Where Will Jesus Return?

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Where Will Jesus Return?

The Bible speaks of the Lord returning to the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. Some may ask, “Why not in New York, London, Los Angeles or Tokyo?” But God chose Jerusalem as the place of his return. Although Jerusalem is tiny among such cities, it is of the utmost importance to God. A brief history explains why.

Jerusalem was the place (originally called Moriah) where God told Abraham to sacrifice his only son, Isaac. But God stopped Abraham from sacrificing Isaac, instead providing a ram for him to offer. In fact, God had never intended Isaac to be sacrificed; he was testing Abraham’s faith, and giving us a symbolic picture of his only Son being sacrificed 2,000 years later in Jerusalem, near that very spot.

Solomon built the first Jewish Temple over the same spot where Abraham sacrificed the ram in place of Isaac. It was there that the Holy of Holies was located, the sacred room where God said his presence dwelt.

Five hundred years before Christ, it was prophesied that the Jews would be the occupants of Jerusalem when the Messiah arrives in the end times. However, when Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 A.D., a million of its inhabitants were killed, and the rest fled for their lives. Jerusalem’s long history as the central place of Jewish worship ceased to exist. Jews could only dream of its future restoration.

However, the Jews’ dreams that Jerusalem would one day be restored were based on God’s promise given through his prophet Ezekiel nearly 600 years before Christ. This prophecy speaks of the dispersion of the Jews to other nations due to their disobedience. It then tells that in the last days, God will send them back to their land from other nations. God said through his prophet: “For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land.”

For nearly 1900 years following its destruction by Roman armies, there was no nation of Israel, and Jerusalem was a “no-man’s land” under foreign occupation. Then, in the latter part of the 19th century, Jews began populating Palestine. After the Holocaust imposed by Hitler’s Nazis, Jews immigrated en masse to Israel.

On May 14, 1948, the Jews’ 2,000-year-old dream of the rebirth of Israel became a reality, as a United Nations charter granted them partial control of Jerusalem. However, within hours, five Arab armies along its borders vowed to destroy it. Tensions between Israel and its neighbors became explosive.

In 1967, Egyptian, Jordanian and Syrian armies surrounded Israel. Newspaper headlines read, “Egypt Vows to Destroy Israel.” Israel’s army seemed to be hopelessly outnumbered. But a surprise attack by Israel devastated its enemies in just six days. Many spoke of the Jews’ overwhelming victory as a miracle. After Israel’s lightning victory in the 1967 war, Jerusalem finally belonged to Israel, and the peace they had hoped for seemed within reach. Yet, the prophecy that Jerusalem would become a “burdensome stone” to the world has come true.

Israel’s miraculous rebirth has set the stage for the coming of the Messiah which requires the Jews to dwell in Jerusalem. Nearly six million Jews now live in the land God promised to Abraham. In one century, Israel has exploded from virtual non-existence into a nation that dominates the world’s headlines.

Has Jesus Kept other Promises?

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Has Jesus Kept other Promises?

Luke 21.

How do we answer scoffers such as Bertrand Russell who accused Jesus of breaking his promise to return?

First, we might ask how Jesus knew 2,000 years ago that the gospel would indeed be preached throughout the world. How could he have known that, unless he knew the future?

Second, we need to look at other promises Jesus made to see if they were kept. Let’s look at three other major things Jesus promised:

He is the fulfillment of messianic prophecies.[12]
Jerusalem would be destroyed.[13]
He would die and rise again three days later.

Did Jesus Fulfill Ancient Prophecies?

Let’s look at whether or not Jesus fulfilled Old Testament messianic prophecies.

The Bible is the only holy book that contains a large body of specific prophecies relating to nations, Israel and the coming Messiah. Nearly 300 references were made in the Old Testament about the coming Messiah. They told of his lineage, his birthplace, his betrayal, his death, and his resurrection. These references were written 500 to 1,000 years before Jesus was born, and he fulfilled every one.

Evidence from the Dead Sea Scrolls proves the prophecies were written at least 100 years before Christ, making it impossible for them to have been staged. The odds that one person could fulfill each of these prophecies without error are statistically impossible. Jesus’ fulfillment of so many specific prophecies is compelling evidence that he truly was the promised Messiah

Was Jesus Right about Jerusalem?

Second, let’s examine Jesus’ prophecy of Jerusalem’s impending destruction, a prediction that seemed impossible at the time, and shocked those who heard it. Jesus warned the Jews that their rejection of him would result in a horrible ending for Jerusalem and for the destruction of its magnificent Temple.

Tragically, Jesus’ words came true. One million Jews were killed forty years later as Titus and the Roman army destroyed Jerusalem. The Jewish historian, Josephus, recorded these unusual signs during Jerusalem’s fall in 70 A.D.

