TOPIC: BASTARD CHILD

TEXT: Hebrews 12:5-8 KJV
And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: [6] For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. [7] If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? [8] But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

This morning friends I have question to ask which I want you all to answer.
ARE YOU A BASTARD CHILD OF GOD ?

Though it sound funny but it meaningful, and I know all of us will say will are legitimate child of God, but the only way to know this rightly is what am discussing this morning.

How to know if you are legitimate child of God is by accepting your fault and take correction from God and faithfully served discipline which God will give you.
Job 36:10 KJV
He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.

It is a pity today to see a lots of so call Gods children disobeying Gods order and wills for their life, in marriage, over work and on so many issues of life.
Romans 1:28, 32 KJV
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; [32] Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

If you are a child of God, you will listen to Gods order and take his correction with humbleness and all soberness, you will not like what God hate and will not hate what God like,

Brethren can you boldly say that, it is Gods will for you to be where you are, to get that which you have gotten or you are jus doing your own wish against the lords will for your life.

So many of us has been corrected by the lord on a particular thing (sin) but we refuse to go by the lords correction and discipline, instead we arrogantly cover up our sins and move on. No wonder we didn't prosper again. Proverbs 28:13 KJV
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercyb.

If you accept Gods discipline you are a child, if you disobey you are a bastard.

Job 36:11-12 KJV
If they obey and serve him , they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. [12] But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.
