TOPIC: EXTRA OIL

Matthew 25:6 - "At midnight the cry rang out, Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him."

The bridegroom comes at Midnight. The darkest depths of the long night: in the middle of the night. I believe that the second coming of Jesus will come during the darkest period of this earth. I believe we're in for that. In fact you can see it coming with all the terrible things that are going on out there in the world.

It's a mess out there. When crime, drugs, immorality, sin and wickedness are at their peak, the end of all things crashes down upon us. The wicked fall like grain before a hailstorm.

We can see the beast about to take power. In the hour of spiritual darkness Jesus will come.

Matt 25:7-8 "Then all the virgins woke up (at the midnight cry) and trimmed their lamps." They needed to replenish their lamps with oil. They needed to burn the midnight oil. You need to burn the midnight oil to be saved.

Now, can you find oil at midnight? How many of you have ever run out of gas? It is harder to find oil at midnight. All 10 virgins had run out of Oil in their torches. BUT, the wise had spare reserves of oil. Like a spare tire filled with air pressure, they had a reserve vessel filled up with extra oil.

What is that extra oil? It's an extra measure of the presence of God in your life. A depth of religion that is not seen in these times. And that's what we need. It's going to carry us through. We need to be a people of the book.

FATHER IN JESUS NAME, DON'T LET ME RUN OUT OF YOUR OIL IN ME TILL THE KINGDOM COME.