“A meteor, resembling a sword, hung over Jerusalem one whole year.”
“A light equal to the brightness of the day, continued for half an hour.”
“Chariots and armed men were seen in the air”
Josephus writes of other unusual things that occurred during the Roman siege as well. What did these signs mean? Some scholars believe Jesus’ return in the clouds was fulfilled figuratively by these signs in 70 A.D. However, the actual fulfillment of Jesus’ literal return to Jerusalem has not yet occurred.

Was Jesus Right about His Resurrection?

The third significant prediction Jesus made was that he would rise from the dead after being crucified. Of that claim, Bible scholar Wilbur Smith argues:

When he said that He himself would rise again from the dead, the third day after He was crucified, He said something that only a fool would dare say, if He expected longer the devotion of any disciples—unless He was sure He was going to rise. No founder of any world religion known to men ever dared say a thing like that.

Jesus’ prediction put everything else he said in jeopardy. If he didn’t rise from the dead as promised, why would anyone continue believing him? Yet his followers enthusiastically did. In a New York Times article, Peter Steinfels cites the startling events that occurred three days after Jesus’ death:

Shortly after Jesus was executed, his followers were suddenly galvanized from a baffled and cowering group into people whose message about a living Jesus and a coming kingdom, preached at the risk of their lives, eventually changed an empire. Something happened. … But exactly what?

So, what did happen that turned the first century world on its heels? Is there evidence that Jesus did rise from the dead? Skeptic Frank Morrison originally began writing a book to disprove the resurrection. After examining the evidence, he reversed himself and wrote a different book on why he believed it to be true.

Another skeptic, Dr. Simon Greenleaf, founder of Harvard Law School, scoffed at Jesus’ resurrection to some law students. When challenged to investigate, Greenleaf began applying his famous rules of evidence to the case. After a detailed evaluation of the evidence, he became convinced that the resurrection really happened, primarily because of the radical change in the disciples

So, if Jesus fulfilled numerous messianic prophecies written hundreds of years before his birth, correctly predicted the fall of Jerusalem, and kept his incredible promise to rise from the dead as the evidence suggests, would any reasonable person doubt his promise to return?

LET US PRAY
YOU AND ME WILL NOT MISS HEAVEN, EVERY DOUBTING MIND IS CHANGE TO FAITH IN THE LORD JESUS IN JESUS NAME.

What are the Signs of Jesus Return?

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: What are the Signs of Jesus Return?

Luke 21:6-36

Major earthquakes
Worldwide famine
Wars
Worldwide epidemics
Persecution of believers
Gospel proclaimed worldwide

Earthquakes, famines, epidemics, and wars have occurred throughout human history, but Jesus said there would be a noticeable increase of such events prior to his return. Persecution of believers began with the apostles and is on the increase today. More Christians are being persecuted for their faith now than at any time in history. Jesus tells us that such persecution will continue until his return, as will the worldwide proclamation of the gospel.

According to Jesus, when all of these events capture the world scene, we are to “look up,” for his return will be soon. Although Bible scholars don’t agree on all the details regarding Jesus’ return, many believe that the time Jesus spoke of is rapidly approaching. Paul told believers to be ready and “watch for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

So we need to know if Jesus’ promise to return is still true. And if so, why is he delaying so long to fulfill his promise?

Peter explained the reason for Jesus’ delay.

But you should never lose sight of this fact, dear friends that time is not the same with the Lord as it is with us—to him a day may be a thousand years, and a thousand years only a day. The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.”2peter 3:8.

Peter was writing to believers who were experiencing trials and persecution. They wanted Jesus to come sooner rather than later. However, Peter tells them that God’s first priority is to spread the gospel of Christ throughout the world, reaching as many people as possible. Jesus had already told his disciples that the gospel would be preached to all nations before he came.

LET US PRAY
LORD JESUS CHRIST PREPARE US DAILY FOR YOUR RETURN AND HELP US TO REMAIN FAITHFUL TO THE END IN JESUS NAME. AMEN.

Will Jesus still come back?

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Will Jesus still Come Back?

Acts 1:11

Forty days after his resurrection, Jesus took his disciples to the Mount of Olives, where he was lifted up into the clouds out of their sight. While they were gazing up in bewilderment, two men in white apparel (angels) told them,

Men of Galilee, why are you standing here staring at the sky? Jesus has been taken away from you into heaven. And someday, just as you saw him go, he will return!

These angels weren’t saying anything new. They were merely confirming Jesus’ clear promise that he would return someday in power, glory and judgment.

Broken Promise?

It has been nearly 2,000 years since Jesus left earth, and many wonder why he has taken so long to return. In his book, Why I Am Not a Christian, atheist Bertrand Russell accused Jesus of breaking his promise to return.[3]
Russell argues that Jesus couldn’t have been “all wise” if he broke such an important promise. He certainly couldn’t have been God as he claimed so frequently.
So is it possible that Russell is right about Jesus breaking his promise?

