TIME OF FAVOUR

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC:- TIME OF FAVOUR

Text: Psalms 5:12
For You; O Jehovah, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield.

- It is seen here that God is willing to bless the rightoeus and also protect him with the weapon of favour. When the favour of God is upon a man, he will be secured and protected against all oppositions and anti-favour moves of men.

- We can see this kind of favor operating in the life of Daniel. He and all the Israelites were prisoners in Babylon. For reasons that can't be explained naturally, though, he had favor with the leaders of the land.

"Now God had brought Daniel into favor and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs" (Dan. 1:9).

- In other accounts we learn that Daniel had so much favor with the leaders of the land, he was elevated to prestigious positions in the Babylonian kingdom. Even though the circumstances were stacked against him, Daniel eventually became the prime minister of Babylon.

This is a new week, a new month, the first day of the month. In the history of our greatest country Nigeria this is the first week of a new government under Buhari as the president. We all need the favour of God.

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD GOD OF HEAVEN IN THIS MONTH SHOWER US WITH YOUR FAVOUR. THIS WEEK, AND THIS YEAR IN EVERY AREA OF OUR LIFE IN JESUS NAME

Muhammadu Buhari "I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody" - Read President's inaugural speech

Muhammadu Buhari
"I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody" - Read President's inaugural speech
The new President saluted the the resolve of Nigerians who voted in spite of the rigours and shortcomings of the past election.

I am immensely grateful to God Who Has preserved us to witness this day and this occasion. Today marks a triumph for Nigeria and an occasion to celebrate her freedom and cherish her democracy. Nigerians have shown their commitment to democracy and are determined to entrench its culture. Our journey has not been easy but thanks to the determination of our people and strong support from friends abroad we have today a truly democratically elected government in place.

I would like to thank President Goodluck Jonathan for his display of statesmanship in setting a precedent for us that has now made our people proud to be Nigerians wherever they are. With the support and cooperation he has given to the transition process, he has made it possible for us to show the world that despite the perceived tension in the land we can be a united people capable of doing what is right for our nation. Together we co-operated to surprise the world that had come to expect only the worst from Nigeria. I hope this act of graciously accepting defeat by the outgoing President will become the standard of political conduct in the country.

I would like to thank the millions of our supporters who believed in us even when the cause seemed hopeless. I salute their resolve in waiting long hours in rain and hot sunshine to register and cast their votes and stay all night if necessary to protect and ensure their votes count and were counted. I thank those who tirelessly carried the campaign on the social media. At the same time, I thank our other countrymen and women who did not vote for us but contributed to make our democratic culture truly competitive, strong and definitive.
I thank all of you.

Having just a few minutes ago sworn on the Holy Book, I intend to keep my oath and serve as President to all Nigerians.

I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody.

A few people have privately voiced fears that on coming back to office I shall go after them. These fears are groundless. There will be no paying off old scores. The past is prologue.

Our neighbours in the Sub-region and our African brethenen should rest assured that Nigeria under our administration will be ready to play any leadership role that Africa expects of it. Here I would like to thank the governments and people of Cameroon, Chad and Niger for committing their armed forces to fight Boko Haram in Nigeria.

I also wish to assure the wider international community of our readiness to cooperate and help to combat threats of cross-border terrorism, sea piracy, refugees and boat people, financial crime, cyber crime, climate change, the spread of communicable diseases and other challenges of the 21st century.

At home we face enormous challenges. Insecurity, pervasive corruption, the hitherto unending and seemingly impossible fuel and power shortages are the immediate concerns. We are going to tackle them head on. Nigerians will not regret that they have entrusted national responsibility to us. We must not succumb to hopelessness and defeatism. We can fix our problems.
In recent times Nigerian leaders appear to have misread our mission. Our founding fathers, Mr Herbert Macauley, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Alhaji Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Malam Aminu Kano, Chief J.S. Tarka, Mr Eyo Ita, Chief Denis Osadeby, Chief Ladoke Akintola and their colleagues worked to establish certain standards of governance. They might have differed in their methods or tactics or details, but they were united in establishing a viable and progressive country. Some of their successors behaved like spoilt children breaking everything and bringing disorder to the house.

Furthermore, we as Nigerians must remind ourselves that we are heirs to great civilizations: Shehu Othman Dan fodio’s caliphate, the Kanem Borno Empire, the Oyo Empire, the Benin Empire and King Jaja’s formidable domain. The blood of those great ancestors flow in our veins. What is now required is to build on these legacies, to modernize and uplift Nigeria.

