Dr) Christie Toby also challenged Nigerians to be security conscious and assist law enforcement agencies in fighting the enemies of the nation.

“The NGGA joins all well-meaning people all over the world to express shock over the abduction of 234 innocent school girls in Borno State.

“We are sad that up till this moment, these girls are still missing. The NGGA, being a female organisation, is specially concerned, and condemns such a heinous act.

“We declare our support for these girls and their families and pray God to strengthen them in these trying times. We appreciate the fact that government is fighting terrorism in Nigeria, but we are appealing to President Jonathan to ensure that these girls are returned safely to their families so that they can continue with their education.

“We also appeal to all security agencies and people of goodwill to support President Jonathan as they work to bring back our dear girls,” the statement added.

US Marines carry out first arrests of Two Boko Haram Members in Benue State

US Marines carry out first arrests of Two Boko Haram Members in Benue State

US Marines currently in Nigeria to help the government combat Boko Haram terrorists have made their first arrests taking two male suspects into custody after they were found in possession of arms and ammunition during a targeted search. Over the last week, US Marines have arrived in Nigeria to help with the fight against terrorism after Boko Haram took their war of terror to another level by abducting 234 pupils from Government Girls Secondary School Chibok in Borno State.

Acknowledging that the matter was getting beyond its control, the Nigerian government swallowed its pride and accepted outside help. With the abduction coming at a time when Nigeria is hosting World Economic Forum on Africa and inbetween two horrific bomb blasts in Abuja, there has been a lot of international offer of support. France, the UK, the US and China have all offered differing degrees of support in the form of intelligence, training and military assistance.

Since Wednesday, US troops have arrived in Nigeria where they are providing security for the WEF summit on Africa. It is expected that the Marines will also join Nigerian soldiers in pursuing Boko Haram into the Sambisa Forest in Borno State where they are believed to have spirited the kidnapped girls to. According to Major General Chris Olukolade, Nigeria’s director of defence information, two suspected Boko Haram members were arrested at Anyibe in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.

He added that the duo, made up of a teenager and an elderly man, were arrested during a cordon-and-search operation and found to be in possession of firearms. Weapons found in their possession included two rifles, three locally fabricated pistols and 61 rounds of special ammunition. Apparently, the arms were found in the possession of the teenager he is currently undergoing interrogation in custody.

US marines are highly specialised soldiers who have been deployed effectively in areas affected by serious conflict and terrorism such as Afghanistan and Iraq. It is not yet clear how many Marines will be deployed to Nigeria as part of the current operation or if they will establish a base in Borno State.

KEEP PRAYING

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: KEEP PRAYING

We often ask when things sims hard, Why Should I Keep Praying?

So why should you keep praying for something you want? “Jesus told His disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up,” which you can read about in Luke 18.

Luke 18:1-8 KJV
And he spake a parable unto them to this end , that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; [2] Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: [3] And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. [4] And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; [5] Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. [6] And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. [7] And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? [8] I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

God might be using this time of waiting to build up your faith and hope in Him. When you are praying and waiting for God to act, remember that God can use whatever you are going through to “strengthen your confident hope of Salvation” (Romans 5:4).

LET US PRAY
TODAY IN JESUS NAME YOU WILL GET ANSWER TO ALL YOUR PRAYER REQUEST IN JESUS NAME

Trust and Hope

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Trust and Hope

God has promised His people that “He will neither fail you nor abandon you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).
It might seem like He is ignoring you, that He does not hear your prayers, or that He does not care. But He will not ignore you, He can always hear you, and He loves you so much that He gave Himself through Jesus Christ.

The Apostle Paul taught, “if we [hope for something], we must wait patiently and confidently” (Romans 8:25).

While you wait for God to answer your prayer, you can ask Him for patience

LET US PRAY
FATHER LORD IN JESUA NAME, PLEASE GIVE EVERYONE OF US A GRACE TO HOPE AND TRUST YOU DEEPLY EVEN WHEN LIFE SIMS DIFFICULT IN JESUS NAME. AMEN

HAVE A BLISSFUL DAY FRIENDS

Graphic pics: Suspected female ritualist set ablaze by a mob in Abule Egba

Can the Lagos State government please make jungle justice a crime punishable by many years in prison? This can't continue happening. We as citizens can't keep taking the laws into our hands. Other wise innocent people will suffer too. The pics from this scene is so gory, I don't know if I should share it.

The woman pictured above was accused of attempting to kidnap three primary school pupils in the Ekoro area of Abule-Egba, Lagos yesterday May 6th. Eye-witnesses claim the woman stopped the kids, who were aged 7-10 years as they were going to school, and asked to take them to school.

Then a female hawker in the area, suspecting the woman was up to no good, alerted others in the area who then surrounded the woman and started asking her questions. They say the woman claimed they were her children but couldn't give their names and the direction she was taking them wasn't where their school was...plus the children said they didn't know her and before anyone could stop it, they descended on the woman. Beating her to a stupor and then setting her ablaze.

See the gory pics from the scene after the cut...will take it down in a bit...