The Apostle Peter predicted scoffers like Russell would point to Jesus’ delay as a broken promise. He writes,

First, I want to remind you that in the last days there will be scoffers who will laugh at the truth and do every evil thing they desire. This will be their argument: ‘Jesus promised to come back, did he? Then where is he? Why, as far back as anyone can remember, everything has remained exactly the same since the world was first created!
2peter 3:3-10

Perhaps Russell and other scoffers should have looked closer at Peter’s words, as well as what Jesus said about the timing of his return, and the events that would precede it. Jesus did say that, although no man would know the exact timing of his return, certain clues would tell us that it is drawing near.[5]

Additionally, the Old Testament prophets and Jesus’ apostles also provide insight about what the world scene will look like just prior to the return of Jesus Christ. This week we will look briefly at a few of these clues to the general timing of Jesus’
JESUS IS COMING BACK... 2 Peter 3:9 KJV

WHAT DIVINE FAVOR WILL DO FOR YOU.

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: WHAT DIVINE FAVOR WILL DO FOR YOU.

Divine Favour will do certain things for you.

-The favour of God found Moses at the backside of the desert. It found David where he was looking after the sheep. It found Saul of Tarsus on the road to Damascus.

-Another thing that favour does, is that it singles you out of a crowd. It doesn’t matter how many people are there, the favour of God will just zero in on you and say ‘You are the one I want!" You yourself will not understand how.

-if you read Mark 10:46-52, the Bible says Jesus came to Jericho and as he was coming out of Jericho a great multitude followed him! A multitude followed Him! But how many of the people in the multitude got a miracle? Only blind Bartemeus who was by the highway side begging!

-When David found favour with God, the boy who was despised by his relatives, the one who they would never have been presented for election to be king, became a celebrated person. Up till today we still talk about David.

LET US PRAY
The favour of God will single you out for a miracle today in Jesus Name.

Description of Divine Favour

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Description of Divine Favour

a.)When a man is selected for something good among many qualified counterperts.

For instance, Esther was selected among several other beautiful ladies that are qualified to be the queen. Esther 2: 15-17

b.)When a man is chosen for the position he is not naturally qualified for, especially among others that are far better than him. David was the most unqualified person naturally in his family, but God rejected others to look for him. 1 Samuel 16: 11-13

c.)When a man seeks the face of God in Prayer, and have all his request granted. A very good example is the account of Jabez. 1 Chron 4: 9-10.

d.)When help is made available unto a man at a time and from a place he least expected. Like the case of the man waiting at the pool of Bethesda. John 17: 1-15

e.)When a man is called by God to do great work for God when he was not thinking about God. We saw the case of Paul, God called him when he was walking on the path to destruction. Acts 9: 1-6

f.)When a man is guided to take a little effort, that lead to great achievement. Peter toiled throughout the night with great failure, but at the word of the Lord, he had a great success.

g.)When a man is always receiving kindness from others as a result of God’s hand on his life. At every turbulent time in the life of Joseph, he was always finding help from somebody

When Favour find You

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: WHEN FAVOUR FIND YOU

Psalms 5:12

For You; O Jehovah, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield.

-It is seen here that God is willing to bless the rightoeus and also protect him with the weapon of favour. When the favour of God is upon a man, he will be secured and protected against all oppositions and anti-favour moves of men.

-We can see this kind of favor operating in the life of Daniel. He and all the Israelites were prisoners in Babylon. For reasons that can't be explained naturally, though, he had favor with the leaders of the land.

Now God had brought Daniel into favor and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs" (Dan. 1:9).

-In other accounts we learn that Daniel had so much favor with the leaders of the land, he was elevated to prestigious positions in the Babylonian kingdom. Even though the circumstances were stacked against him, Daniel eventually became the prime minister of Babylon.

When favour find you, your life will not be the same again. People around will think you have gone to find diabolical means to be well.

Divine Favour

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: DIVINE FAVOUR

We through life endeavor to get the favor of people. Whether we are in sales, trying to get the favor of an account or a young man interested in a young lady, a child with his father, a student with his teacher, worker with his boss, etc. However, we should most try to get the favor of God by doing His Will. Here are blessings that come with His favor.

I. God’s favor can produce Supernatural increase and promotion.

Gen 39:21 But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

We see how God took Joseph out of a bad situation and he eventually became Prime Minister of Egypt.
We say that the key was he ran from evil.

Favour brings Restoration of Every thing the Enemy has stolen.

Exodus 3:21 And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty:

Psalm 105:37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

I want you to know this morning that by favour God is able to turn a bad situation into a good one.

