It can also remove stains in household items such as furniture and lipstick stains. You can also use petroleum jelly for beauty purposes. Who doesn’t love a handy and multipurpose product? You can carry a small container of petroleum jelly anywhere you can go. This product can give you more than what you paid for.

There are so many beauty uses for petroleum jelly. We decided to create a list of the beauty uses of this multi use jelly. Read below to know more!

Rough Hands and Feet

Having dry and calloused hands can be embarrassing and painful. Pamper yourself and remove this by applying petroleum jelly on feet and hands at least twice a day. Massage this in for a few minutes and use an old toothbrush or pumice stone on cracked heels and rough skin. Brush it for a few minutes until the area softens. You can also apply a good amount of petroleum on your hands and feet and wrap them with a sock or glove before going to sleep. Do this a few times a week and you’ll notice a huge difference on your skin.

Chapped Lip

Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly on your lips throughout the day to hydrate chapped lips. Petroleum is great for protecting the lips from warm temperatures. It hydrates the lips and gives it a natural looking shine. You can also use petroleum to exfoliate the lips. Leave a good amount of petroleum on the lips for about one to two minutes, use clean toothbrush and brush the lips. This will remove dead skin on the lips and leave it pink and smooth.

Natural Glow

You can use petroleum jelly to add a natural dewy glow on the skin without making it appear to oily. Take a tiny amount of petroleum jelly and rub it between your fingertips. Dab it gently above your brow bone and cheek bone. This will make you look glowing and bright. Be careful to put only a tiny amount, too much will remove the makeup and make you look gooey.

Keep the Nail Clean

Not all of us opt to go to nail salons for our monthly or weekly manicure and pedicure. Like most people, we aren’t the best manicurist either. We tend to make mistakes and mess up our cuticle area, especially when we paint using our non-dominant hand. We can prevent creating a mess by applying a thin layer of petroleum jelly on the cuticle. Dip a cotton swab in petroleum jelly and swipe it along the cuticle near the nail. This will create a protective barrier on the skin. When you mess up your polish you can simply remove the excess using a clean towel.

Natural Tame Brows

Some of us prefer not to pluck our eyebrows and keep it as natural as possible. People with bushy eyebrows tend to have hairs that go different direction. You can prevent this by brushing the brows with petroleum jelly. Take a clean mascara brush and dip it in petroleum jelly. Brush the hair towards your ideal direction, this will keep your eyebrow tamed throughout the day. If you do this everyday, eventually the hair will adapt to the flow of the hair.

Glowing Legs

Applying a thin layer of petroleum jelly on the legs will help hydrate the skin and lock in moisture in it. You can also use it to exfoliate the skin and remove dark patches. Simply use a tablespoon of petroleum jelly and two tablespoons of sugar. Mix them together and rub on the skin during your bath or shower. Rinse the skin with cold water. Before going out, apply a thin layer of petroleum to make the legs appear glowing.

Split Ends

This won’t cure or remove split ends, but it can hide it and prevent further damage. Take a small amount of petroleum and rub it on the ends of your hair. This will lessen the appearance of split ends and prevent it from causing more damage.

Petroleum jelly is a mixture of semi solid hydrocarbons. This mixture was derived from petroleum, the same petroleum used in diesel fuel and gasoline. Petroleum jelly is safe for topical use and is usually used to maintain moisture on the skin. It is very handy and useful item to have. Keep a jar handy and make the most out of your petroleum jelly.