Boko Haram Leader Abubakar Shekau Declares: "We Will Kill All Christians"

The leader of the violent Islamic insurgent sect, Boko Haram, Sheik Abubakar Shekau, has come out to declare that the war he is waging in Nigeria is actually a war against Christians and Christianity in the country.

Despite what many Moslem religious leaders have been making Nigerians to believe that the insurgents are not fighting for Islam, Shekau has declared that what he is actually fighting for is to make Nigeria an Islamic country and that he and his group will kill all non Moslems.

Shortly after he released a video claiming responsibility for the abduction of the female students of the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, Shekau released another video, declaring an outright war against Christians in the country.

He also boasted of being in league with the likes of Afghanistan, Mali, Yemen and Pakistan, whose life ambition is to make the whole world an Islamic country.

This is what Shekau said in the video he released:

«This is a war against Christians and democracy and their constitution; we have not started, we will be in Abuja, and in every state in Nigeria.

«This war is against Christians, I mean Christians, generally the infidels. Allah says we should finish them when we get them.

«I have no time with your trillion. I am working for Allah and will die for it. No one can stop me. You killed Mohammed Yusuf. Are you not saying he is even better than Shekau?

«Even if you kill me, other fighters will rise better than me; I am nothing and worthless before Allah who I am working for. You are sitting with Christians and saying we are one, saying there is no difference. We are not one with infidels.

«We are friends with Afghanistan, Mali, Yemen and Pakistan, and we are going to wipe out the Christians

«Are Christians the people we should play with? It is either you are with us or you are with them, and when we see you, we will harvest your neck with knife.

Who will save Nigerians from these blood suckers?

God Might Say “No”

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: God Might Say “No”

In Matthew 19:26, Jesus says "With God all things are possible." Even though God can do anything, it doesn’t mean he will. God has a special plan for each of us. What you ask of God may seem like a humble request that will honor him, but maybe it isn’t in His plan for your life. You might be a faithful follower of Christ and you’re praying for God to take away something that gives you pain and suffering. God knows if the trial you are going through will result in an amazing testimony. That testimony might cause many others to believe in Christ. Remember, God may have a purpose for your pain. God can see the bigger picture and, as a result, God may say no to your prayer.

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME, LET ALL YOUR DESIRE FOR MY LIFE COME TO REALITY TO YOUR GLORY AND MY BLESSING IN JESUS NAME
AMEN

Missing School Girls: 2 Die, Others Critically Ill

A man who claimed to be an intermediary of the dreaded Boko Haram sect has alleged that two of the girls who were abducted from Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State in a night raid by the insurgents have died from snakebite.

20 of the abducted girls are also said to be critically ill.

The said intermediary also claimed that those who were Christians among the missing girls had been forced to convert to Islam.

This is coming not long after the leader of the sect, Abubakar Shekau released a video claiming responsibility for the abduction of the girls, adding that it was Allah who sent him to do so.

He however did not reveal the number of girls nor where they were being held hostage.

Meanwhile in a televised media chat held in Abuja on Sunday, President Goodluck Jonathan said the authorities didn't know the location of the school girls, adding that the Federal government was not negotiating with the insurgents to secure the release of the abducted schoolgirls as they cannot negotiate with faceless people.

Describing the situation as a trying and painful time for the nation, he pleaded for the cooperation of parents, guardians and local communities in the rescue efforts, promising to get the girls out from wherever they are being held hostage.

It is still not clear the number of girls that were kidnapped as the number keeps changing. At first it was reported that the number of girls abducted were 234, later security operatives said 276 were kidnapped.

Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) had over the weekend published the list of 178 abducted students, out of them 163 Christian girls and only 15 Muslim girls.

Following the girls abduction and failure to secure their release, there has been protests all over the nation and outside the country with people calling for the release of the girls.

Does God Really Hear My Prayers?

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Does God Really Hear My Prayers?

Scripture: “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7

God is Trustworthy

Does it sometimes feel like your prayers are not making it past the ceiling? How can we be sure God is listening? God answers prayer in many ways, and this series will discuss some of those ways.

God Might Say “Wait”

When we want something, we want it now! But God does not always work that way; in fact, He instructs His people, “Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for Him to act” (Psalm 37:7). We do not know what God is doing “behind the scenes,” but you can trust that He is working things out for His purpose and our good. Remember, “Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord” (Psalm 40:4)

LET US PRAY
THIS WEEK GOD WILL GIVE YOU A WONDERFUL ANSWER TO ALL YOUR LONG AWAITED PRAYER IN JESUS NAME

YOU ARE NEEDED SERIOUSLY

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: YOU ARE NEEDED SERIOUSLY

Scripture: "And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows." (1 Thessalonians 3:12)

What are you good at? In what ways are you naturally talented? Do you know that God gave you those gifts and abilities for a reason? There are very few great projects that one person can do alone. You cannot build and maintain a large building by yourself; nor can one Christian build and maintain the Church. God has given His people gifts that work together; therefore, He can let His Church achieve much when we work together, "submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ” What are you good at? In what ways are you naturally talented? Do you know that God gave you those gifts and abilities for a reason? There are very few great projects that just one person can do alone. You can’t build and maintain a large building by yourself. And, one Christian alone can’t build and grow the Christian community. God has given His people gifts that work together; that way, He can let His Church (the Christian community) achieve great things when we work together, “submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ". (Ephesians 5:21).