LET US PRAY
TODAY FAVOUR THAT WE TURN YOUR LIFE AROUND FOR NEXT LEVEL SHALL FIND YOU IN JESUS NAME.

THE IGNORANCE OF THE HYPOCRITE

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: THE IGNORANCE OF THE HYPOCRITE

THE HYPOCRITE IS DECEIVED BECAUSE HE CONFIDENTLY TEACHES OTHERS, BUT DOES NOT APPLY THE WORD TO HIMSELF.

Paul continues (2:19-20), you “are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of the immature, having in the Law the embodiment of knowledge and of the truth.” God appointed Israel to be “a light to the nations, to open blind eyes” (Isa. 42:6-7). If they had done it with humility, it was a proper thing to do.

But everyone who teaches God’s Word must first apply it to himself. Knowledge without obedience puffs us up with pride (1 Cor. 8:1), which is the root of hypocrisy. Spiritually proud hypocrites who have a lot of knowledge without obedience look down on the blind, foolish, and immature that they teach. But when you apply the truth to yourself first, it humbles you as you realize where you’ve come from and how much you still need to grow. You realize that if God had not graciously shed His light on you, you’d still be in the dark, too!

Before we teach others, we need to apply the Word to our own hearts. (2:21-22)

WHAT EVER THAT WILL KILL YOU, GOD WILL TAKE IT AWAY FROM YOU IN JESUS NAME. AMEN.

Hypocrites Honour Themselves Stylishly and Indirectly.

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Hypocrites Honour Themselves Stylishly and Indirectly.

THE HYPOCRITE IS DECEIVED BECAUSE HE BOASTS IN GOD, NOT TO HONOR GOD, BUT TO HONOR HIMSELF.

Paul says (2:17), you “boast in God.” Again, this is a good thing to do in and of itself. Jeremiah says (Jer. 9:23-24), “Thus says the Lord, ‘Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on the earth; for I delight in these things,’ declares the Lord.” Paul says (1 Cor. 1:30-31), “But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written, ‘Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord.’”

So boasting in the Lord is good, if our aim is to give Him all glory for our salvation. But Paul’s Jewish readers were boasting in God in the sense of elevating themselves above the pagan Gentiles, who did not know God. It was a form of spiritual pride, where they said, “We know the only true God, but you don’t! We’re better than you are!” They were like the super-spiritual faction in Corinth (1 Cor. 1:12). Some were saying, “I am of Paul,” and others, “I am of Apollos,” or “I am of Cephas.” But some boasted, “I am of Christ!” They were boasting in God, but not to honor God, but to honor themselves. But they were deceived by their hypocrisy.

perhaps you too are like that and you think you are serving the Lord rightly, I want to tell you that if all that is for your praises and honour, you are not serving Christ, unless you change now. Because all the glory must be to the lord. Amen

LET US PRAY
FATHER IN JESUS NAME, TAKE ALL SELF AWAY AND PRIDE OUT OF OUR LIFE AND CLOTH US WITH HUMBLENESS

Deception of the Hypocrite.

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Deception of the Hypocrite.

Hypocrisy deceives the hypocrite because he knows the truth but doesn’t obey it.

James 1:22 states the principle: “But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers, who delude themselves” (emphasis added). These Jews that Paul confronts felt secure before God because of their religious heritage as Jews. They had God’s Law; they could confidently teach it to others. But they were deluded because they were hearers of the Law, but not doers of it.

At the outset, we need to understand that this is not a racial attack on the Jews. Paul was not being anti-Semitic. He himself was a Jew. He loved the Jewish people so much that he said that he would be willing to spend eternity in hell if it meant the salvation of the Jews (Rom. 9:1-3)! Any form of racism against any race is sinful. If we’re honest, as we read Paul’s indictment of the Jews here, we will see ourselves, because we’re all prone to hypocrisy. We all easily fall into the trap of trying to impress others with how spiritual we are, while our hearts are far from God. So we need to apply these verses carefully to our own hearts! Paul shows five ways that the hypocrite is deceived:

A. THE HYPOCRITE IS DECEIVED BECAUSE HE MAY KNOW THE DOCTRINE OF ELECTION, BUT HE MISAPPLIES IT.

B. THE HYPOCRITE IS DECEIVED BECAUSE HE KNOWS GOD’S COMMANDMENTS, BUT DOES NOT OBEY THEM ON THE HEART LEVEL.

C. THE HYPOCRITE IS DECEIVED BECAUSE HE BOASTS IN GOD, NOT TO HONOR GOD, BUT TO HONOR HIMSELF.

D. THE HYPOCRITE IS DECEIVED BECAUSE HE KNOWS THEOLOGICAL FINE POINTS, NOT FOR THE PURPOSE OF OBEDIENCE, BUT TO IMPRESS OTHERS.