Daunting as the task may be it is by no means insurmountable. There is now a national consensus that our chosen route to national development is democracy. To achieve our objectives we must consciously work the democratic system. The Federal Executive under my watch will not seek to encroach on the duties and functions of the Legislative and Judicial arms of government. The law enforcing authorities will be charged to operate within the Constitution. We shall rebuild and reform the public service to become more effective and more serviceable. We shall charge them to apply themselves with integrity to stabilize the system.
For their part the legislative arm must keep to their brief of making laws, carrying out over-sight functions and doing so expeditiously. The judicial system needs reform to cleanse itself from its immediate past. The country now expects the judiciary to act with dispatch on all cases especially on corruption, serious financial crimes or abuse of office. It is only when the three arms act constitutionally that government will be enabled to serve the country optimally and avoid the confusion all too often bedeviling governance today.

Elsewhere relations between Abuja and the States have to be clarified if we are to serve the country better. Constitutionally there are limits to powers of each of the three tiers of government but that should not mean the Federal Government should fold its arms and close its eyes to what is going on in the states and local governments. Not least the operations of the Local Government Joint Account. While the Federal Government can not interfere in the details of its operations it will ensure that the gross corruption at the local level is checked. As far as the constitution allows me I will try to ensure that there is responsible and accountable governance at all levels of government in the country. For I will not have kept my own trust with the Nigerian people if I allow others abuse theirs under my watch.

However, no matter how well organized the governments of the federation are they can not succeed without the support, understanding and cooperation of labour unions, organized private sector, the press and civil society organizations. I appeal to employers and workers alike to unite in raising productivity so that everybody will have the opportunity to share in increased prosperity. The Nigerian press is the most vibrant in Africa. My appeal to the media today – and this includes the social media – is to exercise its considerable powers with responsibility and patriotism.
My appeal for unity is predicated on the seriousness of the legacy we are getting into. With depleted foreign reserves, falling oil prices, leakages and debts the Nigerian economy is in deep trouble and will require careful management to bring it round and to tackle the immediate challenges confronting us, namely; Boko Haram, the Niger Delta situation, the power shortages and unemployment especially among young people. For the longer term we have to improve the standards of our education. We have to look at the whole field of medicare. We have to upgrade our dilapidated physical infrastructure.

The most immediate is Boko Haram’s insurgency. Progress has been made in recent weeks by our security forces but victory can not be achieved by basing the Command and Control Centre in Abuja. The command centre will be relocated to Maiduguri and remain until Boko Haram is completely subdued. But we can not claim to have defeated Boko Haram without rescuing the Chibok girls and all other innocent persons held hostage by insurgents.

This government will do all it can to rescue them alive. Boko Haram is a typical example of small fires causing large fires. An eccentric and unorthodox preacher with a tiny following was given posthumous fame and following by his extra judicial murder at the hands of the police. Since then through official bungling, negligence, complacency or collusion Boko Haram became a terrifying force taking tens of thousands of lives and capturing several towns and villages covering swathes of Nigerian sovereign territory.
Boko Haram is a mindless, godless group who are as far away from Islam as one can think of. At the end of the hostilities when the group is subdued the Government intends to commission a sociological study to determine its origins, remote and immediate causes of the movement, its sponsors, the international connexions to ensure that measures are taken to prevent a reccurrence of this evil. For now the Armed Forces will be fully charged with prosecuting the fight against Boko haram. We shall overhaul the rules of engagement to avoid human rights violations in operations. We shall improve operational and legal mechanisms so that disciplinary steps are taken against proven human right violations by the Armed Forces.

Boko Haram is not only the security issue bedeviling our country. The spate of kidnappings, armed robberies, herdsmen/farmers clashes, cattle rustlings all help to add to the general air of insecurity in our land. We are going to erect and maintain an efficient, disciplined people – friendly and well – compensated security forces within an over – all security architecture.

