IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL
TOPIC: BE YE HOLY
I Peter 1:15-16
This morning We're talking about being holy men and women
before God. In I Peter 1:15 and 16 the Lord's Word
says, "But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; (life) Because it is written, (and he repeated a commandment He gave
His people Israel as written in the Old Testament) Be ye holy; for I (the Lord thy God) am holy." (Leviticus
11:44)
I am convinced that the great problem facing us today in our
inability to reach people as we should, is the fact of sin.
I do not believe that we can look at all that we see on television, and read what we're reading in
magazines and everywhere else, without being defiled by sin.
Sin is darting at us constantly. I believe with all my soul that we're not realizing, as people of God, how much the sin within us and around is killing the power of God in our lives, and that God is speaking to us as never before, to be holy men and women.
The fact is, we Christians, we preachers are under surveillance.
The world is watching our behavior.
Unsaved people judge what God is by the behavior of those who are His people. That's exactly the meaning of this, "in all
manner of conversation, (that is in every area of your life) "Be ye holy." In your behavior, as they see your
actions and hear your speech be holy because people are watching you.
They don't see our thoughts, our
inner being, but they do see our outer acts and hear the words we speak. So the Lord said, "Be ye holy in all manner of conversation; (life) Because it is written, (in the Old Testament Scriptures and God is
saying to us in the New Testament) Be ye holy: for I (the Lord thy God) am holy. "
LET US PRAY
DEAR LORD JESUS, CLEAN US FROM ALL SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL DIRTINESS AND MAKE US HOLY IN YOUR SIGHT IN JESUS NAME.