E. THE HYPOCRITE IS DECEIVED BECAUSE HE CONFIDENTLY TEACHES OTHERS, BUT DOES NOT APPLY THE WORD TO HIMSELF.

LET US PRAY
May God deliver us from every spirit of Hypocrisy in our life in Jesus name. Amen

Ways of Hypocrites

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Ways of Hypocrites

2 Timothy 3:5 KJV
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Hypocrisy deceives the hypocrite, damages unbelievers, and dishonors God.

If you’ve ever been deceived by a con artist, you know that the reason he got your money is that you didn’t know at the time that you were being deceived. If you had known, you wouldn’t have let him get your money. And, once you find out, you’re embarrassed that it happened, and so you tend to cover it up in order to save face.

Hypocrites don’t get into hypocrisy deliberately by thinking that, “I’d like to bring God’s judgment down on myself by being a hypocrite. That sounds like the way to go!” Rather, due to pride, they think, “I want people to respect me. If they knew what I was really like, they wouldn’t respect me. So I need to keep up a good front. Besides, everyone does that to some extent.” So he tries to impress others, forgetting that God examines the heart. He ends up deceiving himself in the worst way. At the heart of this process is this basic principle:

Check your heart, why are you doing what you are into right now, what is your aim, goals and purpose.

Psalm 10:4 KJV
The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God : God is not in all his thoughts.
Proverbs 16:18 KJV
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Hypocrisy

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Hypocrisy

Romans 2:17-24

Hypocrisy—presenting ourselves as something that we know we’re not—
This one of the most subtle and dangerous of sins.

Seven times Jesus thundered against the religious leaders of His day, “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites”
Matt. 23:12, [14], 15, 16, 23, 25, 27, 29; v. 14
is probably not original.

He warned the disciples (Luke 12:1), “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.” Leaven spreads subtly and pervasively, until the whole lump of dough is affected. So does hypocrisy.

It is a perpetual danger for the religious, and especially for religious leaders. It is the root sin that Paul confronts in our text.

From Romans 1:18-3:20, Paul shows why all people need the gospel of God’s righteousness imputed to the believing sinner: because we all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory (Rom. 3:23). First (1:18-32),
he shows how the pagans who suppress the truth in unrighteousness are guilty before God. Then (2:1-16),
he shows how outwardly moral people have violated their own standards and thus are guilty before God. In doing so, he quietly sneaks up on the Jews, who prided themselves on their special standing before God. But he doesn’t mention them by name until verse 17. Up to this point, they have nodded in approval as Paul indicts the Gentiles. But now, he springs the trap on them.

The Jew thought himself exempt from God’s judgment on three grounds:
1) He was a son of Abraham (John 8:33), not a Gentile dog!

2) Unlike the pagans, he had God’s Law, revealed to Moses on the holy mountain.

3) He was circumcised, again in contrast to the defiled Gentiles.

Paul shows how being a Jew by birth cannot save anyone (2:17, 28-29);
how having the Law cannot save those who do not keep it (2:17-24); and, how being circumcised in the flesh is of no avail if the circumcised man does not keep the entire Law (2:25-27;

In our text, Paul mainly focuses on the Law (2:17, 18, 20, 23 [twice]). He is applying the point of 2:13, “it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God, but the doers of the Law will be justified.”

The Jews will not escape God’s righteous judgment because they were Jews and possessed the Law, unless they obeyed the Law, which they did not do. So he exposes their hypocrisy and shows the spiritual devastation of hypocrisy:

You and me will not be justify by our eye service in the church, God look into your heart and will judge you by your heart.

HOW TO KNOW YOU ARE IN LOVE

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: HOW TO KNOW YOU ARE IN LOVE

Love is a very powerful emotion. It motivates much of our lives. We make many important decisions based on this emotion, and even get married because we feel that we are “in love.” This may be the reason about half of all first marriages end in divorce.

The Bible teaches us that true love is not an emotion that can come or go, but a decision. We are not just to love those who love us; we should even love those who hate us, the same way that Christ loves the unlovable

(Luke 6:35). “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres” (1 Corinthians 13:4-7).

It can be very easy to “fall in love” with someone, but there are some questions to ask before deciding if what we are feeling is true love.
First, is this person a Christian, meaning has he given his life to Christ?
Is he/she trusting Christ alone for salvation? Also,
if you are considering giving your heart and emotions to one person, you should ask yourself if you are willing to put that person above all other people and to put your relationship second only to God.

The Bible tells us that when two people get married, they become one flesh (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5).

Another thing to consider is whether or not the loved one is a good candidate for being a mate. Has he/she already put God first and foremost in his/her life? Is he/she able to give his/her time and energy to building the relationship into a marriage that will last a lifetime?