The amnesty programme in the Niger Delta is due to end in December, but the Government intends to invest heavily in the projects, and programmes currently in place. I call on the leadership and people in these areas to cooperate with the State and Federal Government in the rehabilitation programmes which will be streamlined and made more effective. As ever, I am ready to listen to grievances of my fellow Nigerians. I extend my hand of fellowship to them so that we can bring peace and build prosperity for our people.
No single cause can be identified to explain Nigerian’s poor economic performance over the years than the power situation. It is a national shame that an economy of 180 million generates only 4,000MW, and distributes even less. Continuous tinkering with the structures of power supply and distribution and close on $20b expanded since 1999 have only brought darkness, frustration, misery, and resignation among Nigerians. We will not allow this to go on. Careful studies are under way during this transition to identify the quickest, safest and most cost-effective way to bring light and relief to Nigerians.

Unemployment, notably youth un-employment features strongly in our Party’s Manifesto. We intend to attack the problem frontally through revival of agriculture, solid minerals mining as well as credits to small and medium size businesses to kick – start these enterprises. We shall quickly examine the best way to revive major industries and accelerate the revival and development of our railways, roads and general infrastructure.

Your Excellencies, My fellow Nigerians I can not recall when Nigeria enjoyed so much goodwill abroad as now. The messages I received from East and West, from powerful and small countries are indicative of international expectations on us. At home the newly elected government is basking in a reservoir of goodwill and high expectations. Nigeria therefore has a window of opportunity to fulfill our long – standing potential of pulling ourselves together and realizing our mission as a great nation.
Our situation somehow reminds one of a passage in Shakespeare’s Julius Ceasar

There is a tide in the affairs of men which,

taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;

Omitted, all the voyage of their life,

Is bound in shallows and miseries.

We have an opportunity. Let us take it.

Thank you.

HOLINESS IS NOT LEGALISM.

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: HOLINESS IS NOT LEGALISM.

Without holiness no man shall see the Lord." Nothing under heaven can be more sure than this; "for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it." And "though heaven and earth pass away, yet His word shall not pass away." As well therefore might God fall from heaven, as His Word fall to the ground. (Heb. 12:14; Mic. 4:4; Matt. 5:18).

No one who is not saved from sin here can be saved from hell hereafter. No one can see the kingdom of God above, unless the kingdom of God be in him below. Whoever will reign with Christ in heaven, must have Christ reigning in him on earth. And yet as sure as this is, and as clearly as it is taught in every part of the Holy Scripture, among all the truths of God, there is probably none which is less received by men.

Yes, professing Christians invariably invent one way or another to get to heaven without holiness. In the place of holiness, some have substituted penance, pilgrimages, and praying to saints and angels. Thousand of professing Christians have no doubt but that, by a diligent use of these things—without any holiness at all—they shall see the Lord in glory.

However, Protestants will not be satisfied in that manner. They are convinced that whoever leans on such things leans on the staff of a broken reed. Yet, thousands of such Protestants also think that they too will see God without holiness. How? Why, by doing no harm, generally doing good, going to church, and receiving the sacraments. And many thousands are content with this, believing they are on the high road to heaven. Yet, that is not much better than the hopes of the first group.

However, other Protestants recognize that such nominal Christianity is not sufficient. They correctly say that such a religion does not stand on the right foundation. However, they go on to say that Christ has already accomplished and suffered everything for us. They say that His righteousness is imputed to us; therefore, we need none of our own. Since there is so much righteousness and holiness in Him, there needs to be none in us. In fact, they claim, that to think we have any holiness, or to desire to seek any holiness, is to renounce Christ. That from the beginning to the end of salvation, all is in Christ, nothing is in man. And that those who teach otherwise are preachers of legalism, and know nothing of the gospel.

What evasion! What has Satan done? He has persuaded the very men who receive it to "turn the grace of God into licentiousness" (Jude 4). This is indeed a blow at the root, the root of all holiness, all true religion. The whole design of Christ's death was "to destroy the works of the devil" (I John 3:8). But now this is overthrown in one stroke.
Brethren holiness is holiness without it, no man can see God.

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME, LET YOUR TRUTH BE RICH IN US THAT SATANIC TEACHING AROUND US IN JESUS NAME

PURSUING HOLINESS

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: pursuing Holiness

TEXT:I Peter 1:3-16

"But, as He who hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of life. Because it is written, Be he holy; for I am holy" (I Peter 15-16)

It is my conviction, and I believe it is well-founded, that not much is mentioned in our churches today about the biblical subject of Christian holiness.

Holy living is not one of our favorite themes when it comes to preaching. Today it seems that everybody wants to be happy, but very few people desire to be holy.

And there is a difference! Happiness is what we are on the outside, but holiness is who we are on the inside.