The Apostle Paul put it this way: “Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body[, the Church]. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other” (Romans 12:4-5). God has given us to one another, and He has also given the Church important duties. St. Paul continues, “If God [gave] you the ability to prophesy, speak out with faith. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God [gave] you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly” (Romans 12:6-8)

Complementary Callings

One important duty is to “preach the Good News to everyone” (Mark 16:15). As with building and maintaining the Church from the inside, God has given us complementary callings for building the Church from the outside – by sharing His Gospel. Again in Romans, St. Paul wrote, “How can [seekers] believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent?” (Romans 10:14-15). Within those questions, I see several Christian “job openings.” Christians are needed to preach the Good News about Jesus, and others are needed to send the preachers. The preachers and the senders will need support – financial, physical, and spiritual. And we can support them by using the gifts God has given us: teaching, giving, serving, praying, etc. We have so many opportunities to serve God, each other, and those who still need Jesus!

LET US PRAY
LORD JESUS HELP ME TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT AND WHAT YOU ASSIGN ME FAITHFULLY IN JESUS NAME

Popular Pastor Caught With Gun During Police Stop and Search

The Commandant-general of Mission for African Chaplaincy, a Christian organisation in Lokoja, Kogi State, Sam Keddy Balogun, has been arrested by the police for illegally possessing a firearm.

The pastor was arrested along with his bodyguard with a Toyota Hilux van painted in military colour, which registration number was concealed. The police said it was being used to hoodwink unsuspecting members of the public into believing that the organisation is a paramilitary organisation recognised by law.
Parading both men before journalist at the police headquarters in Lokoja, the Kogi State police commissioner, Seidu Madawaki said his men also arrested one Saliu Mohammed who claims to be Pastor Balogun’s bodyguard with a short gun.
The commissioner said Saliu confessed that the pistol was given to him by his boss who he said, was the commandant general of the Mission for African Chaplaincy.
He said a search was conducted on the house and two cartridges were recovered with one other already expended...
It was gathered that at public functions in the state, members of the organisation kit up like military personnel and usurp the functions of security agencies and harass innocent citizens with their military camouflage.

CP Madawaki said when police detectives led the suspect to his boss’ house; the boss admitted that he was the one who gave the gun to Mohammed to be protecting him with. Other items recovered in his house were detectives’ gadgets and some paramilitary uniforms.

The commissioner said the painting of their vehicle in military colour and the concealing of the number plate portray an intent for criminality, adding that the activities of the chaplaincy had constituted a threat to the state as thousands of people including the jobless and civil servants had been brainwashed to join the organisation as a paramilitary organisation in the country.

In his confession, Pastor Balogun said he acquired the guns illegally and begged with the police to forgive him. He claims he and his organisation has been organising series of prayer sessions for the police, the military and other security agencies. Funny man!

TOPIC: HOW CAN I BE SAVE ?

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: HOW CAN I BE SAVE ?

God Provided A Plan Of Salvation -
Now, we come to the crucial question. If God promised to save man, if He has the power to save him and if He has provided the means to save him,
how does one go about being saved? The answer is found in the verses we read this morning -
John 3:16-17 KJV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

The Bible tells us in no uncertain terms exactly what a person must do to be saved from their sins.
The answer is to believe on Him! This is explained to us in great detail in Romans 10:9-10 KJV
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

These verses tell us that to be saved, we must acknowledge the claims of Christ and that we must transfer our faith from works, religions, self-effort, self-righteousness, whatever it may that we are trusting in and trust Jesus and Him alone for our soul's salvation.

Salvation is simple -
Acts 16:31 KJV
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Romans 10:13 KJV
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
but man wants to complicate the issue of salvation. The best thing we can do is to simply take God at His Word and accept salvation as what it is: The gift of God, Romans 6:23 KJV
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Maybe there is someone here this morning and you have been plagued with doubts about salvation. Maybe there are those who know that they are not saved. But, today, the Holy Spirit has spoken to your heart and you are ready to come to the Lord. God is calling and you know what you need. You may be asking. "Can God really save my soul?" I invite you to find out for yourselves that God can! You know your heart and all I ask you to do today is to listen to the call of the Spirit of God in your soul. If you need something from the Lord this morning, I challenge you to come get it right now. Will you mind the Lord today?

LET US PRAY
LORD JESUS, PLEASE FORGIVE MY SINS, I ACCEPT YOU AS MY SAVIOUR, HELP ME TO BE MORE CLOSER TO YOU AND TO RUN THE RACE OF THE KINGDOM DAILY IN ALL FAITHFULNESS IN JESUS NAME

And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. [2] And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. [3] And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, [4] As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. [11] And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you. [12] And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed. [13] He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