There is no measuring stick to determine when we are truly in love with someone, but it is important to discern whether we are following our emotions or following God's will for our lives.
True love is a decision, not just an emotion. True biblical love is loving someone all of the time, not just when you feel “in love.”

LET US PRAY
MAY GOD STOP EVERYTHING THAT WILL DESTROY YOUR HAPPINESS MARITALLY IN JESUS NAME.

OBSTACLES TO GETTING TRUE LOVE

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: OBSTACLES TO GETTING TRUE LOVE

CONTINUE FROM YESTERDAY...

Any number of things could make finding true love, according to God’s design, difficult. Here we will focus on a few big obstacles that we face:

THINKING THERE IS ONLY ONE “RIGHT” PERSON FOR US. This is a lie that can keep us fearful that we’re settling for less than the best. Waiting for one’s perfect “soul mate” to show up can be a long wait.

The Bible has narrowed the field: our true love must be a believer who is living for the Lord (2 Corinthians 6:14–15); beyond that, God will provide wisdom and discernment (James 1:5). Wise, Godly people who know us well can also provide guidance in finding true love.

THINKING THAT A PERSON WILL OR CAN FULFILL US. Only God can truly fulfill us, so we don’t have to find romantic love to have a sense of fulfillment! None of us are perfect, and to expect another imperfect human being to meet every need is unrealistic, unhealthy, and can only lead to disappointment.

NOT BEING WILLING TO CHANGE OR GROW. It’s easy to imagine the kind of person we would love to be in love with, but how much effort do we expend in becoming that kind of person ourselves? We all have our own issues that we must address with God’s help in order to be the kind of people He desires us to be. It can be tempting to think that finding true love will magically solve those issues. But being in a close relationship with someone will not fix our problems; it is more likely to expose them more. This can be a rewarding part of the relationship, as iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17), if we are willing to change and grow. If we’re unwilling to change, the relationship will be strained and could eventually be destroyed. This does not mean that every personal issue must be dealt with before we get married. Rather, we should get into the practice of asking God to show us what things need to be cleaned out of our lives (Psalm 139:23). As we become the people God wants us to be, we will be better suited for whatever relationships are in store.

THINKING IT’S TOO LATE TO FIND TRUE LOVE. Finding true love and getting married is an important step and not to be taken lightly. A cautious step is better than a quick and reckless one. Three times, the Song of Solomon warns, “Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires” (Song of Solomon 2:7; 3:5; 8:4). God’s timing is always best.

We know that God cares about our desire to find true love. When we fully surrender that desire to Him, we release the burden of trying to make true love happen ourselves (Matthew 11:29–30).

Love is an essential quality of God, and He shows us in the Bible how real, true love works. Redefining love or trying to find it outside of God’s design is asking for frustration and disillusionment. Surrendering our desires to God, submitting to His will, and finding our fulfillment in Him are the keys to finding true love. “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4).

LET US PRAY
I PROPHECY IN TO EVERYONE WHO IS LOOKING UNTO GOD FOR TRUE LOVE. THE LORD WILL CONNECT YOU RIGHTLY IN JESUS NAME.

ARE YOU FINDING IT DIFFICULT TO GET TRUE LOVE?

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: ARE YOU FINDING IT DIFFICULT TO GET TRUE LOVE?

"Why is finding true love so difficult?"

We all have a desire to love and be loved. We experience different levels of love from parents, siblings, friends, and others. But most of us also want to find that special someone we can share a deeper level of love with. Finding true love can seem incredibly difficult, and it’s often hard to understand why. A big question to consider first is, “what is my definition of true love?” Understanding what we mean by “true love” can help us see what we’re really seeking and why or why not it’s working.

The world tosses around the word love very loosely. Love is often associated with intense feelings that, in truth, are self-centered and noncommittal. In so many movies and TV shows, we see characters who follow their hormones and have sex before marriage. When “love” is shallowly rooted in pleasant emotions or physical feelings, it turns off as easily as it was turned on. Now, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to experience good emotions toward the person we love; however, if that is the foundation of the relationship, the relationship is in trouble. If the kind of “love” we see demonstrated in today’s sex-saturated culture is what we’re looking for, no wonder it seems difficult to find; it’s not true love we’re after but an experience that, by nature, can’t last for long.

The Bible gives a much different picture of love. True love is of God—in fact, He is love (1 John 4:8)—and He’s the One who put the need to love and be loved in us. Therefore, understanding His design for love is crucial. True love, according to the Bible, is rooted in sacrifice, commitment, and an impulse to benefit the loved one (see John 15:3). God’s love for us took Him to the cross. We know for certain that Jesus was not experiencing “happy” emotions on His way to the cross (Luke 22:42–44). The Bible describes our relationship to Jesus as that of a bride and bridegroom (Matthew 9:15; Ephesians 5:32). True romantic love is designed to lead to and grow within a marriage commitment (Genesis 2:24) and should be rooted in sacrifice (Ephesians 5:22, 25–28).