Let's admit it: Holiness is a beautiful thing to observe. David the Psalmist declared that we are to "Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness" (Psalms 29:2).

He not only declared it, but after his fall into terrible sin David passionately desired it. Listen to his prayerful cry: "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me" (Psalms 51:10).

Now such beauty of holiness comes from Christ. And we as believers are to be progressively becoming Christlike in everything we do. The Apostle Paul speaks of it in these words: "And all of us...can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like Him and reflect His glory ever more"
(II Corinthians 3:18, NLT).

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD JESUS, MAKE US TO BE THE REFLECTION OF YOUR HOLINESS IN JESUS NAME.

WHY HOLINESS?

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: WHY HOLINESS?

1 Pet 1:13–17
Text: I Pet. 1: 13-17

To prove that a Christian must live a faithful life in order to be well pleasing in the eyes of his Father.

Many people simply think that once one becomes a Christian, he can then live his life in any fashion that he so chooses.
Martin Luther is said to have made the statement that one who is saved and then goes back to his sinful lifestyle is to be compared to a person who takes a bath only to put his dirty clothes on afterwards.

Many today have a false idea of the grace of God; thus, they think that they have a license to sin.

NOTE. Some will attempt to eliminate obedience of man’s part in order to access the grace of God.

Grace is not a license to sin (Rom. 6: 1-2).

We will examine points on how and why a Christian must live a holy life:

I. The cause for one to be holy
(I Pet. 1: 15-17).

A. We have been called by a Holy Father.

1. The word holy is from the Greek word “akios,” and it means “set apart for God, to be, as it were, exclusively his.” (Thayer, 7)

2. God of course is set apart, uniquely different from all others.

3. His children must be set apart and different from all others.

4. Christians are to be set apart in this world.

B. One will be judged by his works
(I Pet. 1: 17).

1. One will be judged by the way that he lives his life.

2. God demands that it be a holy life.

3. It is not left up to us to decide how we will live for Him It can only be according to His way and will if truly we are God's child.

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD JESUS CLOTH US WITH YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS AND MAKE US HOLY IN JESUS NAME.

BE YE HOLLY

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: BE YE HOLY

I Peter 1:15-16

This morning We're talking about being holy men and women
before God. In I Peter 1:15 and 16 the Lord's Word
says, "But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; (life) Because it is written, (and he repeated a commandment He gave
His people Israel as written in the Old Testament) Be ye holy; for I (the Lord thy God) am holy." (Leviticus
11:44)

I am convinced that the great problem facing us today in our
inability to reach people as we should, is the fact of sin.

I do not believe that we can look at all that we see on television, and read what we're reading in
magazines and everywhere else, without being defiled by sin.

Sin is darting at us constantly. I believe with all my soul that we're not realizing, as people of God, how much the sin within us and around is killing the power of God in our lives, and that God is speaking to us as never before, to be holy men and women.

The fact is, we Christians, we preachers are under surveillance.
The world is watching our behavior.
Unsaved people judge what God is by the behavior of those who are His people. That's exactly the meaning of this, "in all
manner of conversation, (that is in every area of your life) "Be ye holy." In your behavior, as they see your
actions and hear your speech be holy because people are watching you.

They don't see our thoughts, our
inner being, but they do see our outer acts and hear the words we speak. So the Lord said, "Be ye holy in all manner of conversation; (life) Because it is written, (in the Old Testament Scriptures and God is
saying to us in the New Testament) Be ye holy: for I (the Lord thy God) am holy. "

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD JESUS, CLEAN US FROM ALL SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL DIRTINESS AND MAKE US HOLY IN YOUR SIGHT IN JESUS NAME.

FREELY YE GIVE

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: FREELY YE GIVE

TEXT: Matthew 10:8 KJV
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

This is a commandment from Jesus to the disciples to go out and preach the gospel with power and perform miracles in his name,
after praying for them freely, he told them not to Sale it, not to Sale anointing, not to Sale miracle, not to Sale anything in the name of Gospel which they have receive freely from God.

What is happening in the Christianity today and in churches amaze me.
pastors and church member deceiving themselves thinking they are working for God, no wonder the Bible call them workers of iniquities. Matthew 7:23 KJV
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

There is nowhere in the scripture where Jesus told us to pay for our miracle or deliverance or anointing with money. Even the apostles has to rebuke a man who was trying to entice them with money.