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHO TO MARRY (part2)?

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHO TO MARRY (part2)?

CONTINUE FROM YESTERDAY...

First, we should make sure that we are ready to marry. We must have enough maturity to look beyond the here and now and be able to commit ourselves to joining with this one person for the rest of our lives.

We must also recognize that marriage requires sacrifice and selflessness. Before marrying, a couple should study the roles and duties of a husband and wife (Ephesians 5:22-31; 1 Corinthians 7:1-16; Colossians 3:18-19; Titus 2:1-5; 1 Peter 3:1-7).

A couple should make sure they know each other for a sufficient amount of time before discussing marriage.
They should watch how the other person reacts to different situations, how he behaves around his family and friends, and what kind of people she spends time with.
A person's behavior is greatly influenced by those he keeps company with (1 Corinthians 15:33).

They should agree on issues such as morality, finances, values, children, church attendance and involvement, relationships with in-laws, and employment. These are areas of potential conflict in marriage and should be carefully considered beforehand.

Finally, any couple considering marriage should first go to premarital counseling with their pastor or another trained Christian counselor. Here they will learn valuable tools for building their marriage on a foundation of faith in Christ, and they will also learn how to deal with inevitable conflicts. After all these criteria have been met, the couple is ready to prayerfully decide if they desire to be joined together in marriage.

If we are earnestly seeking the will of God, He will direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

LET US PRAY
I AGREED WITH YOU IN THE SPIRIT, YOU WILL NOT MISS IT MARITALLY IN JESUS NAME.

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHO TO MARRY?

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHO TO MARRY?

"How will I know when I have found the perfect spouse for me?"

The Bible does not address how to find the “perfect spouse,” nor does it get as specific as we might like on the matter of finding the right marriage partner. The one thing God's Word does explicitly tell us is to make sure that we do not marry an unbeliever (2 Corinthians 6:14-15). First Corinthians 7:39 reminds us that, while we are free to marry, we should only marry those who are acceptable to God—in other words, Christians. Beyond this, the Bible is silent about how to know we are marrying the “right” person.

So why doesn't God spell out for us what we should look for in a mate? Why do we not have more specifics about such an important issue? The truth is that the Bible is so clear on what a Christian is and how we are to act that specifics are not necessary. Christians are supposed to be likeminded about important issues, and if two Christians are committed to their marriage and to obeying Christ, they already possess the necessary ingredients for success. However, because our society is inundated with many professing Christians, it would be wise to use discernment before devoting oneself to the lifelong commitment of marriage. Once a prospective mate’s priorities are identified—if he or she is truly committed to Christ-likeness—then the specifics are easier to identify and deal with.

DO YOU WANT A GOOD HOME?

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: DO YOU WANT A GOOD HOME?

Make sure your life partner loves God more than he or she loves you.

Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" (Matthew 22:37-39, NIV)

It is so important to observe your partner's love for God. Why? Because in time, the way he or she loves and serves Him will be reflected in the way he or she loves and serves you.

Make sure your life partner is a person of character: "Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord." (Psalm 119:1, NIV)

Men and women of character are trustworthy in all they do and have an appetite for righteousness. They will keep their word no matter what the cost.

Make sure your life partner is kind to others: "And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you." (Ephesians 4:32, NKJV)

If you don't see your partner treat others with kindness and grace, in time he or she will be treating you the same way.

Make sure to note the way your life partner dresses. "And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes. For women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by the good things they do." (1 Timothy 2:9-10, NLT)

I'm not saying your partner should wear a gunnysack and combat boots to cover herself. I'm just saying the modest things she wears reveal a lot about her heart.

Make sure your life partner treats his or her parents with honor and respect: "Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise." (Ephesians 6:2, NKJV)

I have never yet met a young person who is truly successful or blessed who doesn't love his or her parents.

Make sure your life partner is respected by others: "Choose a good reputation over great riches, for being held in high esteem is better than having silver or gold." (Proverbs 22:1, NLT)

Be wise about how you do this, but I would recommend that you discreetly ask a few people what they have observed about the person you're considering. Pay as much attention to their hesitations as to their words!

Make sure your life partner is not flirtatious: "Smooth words may hide a wicked heart, just as a pretty glaze covers a common clay pot." (Proverbs 26:23, NLT)

A person's actions and looks speak volumes, so be advised, Son, and be wise.

Make sure you understand the true priorities of your life partner's life: "Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you teach, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity." (1 Timothy 4:12, NLT)

Watch closely to see signs of your partner's love, faith, and purity. Has this person put God first? Does this person live to serve others? Is this person selfish?

Make sure you know whom your life partner's close friends are: "Do not be misled. 'Bad company corrupts good character.'" (1 Corinthians 15:33, NIV)

Make sure your life partner is not contentious or violent: "Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred." (Proverbs 15:17, NIV) If you're picking up a lot of unhappiness or anger in this person, then be warned in advance.

Make sure you ask the Lord for discernment. "Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul... May your good Spirit lead me on level ground." (Psalm 143:8,10, NIV)

"Trust in the lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6, NLT)

Make sure you pray, pray, pray: "Show me the path where I should walk, O lord; point out the right road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you." (Psalm 25:4-5, NLT)

LET US PRAY
I JOIN MY FAITH WITH YOU AND I ASK GOD FOR A GOOD HOME, GOOD MARRIAGE AND GOOD PARTNER FOR YOU IN JESUS NAME.

Power of prayer

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: Power Of Prayer

HOW POWERFUL IS IT?

The power of prayer should not be underestimated. James 5:16-18 declares, "…The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops." God most definitely listens to prayers, answers prayers, and moves in response to prayers.

Jesus taught, "…I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you" (Matthew 17:20). 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 tells us, "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

The Bible urges us, "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints" (Ephesians 6:18).

HOW DO I TAP INTO IT?

The power of prayer is not the result of the person praying. Rather, the power resides in the God who is being prayed to. 1 John 5:14-15 tells us, "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him."

No matter the person praying, the passion behind the prayer, or the purpose of the prayer - God answers prayers that are in agreement with His will. His answers are not always yes, but are always in our best interest. When our desires line up with His will, we will come to understand that in time. When we pray passionately and purposefully, according to God's will, God responds powerfully!

LET US PRAY
TODAY, GOD ALMIGHTY WILL ANSWER YOUR PRAYERS AND MIRACLE WILL HAPPEN IN YOUR LIFE IN JESUS NAME.

A SECRET PLACE

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: A SECRET PLACE

Do you realize that movements on earth govern movements in heaven? Do you realize that a child of God in prayer affects decisions in heaven? The Lord declared:
“Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven (Matthew 18:18).

So awesome is this power that it releases angels to do God’s bidding on the earth and binds demons as it destroys the purpose of the enemy!

PRAYER–A PLACE OF SUPERNATURAL PROTECTION
Job tells us there is a secret place, known and available only to God’s children. And when God’s children enter into it, only then is the power of God activated on their behalf and on behalf of those in desperate need:
“There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture’s eye hath not seen: The lion’s whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it” (Job 28:7-8).

There is a path, a place which no fowl knows. That place is the secret place, that glorious place so secure and protected that no demonic power can find it. It is a place hidden in God that no vulture’s eye has seen. No demon on earth or satan, the enemy of our souls, has seen or knows.

It is a place of refuge, a place of safety that no lion’s whelps (principalities and powers) pass by—not even the lion, satan. That place is the place of prayer.

The psalmist tells us it is in that secret place that you will find the Lord to be your refuge and fortress, and it is in that secret place that He covers you with His wings so that no evil will befall you nor will any plague come nigh to your dwelling. That secret path, that secret place is prayer.

In prayer, we come to God as His children. No introduction from angels is needed because God knows us by name and He always want to talk with us.

In prayer, we don’t need formal appointment or any formal invitation to come to His presence. We have the right to come any time without and any legal obligation

CHRIST WORK IN OUR LIFE.

IOI CHRISTIAN MORNING MEAL

TOPIC: CHRIST WORK IN OUR LIFE.

THE RESTORATION OF DOMINION THROUGH CHRIST

Jesus came down from heaven and became a man, suffered and died on the cross and rose again on the third day. Jesus defeated the enemy on the cross.

Col 2:13 You were once dead because of your failures and your uncircumcised corrupt nature. But God made you alive with Christ when he forgave all our failures.

Col 2:14 He did this by erasing the charges that were brought against us by the written laws God had established. He took the charges away by nailing them to the cross.

Col 2:15 He stripped the rulers and authorities of their power and made a public spectacle of them as he celebrated his victory in Christ.

Rev 1:18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.

1Co 15:57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Eph 2:4 But God’s mercy is so abundant, and his love for us is so great,

Eph 2:5 that while we were spiritually dead in our disobedience he brought us to life with Christ. It is by

God’s grace that you have been saved.

Eph 2:6 In our union with Christ Jesus he raised us up with him to rule with him in the heavenly world.

1. We were made alive together with Christ

2. We were raised up to a new life together with Christ

3. We were made to sit together

I enjoy you to give your life to Jesus Christ today, it is the right thing to do, because Jesus said John 14:6 KJV
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

If you made the choice to follow Jesus and accept him today, you have made the right choice.