Acts 8:18-20 KJV
And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, [19] Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. [20] But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

Brethren, the Bible says John 8:32 KJV
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Any person under the name MAN OF GOD who is asking money to give you anointing is not a true MAN OF GOD,
you may not agree with me but the scripture is clear.

Any man of God who God give freely will give you freely but those who got their power from Satan must surely earn their gain back. And thus they ask you for money, And those who open business center in the name of church will surely pursue how to get their profit back from you anyhow.

The faithful ministers who are genuinely called by God never seek after earthly gain they trained soul for the kingdom. They are passionate about how to populate God's Kingdom, their goes is to help the dying soul, sacrifice for them even at their own expenses for the sake of the kingdom. And God blessed them according to his riches in glory.

Galatians 6:7 KJV
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD JESUS LET YOUR TRUTH SET US FREE IN JESUS NAME.

Taming Your Tongue

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC :Taming Your Tongue

Psalm 10:7
The tongue reveals our wickedness. “His mouth is full of curses and deceit and oppression; under his tongue is mischief and wickedness.”

There are at least 5 different descriptive words and phrases about the corruption of the tongue here:

1) “full of curses”: this doesn’t just mean “swear words” but speaking evil for/about others. Gossip and slander might be included here.

2) “deceit”: this means lying, or half-truths. Keil & Delitzsch describe it as “deceit and craft of any kind.” This could mean sharing deceitful things about ourselves — making ourselves look better than we really are; or spreading lies, or half-truths, or slanted information about other people.

3) “oppression”: This is using your words to ‘beat people down’. You may not harm another person physically, buy you can do just as bad or worse with your words. The old adage: “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me” is wrong! You can harm and abuse others with your words.

4) “mischief”: the Hebrew word here literally means “trouble.” Sometimes we enjoy causing trouble for other people with our words; that is what this word refers to. I’ve seen people take a sinister kind of “delight” in getting other people in trouble. Some of us know that we have done that very thing, too.

5) “wickedness”. This word is used in Proverbs 19:28, where it says “the mouth of the wicked spreads iniquity.” So these “wicked” words are words, according to Proverbs, which may be “spread” — sounds like gossip, of which virtually everyone here must admit that we have been guilty.

All of these are ways in which we can sin with our words, and they are very common. In fact, sinning with what we say is one of the most common sins — even among Christians.

James 3 says:
“For we all stumble in many ways; if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body as well.” But unfortunately, he says, none of us DO that. He goes on to say “but no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse man, who was made in the image of God.”

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD JESUS, HELP US TO KEEP AND WATCH YOURSELF FROM SINNING WITH OUR TONGUE IN JESUS NAME

Taking Things For Granted

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Taking Things For Granted

This is what many so-called “righteous” church people fall into: “He says to Himself, ‘I shall not be moved; throughout all generations I shall not be in adversity.’” This is the proud, arrogant, wicked man that we all despise.

He thinks that nothing is going to happen to HIM: “I shall not be moved … I shall not be in adversity.” Other people may suffer, but HE is not going to! This person takes for granted that suffering and difficulty is only for others — nothing is going to happen to him!

This is just what God condemned in Isaiah 56:12; that there were those who said, “tomorrow will be like today, only more so.” It is a proud and arrogant attitude; nothing is going to happen to US — maybe someone else, but not US.

This is ungodly pride. Who are we that we should avoid all trouble? Of course we are subject to the frailties and difficulties of all flesh. We are foolish if we do not think that we are.

So often we presume on tomorrow, and what we will have, and be able to do.
Again, I will admit to having done this myself.
I had just not envisioned those things even as a possibility. And yet it was. Maybe I didn’t say it consciously, but subconsciously I was thinking, “tomorrow will be like today, only more so.” But it wasn’t.

And so often it is that way. We think that things will always stay the same as they are now — but they rarely do. We should put on a heart of wisdom, and of humility, and recognize that we are subject to the same frailties that everyone else is.

Brethren don't get me wrong, the attitude espoused in this verse sounds like some of the “word faith” people: just say “I shall not be moved; I shall not be in adversity” and you won’t! Just believe God will prosper you. But it is also very presumptuous — and very wrong.)

So much of the borrowing that people do stems from this very attitude: we borrow for homes and cars and other things, assuming that we are always going to have the same job, the same health, the same income, the same circumstances that we do now. But how often, in reality, does that presupposition turn out to be false? Tomorrow is NOT “like today only more so”;
there are all kinds of unforeseen things that happen. We need to stop this attitude of presumption. Instead, we should heed God’s words in James 4:13-17:

“Come now, you who say, ‘today and tomorrow we will go to such and such a city and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.’ Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.’ But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil. Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do, and does not do it, to him it is sin.”

LET US PRAY
IN JESUS NAME, LORD JESUS HELP US TO DAILY TAKE UP OUR CHALLENGES AND DO WHAT IS RIGHT.

SIGNS OF WICKEDNESS

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

Topic: SIGNS OF WICKEDNESS

NOT Seeking God

This is the first “surprising sign of wickedness”: NOT SEEKING GOD.
A person might be surprised at this; I don’t think most of us would put that at the top of a “Top 10 List” of wicked sins. We’d think of things like murder, adultery, abortion, homosexuality, etc., instead.
But think about it: God is by far and away the single most important Being in the universe.

Our whole existence is to revolve around Him. Jesus told us that THE Great Commandment is to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. In light of that, what could be more wicked than neglecting God by not seeking Him?

Romans 3 is famous for verse 23 which says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” And the greatest part of the chapter describes in detail the depravity of all mankind.
It says: “There is none righteous, there is not even one. There is none who understands, there is none who SEEKS for God.”

A lack of seeking God is right at the heart of the Bible’s condemnation of human wickedness.

P.T. Forsythe once said: “The greatest sin is prayerlessness.” It is the height of haughtiness to walk out into a day without praying and seeking God in His word — as if you did not need Him! And yet that is exactly what many of us do! It is absolutely wicked!

Now, Psalm 10 tells us something about WHY that is true. It says that the wicked person says in his heart: ‘there is no God.’”

The wicked does not seek God, because he doesn’t believe in Him. That just makes sense; they don’t seek Him because they don’t believe in Him. This teaches us that one of the sure signs of disbelief is NOT seeking God.

Are you going to seek him this week this month? If you seek him you will find him. Amen

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD JESUS CHRIST TURN US FROM OUR WICKED WAY TO YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS IN JESUS NAME

PRACTICAL SUGGESTIONS FOR OVERCOMING SIN OF GOSSIP.

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: PRACTICAL SUGGESTIONS FOR OVERCOMING SIN OF GOSSIP.

A. If you can't say something good about someone, say nothing (Rom. 12:10).

B. Keep private matters private (Prov. 11:13; 25:9-10).

C. Watch out for places & situations where gossip is likely to happen. (Friends ... family dinner table ... Life-Support Groups where you're "sharing concerns" ... group after church in home/restaurant).

D. Do not allow gossip to go unchallenged. (Various approaches)

1. Constructive: "Now, how can we help this person?"
2. Subtle: Smile sweetly & say, "I'm feeling very uncomfortable with this conversation."
3. Matt. 18:15: "Have you gone to speak with this person privately?"
4. Concerned: "If njokwu knew we were talking about them like this they'd be real hurt!"

E. When talking about others, always ask yourself the question, "Am I gossiping?"

1. Are you talking about ways to help this person ... or just talking?
2. Is this person being lifted up or torn down as we talk?
3. Would I be comfortable if this person were to walk in on our conversation? Would I stop talking?
(Chinese proverb: "Speak only well of people and you need never whisper.")

Note friends
1. There are going to be times when we will have to speak about someone who is not present.

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD JESUS
help us to always speak of that person in the best possible light. And put a watch on all of our tongues so we may avoid the sin of gossip.

The Sin Of Gossip

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: The Sin Of Gossip

A Christian does not talk about the private affairs of others.

You and I don't take the sin of gossip as seriously as we ought.
We would if we understood it better. Seems like a small sin when compared to others.
It is not a small sin to God ( Rom. 1:28-32).

WHAT IS GOSSIP?

1. Random House College Dictionary: "Idle talk or rumor, esp. about the personal or private affairs of others."

I think most of us know what we're talking about.
Talk about a person (true or not!) showing them in a less than positive light!

2. There are times, of course, when truth about others, however harsh, must be shared with third parties.
Those times are few and far between.
We should always exercise great care in talking to someone else about a person who is not present.

Here's the key for getting a handle on gossip--it is information about another person TRUE or NOT, showing them in a less than positive light.

Hebrew word for "slander" simply means "bad report."

It's what Joseph did to his brothers (Gen. 37:2).
There was a law against this sort of thing in Israel Leviticus 19:16 KJV
Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the Lord .

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Text: Mark 16:17.

“And These Signs Will Follow Those Who Believe: In My Name They Will Cast Out Demons; They Will Speak With New Tongues”

According To The Text, The Very First Thing Jesus Said Deliverance Will Do Is To Cast Out Demons.
As Children Of God, We Are To Cast Demons Out Not Tolerate Or Fear Them!

In Acts 16:16-18, Paul And Silas Came Across A Girl Who Was Possessed With The Spirit Of Divination… She Who Followed Them About For Many Days Saying They Were Servants Of God But One Day, Paul Got Tired Of It And Commanded The Spirit To Come Out Of Her And The Bible Records That The Same Hour, The Spirit Came Out Of The Young Girl.

From This Story We See That If You Tolerate Trouble, You Will Keep Having Troubles And As Long As You Have Agreed To Tolerate Demons, They Will Keep On Troubling You! There Are Many Of Us Who Are Nowhere Near Where God Wants Us To Be Because There Are Forces Fighting Against Our Lives, Health, Finances And Destiny.

Today You Are Going To Tell The Devil And His Agents, Enough Is Enough! It is the midweek, you must end this week with a wonderful testimony of joy breakthrough, achievement and deliverance.

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME. I PUT AN END TO EVERY SATANIC MANIPULATION IN YOUR WORKS AND DESTINY IN JESUS NAME.

GODS WILL TO DELIVER

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: GODS WILL TO DELIVER

TEXT: Psalms 34:19 Many [are] the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

There are two promises in this verse. We can expect to be afflicted if we want to be men and women of God.
You are going to be where everything that is happening will test your strength.

The righteous will be afflicted but the lord delivers him out of them all.

Three times in this chapter we find this deliverance. In verse 4, deliverance from fear, in verse 17, deliverance from troubles, and in verse 19, deliverance from all afflictions.

What an encouraging promise, we live in midst of a world that is full of problems, and these problems cause us heavy burdens, but God is able to deliver us from them.

As you go on this week may God deliver you from all affection and make you victorious in Jesus name. Don't be afraid of what you are passing through believe all shall be well. Amen

LET US PRAY
LORD JESUS LET YOUR DELIVERANCE POWER TOUCHES OUR LIVES IN JESUS NAME

Sin

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: SIN

Types of Sin

A. A violation of one conscience (Rom. 14:23)

B. A failure to include God in ones plans (James 4:17)

C. A breaking of Gods law (1 John 4:3)

D. A failure to obey Gods law (1 John 5:17)

Process of Sin (James 1:13-15)

A. Temptation
1. Lust of the flesh
2. Lust of the eyes
3. Pride of life (1 John 2:15-17)
B. Action
C. Condemnation

Results of Sin

A. Studies have shown that it takes very little current to kill. Even a small amount of current can paralyze your muscles, and you won't be able to let go. Just a fraction more and your heart muscle can become paralyzed.

B. In Genesis 3, we see what sin brought about:
1. Guilt (v. 8)
2. Fear (v. 10)
3. Shame (v. 7)
4. Death (v. 16)
5. Separation (v. 23)
6. Subjection (v. 16)
7. Sorrow (v. 16)
8. Servile toil (vv. 17-19)

C. Because of sin, man has taken:
The deity out of religion
The supernatural out of Christianity

The authority out of the Bible
God out of education

Morality and virtue our of literature

Beauty and truth out of art
Ethics out of business
Fidelity out of marriage.

Me and you can retrace our steps back to Christ in humbleness of heart and confess our sins to him 1 John 1:8-9 KJV
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD JESUS CHRIST. CLOTH US WITH YOUR RIGTHEOUSNESS AND GIVE POWER TO DAILY OVERCOME SIN. AMEN

WHAT IS SIN

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: What is Sin?

I. Definition of Sin

A. Augustine said: Sin is believing the lie that you are self-created, self-dependent, and self-sustained.

B. Regarding sin, one observed:
Man calls it an accident, God calls it an abomination

Man calls it a blunder, God calls it a blindness

Man calls it a defect, God calls it a disease

Man calls it chance, God calls it a choice

Man calls it an error, God calls it enmity

Man calls it fascination, God calls it fatality

Man calls it an infirmity, God calls it iniquity

Man calls it luxury, God calls it leprosy

Man calls it liberty, God calls it lawlessness

Man calls it a trifle, God calls it a tragedy

Man calls it a mistake, God calls it madness

Man calls it a weakness, God calls it willfulness

The Bible definition of sin:
1. Old Testament words for sin
a. transgression, rebellion (Exod. 34:7; Psa. 32:1, 2)

b. that which is twisted or crooked (Psa. 51: 2, 5)

2. New Testament words for sin
a. to miss the mark (Rom. 3:23; Eph. 4:26)

b. transgressing or overpassing a line (Rom. 4:15; Gal. 3:19)

REASON TO BE HAPPY

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: REASON TO BE HAPPY

Mark 10:49 KJV
And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.

We have many reasons to be happy ---
We have his pardon.
We have his power.
We have his presence.
We have his peace.
We have his promise.

There is one more "BE OF GOOD CHEER" in the New Testament.
It is given by man and not by the Lord.
The passage is found in Mark 10:48 ff.
Blind Bartimaeus calls on the Lord for mercy.
Jesus responds to his call for help.
The crowd said to Bartimaeus, "BE OF GOOD CHEER, rise, he
calleth thee".

Be happy - There is a message to give and a message to
receive.

Be Happy He is calling for you today.
You too take this word into your down casted soul today friend, Jesus is calling you daily to bring your burden and follow Him. Whatever you are passing through, be of Good cheer Jesus is calling you.

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME. TAKE AWAY EVERY OF OUR HARDSHIP AND CLOTH US WITH JOY IN JESUS NAME.

Be of Good Cheer

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

Topic Be of Good Cheer

TEXT - Matt. 9: 1 - 22

In our text we find a statement mentioned twice. Here are two
of the five times Jesus mentions it. They are found in
Matt.9:2 and in Matt. 9:22 (in the Greek). The statement is
"BE OF GOOD CHEER"

God is saying," BE HAPPY!" It is in the imperative mood.
That means it is a command of God to be happy.
We ought to be happy anyway because of all that God has given us. It is part of our heritage.

Why didn't Gods people have the joy of the Lord in their
lives?
There are several reasons.

1st - Satan is against it.

2nd - Sin blocks the joy of the Lord - See Psa.51:12

JOY IS "J" for Jesus, "Y" for you, and "O" for Nothing
in between. JOY and SIN cannot occupy the same heart.

3rd - A lack of faith hinders joy. - Heb.11:6

4th - Prayerlessness - James 4:4 Phil.4:4-7 ties joy to prayer.

As you go out today and this week watch out for this things mention above, don't let them take your joy away.

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME. BREAK EVERY SATANIC CHAINS OF SADNESS AND SORROW IN OUR LIFE IN JESUS NAME.

SPEECH

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

Topic: SPEECH

Fill Your Mouth With Life, Not Death

A lot is at stake in what we say today.

TEXT“Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21).

In literate societies, tongues include hands that write, type, paint, or sign.

Words Cause Death

People die because of something said. Tongues can be weapons of mass destruction, launching holocausts and wars. Tongues can also be the death of marriages, families, friendships, churches, careers, hopes, understanding, reputations, missionary efforts, and governments.

Words Give Life

But people also live because of something said. The tongue can be “a tree of life” (Proverbs 15:4). Tongues reconcile peoples and make peace. “Blessed are the peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9).

Tongues can make marriages sweet, families strong, and churches healthy. Tongues can give hope to the despairing, advance understanding, and spread the gospel.

So what will come out of your mouth today, death or life? “Sword thrusts” or “healing” (Proverbs 12:18)?

What Fills Your Heart?

It will all depend on what’s filling your heart. Jesus said, “. . . out of the abundance of the heart [the] mouth speaks” (Luke 6:45).

A critical heart produces a critical tongue. A self-righteous heart produces a judgmental tongue. A bitter heart produces an acerbic tongue. An ungrateful heart produces a grumbling tongue.

But a loving heart produces a gracious tongue. A faithful heart produces a truthful tongue. A peaceful heart produces a reconciling tongue. A trusting heart produces an encouraging tongue.

So fill your heart with grace by soaking in your Bible. Soak in Matthew 5, or Romans 12, or 1 Corinthians 13, or Philippians 2.

Please brethren be very careful taking in the words of death in the newspaper, on the radio, the TV, Facebook twitter or the blog. Etc

LET US PRAY
LORD JESUS TOUCH MY TONGUE AND MAKE IT PRODUCES LIFE AND NOT DEATH IN JESUS NAME.
